Stephanie is a New Adult romance author who debuted her first series in Spring of 2014, but her love affair with books began at an early age. She consumed them from the moment she learned to read, loving nothing more than to get lost in the fictional worlds that came to life on the pages. Creating her own stories was something she always enjoyed but never pursued until she wrote Finding Ever After, her first novel. It has been a dream come true ever since.

She has many passions outside books, including hiking, traveling, drawing, painting, design, baking and cake decorating. Prior to the release of her first novel, she was running her own bakery and cake shop in the small coastal town where she was born and raised and returned home to after moving away for college. Becoming an author has been an incredible journey, one she hopes never ends.

I thought Stephanie Hoffman McManus had written a really good book the first time, but I had a feeling that Ace was going to be something else when he got his own book, he was such a charmer.
Along comes Jaxyn's friend Sadie arriving in the first book.
Ace was definitely drawn to her, but she always seemed to be pleasant to everyone but him.
Ah, isn't that the way of crushes, when you don't think you are good enough, especially for a member of a popular rock band that could have any girl he wanted.
Sadie has a lot of emotional baggage also. I love the fact that the heroine in these books may not think they are, but Ms. McManus writes some really strong characters and I love it! I don't want to say much more because I'm afraid I'll start getting into spoilers and that's no fun. So be sure to pick you up a copy. Just be prepared not to want to put it down.

So far, I love the Ever After books. This is the 2nd book and it was just as good as the first one.

This book was about Sadie and Ace, which were both in the first book. I loved how this book continued the first l, but was about 2 other character's love stories.

Ace was a former marine and is now a rockstar. Sadie is more of a shy girl and keeps everything to herself. Ace tries to make her fall in love with him but she's too stuborn. She had a lot of family issues and Ace stuck by her side no matter how much she didn't want him there.

It was a very heartwarming story. I was pleased with this book. It had a lot less grammatical errors compared to the first one. I'm glad the author continues the band's stories. I look forward to reading all of them!

I was given the opportunity to review this book for Through the Booking Glass.

Chasing Ever After is wonderful. I honestly finished maybe 5 minutes ago. I couldn't put it down. It is another home run for this author and the Ever After series. I loved learning more about Ace and Sadie. I laughed out loud a lot (Ace's Grandma reminded me of my mom, right down to General Hospital). I cried and my heart broke with them. I was also smiling and cheering as I read. Stephanie did what all great authors do. Her skill of writing has you feeling what these characters feel. While I anxiously await more from Stephanie, Ashes and Embres, and the family they've created I think I just lost my heart to Ace! LOVED IT!

This is the second book I have read by Stephanie McManus. The first being Finding Ever After. Chasing Ever after is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand alone, However Some characters that feature in the first book, do feature in Chasing Ever After. If you want some background knowledge first than you should defintly read The first book in the series before this book.. You can however read this book without reading Finding Ever After and still enjoy it just the same.
I loved Ace in Finding Ever after and was so happy that he was getting his own story. He is such a lovely, sweet and kind hearted character. I was really hoping he would get his own HEA. He has suffered loss in his life, he had every thing he wanted and a plan for how his life was going to be. Unfortunatly though things didn't work out the way that he had hoped, but he has moved on with his life the best he could and has hidden all his pain and found success with his band Ashers and Embers.
Sadie is a very sweet girl who also had every thing she wanted. She gave up everything to be happy and was left scarred, lost, untrusting and in emotional pain.
When the band are bought back home through a tragedy, Sadie and Ace meet. Sadie is getting on with her life when she meets Ace and feels a connection with him. She has been through so much and was trying to just get on with her life, so she tries her hardest to ignore any feelings she feels towards Ace. She doesn't want to risk it all again and put her heart out there for a "womaniser" in a band when she had already risked it all in the past and ended up getting badly hurt.
I could understand Sadies hesitance towards Ace and how strong she always tried to be. I admired her strength, but I wanted her to see that Ace wasn't her past, he hadn't hurt her and that he deserved a chance. Luckily Ace wasn't prepared to give up on her and he going to prove to her that he wasn't the person she thought he was and that he wasn't going to hurt her like she had been hurt in the past.
I think because Ace had suffered loss that was similar in his life to, he could understand and connect with Sadie more. I liked how he slowly got her to open up to him and realise that she should give him a chance.
I loved both characters in the book. They were so similar with their backgrounds and the loss in their lives, but yet so different in how they coped and moved forward. The rest of the band were in the story aswell, which was great. I loved reading about them all again and they bought a slight humour to the story.
This book was just as good as Finding Ever After. Stephanie's writing really captures you and pulls you in to her books and connect with the characters. The writing again in this book flowed brilliantly and the story and the well develped characters kept me grip and interested throughout.
Looking forward to more from Stephanie in the future.

