This book is a great tool for professionals. The author shares a lot of his direct experience in interpreting the values and symbols of astrology in synastry. From my point of view, Suskin tends to adhere too much to the astrological tradition when discussing compatibility (focusing mainly on elements' compatibility) and the use of secondary progressions tends to create too much astrological information which may be then difficult to select and prioritize. I really appreciated his view on the Ascendant and on Mercury represented as our tools for creating a first impression on others, and the intuition of looking at succedent houses (2nd-5th-8th-11th) to see whether the individual has low or high self-esteem and how they deal with resources (2nd-8th axis) and how the individual gives and is capable of receiving love (5th-11th axis). At the end of the book, Suskin adds some important strategies for dealing with clients which are great tools for professional astrologers. I would recommend this book mainly to professionals in this field.
Very good author and book. Issues are treated transparently and methodically within a coherent whole. I think that this book is excellent to acquire a global vision on synastry with lots of material for work. However, the book's width is slightly uncomfortable for me and many pages of my book have print errors in the tables (they look a little blur). Be careful and check well the book before buy it.
This is the most comprehensive book on synastry that I've read. It lays out simple tips on what to say to a couple during a relationship reading. This is basically a sort of textbook on synastry, not a cookbook of interpretations. Excellent.
A great book. Suskin is a very good writer. Only wish the examples were in Whole Sign Houses as they work much better topically -- or at least alongside a quadrant system which adds nuance in determining planetary terrestrial strength.