~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
After reading the first installment of this series, it made me want to learn more about the other characters in the book. Chasing Ever After follows Sadie and Ace - the best friends of the main characters from Finding Ever After. Ace is an ex-Marine turned rock star. Sadie is a rich girl who leaves her family to follow her heart which ends up getting broken and squashed. Ace wants to fix that squashed heart but Sadie is not trusting him. The story that follows is sweet and strong and loving - just like the main characters. There is more heartache for Sadie but Ace is there to pick up the pieces this time. This installment has just a touch more sexual content than the first book did. Religion plays a part in the book too. Neither of the characters seem especially religious and yet they spout these religious quotes and ideals. I found this a little confusing to me and to the story. The other characters from their group of friends don't play as big a part in this book as they did in the first one, but they are all still there. Again, this book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA.
~~~~~~~~~~Amanda's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Words cannot describe how much I really enjoyed this read. It had me from the beginning and throughout the rest of the series. I couldn't put it down. This is one read that grabbed a hold and wouldn't let go. The author did an excellent job of giving you just enough to make you want to come back for more. I was given an ARC for my honest review.

~~~~~~~~~~Holly's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This is a continuation of the first book in the series written from another characters perspective. The characters, Ace and Sadie, are introduced in the first book "Finding Ever After" . I must say I loved how the author told their story while intertwining the lives of the other characters. Ace and Sadie have to deal with loss and their inner demons before they can accept the miracle of finding each other. I am hooked and thoroughly invested in reading everything I can by Stephanie.
Chasing Ever After is the second book in the Ever After series. This was Ace’s story and since he was my favorite part of book one I was super excited to read this! It was FANTASTIC!!
Ace, a member of the band Ashes & Embers and a former marine, fell fast and hard.
“She was mine, even if she didn’t know it yet.”
He fell for Jax’s best friend, Sadie. It took them two years to figure their attraction out, but once they did, it was unstoppable.
“In two years that hasn’t gone away, it’s only gotten stronger. At this point, I don’t think there’s anything that could get you out of me, you’re in so deep. He grabbed my hand and placed it on his chest, just over his heart. “You’re inside there. Every minute of every fucking day, I can feel you in there.”
Swoon!!! I need me a marine/rock star that whispers sweet nothings in my ear. See why Ace was my favorite?!? He is also kind, caring, and compassionate and will do anything to help out a friend.
Ace and Sadie both had a lot of past obstacles to overcome. Sadie went through more than any person should have to in her lifetime, but she was strong.
“Beautiful things come from the ugliest places all the time.”
And together, they were able to conquer their demons and move on.
This story had it all. It was funny, emotional, full of sexual tension, and angsty. I laughed out loud; I cried; I wanted to throw my kindle, but I couldn’t put it down! I loved that we continued to see the entire band, especially updates on Jax and Ky. I can’t wait to see whose book is next! ~Tiffany, 4.5 stars
CHASING EVER AFTER (Ever After #2)
AUTHOR: STEPHANIE HOFFMAN MCMANUS
CHASING EVER AFTER is the second book in the EVER AFTER series by Stephanie Hoffman McManus. I was totally blown away by the first book in the series (FINDING EVER AFTER) and couldn’t wait to jump into this one. It is wonderful, and every bit as good as the first book. Stephanie is an awesome romance author who draws you into her books, makes you fall in love with the characters, and feel every emotion. She created unforgettable characters in her first book that flow into CHASING EVER AFTER and now have their own love story. If you haven’t read any of her books yet, this is a great place to start. She will become one of your favorite go to authors for a phenomenal story.
This is Sadie and Ace’s love story. I adored them in the first book and was so glad that Stephanie gave them their own story. I loved getting to know them and watching them fall in love. Ace is kind, sweet, smart and lots of fun. He thought his life was perfect. He joined the service for four years and planned on marrying his fiancé on his return. Life sometimes doesn’t go as planned. His fiancé broke off their engagement and he immediately re-enlisted.
Sadie grew up extremely privileged, but it was easy for her to walk away from it all to be with the love of her life. But her dream was quickly shattered when her boyfriend was killed in the war.
Sadie and Ace both are suffering from broken hearts and trust issues. Ace is madly in love with Sadie, but will he be able to convince her to take another chance on love?
Stephanie Hoffman McManus nailed it again with this book. There is just something about her writing style that I enjoy. I love the intense love scenes and it wasn’t until I was half way through this book that I noticed her books so far don’t have them and I didn’t even miss them. There is the emotional intimacy that she is captures that you don’t normally see in a book where the female lead gets slammed against the wall.
I loved getting to know Andrew “Ace” Reid the bassist of Ashes and Embers and his back story. I knew he was a good guy after the first book but didn’t realize the depth of his goodness until now and that you can tell is because of his family. His Grandmother Helen is awesome, that is how I want to be when I’m old! I knew he had met Spade while they were in the Marines and knew they were extremely close but you see a side of Spade you don’t even expect.
Sadie’s story is a heartbreaking story. She has dealt with way too much grief over the last six years of her life and how one person can deal with what she has and still live her life the way she does is just amazing. I will never understand how a mother can be so unloving towards her child or children but Sadie’s mother is just that. Just a such a coldhearted woman who has added to the depth of hurt Sadie has dealt with.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I think Stephanie is probably one of my favorite new to me authors. I hope she keeps releasing gems like the first two books in this series.
Sadie and Ace.
Brought together by one of the most tragic of circumstances.
Their friend Jax is hurt.
Will she make it?
Can she survive?
Or has the damage just too much for Jax to fight?
In the moment of grief, hurt and pain, Sadie and Ace find comfort in each other.
An embrace.
A kiss.
One night.
Move two years forward.
Ace knows what he wants.
He wants her?
He craves her?
He needs her?
He wants her to be his.
Sadie knows what she wants.
She wants him?
She’s drawn to him?
But why is Sadie holding back?
What are her secrets?
Why won’t she open her heart to him?
Chasing Ever After is Sadie and Ace’s story. A story about hurt and pain. A story about grief and loss. A story about hope. A story about love.
Again Stephanie McManus has delivered a brilliant read. Full of emotion, we couldn't put it down. The emotions poured throughout the pages. We laughed. We cried. We felt the heart-ache and pain. We felt the hope and love. We fell in love with both Sadie and Ace. Simply just a beautiful read.
Chasing Ever After should be on everyone’s TBR list. A definite 5 star read.
I received and ARC in exchange for my honest review..... Chasing Ever After is the second book in McManus' Ever After series and its just a great as her first. I love books written about a group of friends! CEA 's story line revolves around Ace, ex marine turned band member and Sadie, Jax's best friend. Ace has been fascinated with Sadie since the moment he first laid eyes on her. Sadie is equally drawn to Ace, however will not put her faith and trust into a man whore to only be broken again. I loved how this author manages to slowly break the barriers of these two characters. Some of the advice given in these books on relationships alone should have you reading. These characters are deep, well thought out, and give the story line meaning. This book is hilariously written with Ace's crazy family. There is no way you could resist laughing out loud. This book definitely needed the addition of his family to balance out the seriousness of the issues discussed. Overall, another great addition to the Ever After series!
Stephanie McManus has another amazing book with Chasing Ever After!!
This is book 2 of the Ever After series and it is highly recommended that you read book 1 Finding Ever After first!
The Ever After series followes the boys of. ASHES AND EMBERS
As they find love. Book 2 is about Ace and Sadie both of whom have unfortunate pasts.
Sadie is reluctant to give bad boy Ace the time of day. She has lost love before and does not want the hurt again. She finds it harder to resist him as he seys about winning her over without seducing her.
Ace knows Sadie will be worth the wait. He has been engaged before and thought that was love...but the way he feels for Sadie over shadows that.
Chasing Ever After pulled me in quickly and left me ready for book 3 and 4. I can't get enough of this group of friends!
The characters are fun and relatable! The drama is high but thats the way I like it. From a Octopus named Barneby to tight clothes,ugg wearing grandma to pretension twins...This story is everything! Funny, sad, tragic but with a HEA!
5 stars from me
Chasing Ever After by Stephanie Hoffman McManus is another great story by this author. I read Finding Ever After and Chasing Ever After is just another continuation of this great story. A very well written tale that talks about two people who had everything in their lives, until both of them lost everything. The two of them meet; it takes a while before both of them see that they both need each other. I enjoyed this story and the two characters personalities are so down to earth that it felt like I had known these two for a long time. The author writes them into the story with so much personality that you actually feel that you could run into them simply by walking down the street. Stephanie Hoffman McManus writes stories that can touch your heart. They are so realistic and touching and that what makes the two stories so good to read. I give a rating of 5 stars. Wonderful read!
Ace and Sadie are the typical everyday couple, Ace had it all, a girlfriend, a best friend and a band of brothers as he was enlisted in the marines, until it came crashing down and Jules walked away from him, so he stayed put and served his country proud. Until it was time then left and formed a band with some of his brothers.
Sadie is a caring loving person who had so much going for her, a boyfriend who loved her and also doing his service in the marines, until one day he was killed in action having lost him and then suffering further she decided enough and moved to Boston.
Ace and Sadie paths cross and he fell for her right away, although they both denied it. They eventually get together but have a rough ride too.
Chasing Ever After (Ever After 2)
By: Stephanie Hoffman McManus
5 out of 5 stars
The story of Chasing Ever After (Ever After 2) by Stephanie Hoffman McManus is a military romance book. What is a man to do when he is serving his country and the woman he intends to spend the rest of his life with tells him that she has found someone else to love? That is exactly what happened to Andrew Reid. Sadie Pierce believes she has found the love of her life in Clayton West. Her parents forbid the relationship and give an ultimatum, either marry who we choose or leave. She decides to leave. Both Andrew and Sadie both have lost and pick up the pieces, Andrew by becoming Ace of the hottest rock band around and Sadie by finally finding her way on her own. She is best friends with Jaxyn the fiancé of the lead singer of the band. Ace is so drawn to Sadie he is ready to give up his ways and to devote himself to her. Sadie is so hurt by the past that she refuses to see any other outcome for them but heartbreak. Will Ace show Sadie that he is ready to settle down and she can trust him with her heart?
What a stunning second book in the Ever After series! I loved the first one and am on heaven after reading the second. I love how the story begins with the upcoming marriage of Jaxyn and Kyden. It takes off from there with Ace trying to win over Sadie. She knows all about his ways to love them and leave them. Nope, not her. What I love is the emotion put into the story. You want so bad for the two to get together however see the reasons they both don’t rush in. I feel like I am repeating myself, it is just that this story is so awesome I don’t think that I can put enough emotions behind my words to properly explain. One lesson that you can take away is that even though you are hurt before, don’t let it jade you to all possibilities.
The characters are a big reason that the story is so wonderful. Sadie and Ace have a whole group of friends that are just like family and would do anything to support them, or endlessly tease them, whichever they decide to do first. If you loved the first book, Finding Ever After, then you will love this one. Although it is not necessary to have read the first one, I would recommend as I found the story and characters had more meaning. Because of adult language and adult situations I would suggest a reading age of 18 and above.
OMG I loved this book. Chasing Ever After by Stephanie Hoffman McManus was simply amazing, it starts off kinda of parallel to the first book in this series. In this book Andrew “Ace”, is living the typically rock star life style when a tragic incident forces the entire family into the hospital. While waiting for news on Jaxyn, Ace meets her best friend Sadie and although things didn’t work out as he planned, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. 2 years later they are still skating around each other. Ace comes from a wonderful family that is full of life and support. Sadie however comes from a family that in no way reflects how a family should act, on top of this she had had one tragedy after another. She is determined to never giver her heart away again; however Ace makes it so hard to keep her walls up. Ace decides that there is no one else for him except Sadie and is determined to show that he can give her everything she deserves in life. When she is thrust into her past and has to deal with everything all over again, Ace goes with her for the ride. Will all of this help or hurt him in the mission to make her his?
Stephanie Hoffman McManus’s first book left me emotionally destroyed and this book is more of the same. The amount of feeling, love and heartbreak that are throughout this book is intense. I have to say I was actually angry with Sadie for a minute and then when her final secrets came out I felt really bad. I am so proud of Ace for sticking with her and showing her the happiness they both deserve. Ugh I could go on and on. I really want everyone to read this book because the issues that Sadie has to deal with are so real but rarely talked about like this. I will just say that you MUST read this book!!
So in love
When I started these books the cover was what caught my eye. Didn't sound the greatest but have to try. OMG I was hooked immediately! I was so lost in this book that I would giggle and gasp and I'm sure people thought I was crazy! I don't want this story to end at all. Everyone of the characters were amazing and so real. This book was sweet and building. I liked the characters, although I thought Sadie was a little weak. I enjoyed getting a view of some of our loved characters from the previous book. Nothing super exciting or too surprising happened in this book. But I enjoyed that they didn't play games and try to hurt each other and all that drama. It was nice to have a story without it. I wanted a little more from it, but I gobbled it up in 2 days so it obviously kept me entertained. I would give it a 3.5.
Chasing Ever After (book two Ever after
series) by Stephanie Hoffman McManus
*contains spoilers*
Chasing Ever After is about Sadie Pierce and Andrew (Ace) Reid. You met them both in Kyden and Jax's story. Sadie is Jax's best friend from her time away and Ace is part of Ky's band. They shared a kiss while Jax was in the hospital. Let's just say emotions were high. Ace had every intention of claiming Sadie even after Jax woke, but she wouldn't give him the time of day.
Sadie is from a prominent family out west. They disowned her when she fell in love with a boy from a lower class then them. But she didn't care. They got engaged before he deployed with his unit. He was a man of honor and integrity. Unfortunately he lost his life while serving, leaving Sadie alone. Worst of all shortly after his death she miscarried his baby. She had no one, until she met Jaxyn. They healed each other. After everything with Jax she ends up moving to Boston to be close to her.
Ace is from a middle class normal family. He joined the Marines right out of high school. While deployed his fiancée left him for another man. When he got out him and his best friend Spade settled in Boston. Where they then met Kyden, Chris, and Bas. Then the band started. They had hit it big enough to go on a European tour, only to come home early after having a stranger answer Jax's phone when he called. Telling him she had been stabbed multiple times and left to die. They all got on a plane to come home to her. Ace loves her like a sister, but can't help be a little envious of her, he wants to find love.
I felt awful for Ace the whole time he was trying to get Sadie. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Finally after a while he managed to win her over. When Ace, Kyden, and Jaxyn took her home to see her sisters he learned why she was the way she was. Her parents were awful, one sister was shy, the other threw herself at Kyden, and the youngest was rebellious.
He took her to meet his family and Sadie learned what a real family was like and fell in love with them. The women took her in and they cooked and laughed together. Heck his grandma was a riot, who wouldn't love a woman who talked like a teen.
"They all have nice butts. I wouldn’t mind giving any of them a little squeeze or bite."
That's what grandma said about Ace's band members! But that doesn't mean they had it easy once he got her. A run in with his ex almost ruined them. Along with Sadies insecurities. She didn't think she would be enough for him, he's a Rockstar and she hadn't slept with anyone since her ex. But Ace proved himself.
"I hope you don’t think it’s too creepy, but from almost the instant I met you, I was captivated by you . I snuck each of those pictures because I couldn’t help myself. I wanted something to look at when I was on the road. Not every part of what I do is exciting and glamorous, and there were many times I wished I was just home, instead of on a bus or in a hotel, feeling exhausted and worn out. When that would happen, I would look at your pictures. Not in a weird way though."
And to fit her push his awesome status he took in Sadies baby sister Mia when she ran away from home. Got her to stay with them during school break. Then when Mia got in a car accident and Sadie tried to push him away, he stood his ground. When her ex's family was harassing her everyday him and Spade stepped in. They get the HEA they deserved. And his proposal, totally fantastic! I have a feeling I will be reading this again so I can swoon over Ace. I love the dynamic of this group of friends and can't wait to keep following them.
