I'm on the fence between 3 stars and 3.5
I loved book 1 but it was too much at times with the other books and what happened to her. She was frustrating and stubborn, that I wanted to shake her up and make her realize what a great guy he was. Maybe it was the overwhelmed of not knowing what point I was at each book since this is the boxset, so don't get discouraged by my feel of this and pick up and it give a go.

It stared all through an auction. What auction? Mia's virginity! In comes Adam the highest bidder and their story begins or had it just begun?

Adam Drake
Where DO I begin describing HIM! He is the Man who expects you to say how high when he asks you to jump!

“I own your virginity and I can remove it whenever I wish. Whether it be now or ten years from now, that honor is mine.” ~ Adam.

Emilia Kimberly Strong
Also known as Mia. She is a strong, sassy and an intelligent women. And she is beyond broke.
Mia comes up with the idea of selling her virginity in order to help her mom as well as to attend nursing school.

There were so many ups and downs. I must say it kept me engrossed but not throughout though. The second book (At Any Turn) was very slow and I felt like Brenna should've ended their story by the end of the first book (At Any Price).
The third book (At Any Moment) was heart breaking! It's an emotional roller coaster I shed a few tears (okay maybe more than a few). If I would've know earlier that Mia would've been detected with cancer I wouldn't have read it in the first place but I wanted to know how the story ends!! And I was not disappointed!

I could connect with the characters to some extent. It's was a good, one time read series. Though I must admit I lost interest after the first book. But Brenna regained my interest in the third book.

I was given this box set in exchange for an honest review.

Book 1 - Great story. Mia and Adam were great together. I liked how Adam kept pushing off Mia losing her virginity to him. He was falling for her and she was falling for him. Both denied it but it was inevitable!

Book 2 drove me crazy! Mia pushed Adam away because he was too controlling. Then she gets cancer and hides it from him. I am taking a break from this series. Not sure if I want to read the 3rd book. Now she's pregnant with cancer and needs chemo which could harm the baby. Honestly this series could have ended at book 1 for me. If Adam is the love of her life, why would she push him away when she needed him the most?

UPDATE: I DNF at the end of book 2. The series just went off in a way that I wasn't interested in anymore. I read the epilogue at the end of book 3. That's cheating I guess--something I have never done before. Honestly, I don't enjoy reading books about people who are ill. Maybe it's just me wanting to escape the real world and not wanting to ready about sick people. Had I known she got sick in book 2 I probably wouldn't have read the series.

Mia and Adam are two of the most frustrating characters I have ever read about. Thank you, Brenna for pulling these emotions out of me! Stubbornness borne out of life experiences, Adam's need for control and Mia's closely-guarded independence clash again and again, leading to secrets kept on both sides, misunderstandings due to miscommunication or rather, the lack of communication.

Mia is a really headstrong woman, taking on too much at a time. She's feisty yet so vulnerable. Adam is reclusive and protective; his constant need to protect Mia funs afoul with her again and again. Can these two ever find a balance? Lots of emotional moments for me, Mia and Adam's life experiences are raw and real. Their love for each other never wavered despite all the challenges.

Very good read with lots of gaming information.

Oh my Lord!

I don’t even know what to think about this series. It had everything you wanted and didn’t want: virginity auctioning, angst, troubled childhoods, break ups, accidental pregnancy, cancer, cliffhangers, more angst.
I seriously held my breath reading these three books. There was more drama and trust breaking than most books.
I like how one book held Mia’s view, the next was Adam’s, and then the third book was back and forth between the chapters. I like stories that show both main characters’ POV.
These aren’t light and happy stories. There’s lots of drama and you want to shake Mia and Adam sometimes. But there’s lots of love and a tentative HEA. The characters are fragile. I wish there was more to tie the story together at the end. It seemed a bit quick.
Overall, a good, yet different series.

I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I had Book 1 sitting on my shelf as 'wanting to read' for ages, but the thing that held me back from reading it was the plot idea. It seems to be a theme in recent years that a virginal, early 20-something year old is pursued by a mid-20's, billionaire, CEO - this premise of a power imbalance just doesn't interest me. I can't get into it because I don't buy it. Having said that, I was excited to finally read it.

Ok, so I'll start with book 1 - At Any Price

I am a huge fan of romance novels, so this one caught my eye. It's been sitting in my 'want to read' list for a while. I keep reading the blurb and thinking the gaming aspect would be awesome, but just didn't read it. I had just downloaded it and the author offered a read and review of this series so I took the opportunity.

So we have Mia - a gamer, blogger and student hoping to become a doctor; and Adam - a mid-twenties gaming company owner. Both of them have issues and she's selling off her virginity to help pay for med school and help her mum who is recovering from cancer.

My friends and partner play loads of online, multi-player games, so that drew me in. The book is full of gaming references and blog posts - which is awesome. It shows her wit and points of view but she's modest about it. I liked her character and I appreciated that even though she's smart, she talks like a 22yr old would! Finally!

Adam on the other hand, I had a harder time picturing. There are a load of books right now about millionaire/billionaire, mid-twenties, male CEOs' and I find it a massive stretch. He owns all the expensive stuff including huge boat and works 100hr weeks. Mmm yeah, just not connecting with him. I guess I like him as a character mostly, it's just those things that pull me out of the story a bit.

He drags the virginity thing out for AGES! Wealthy, young CEO; young girl falls for him; he showers her with attention; she emails calling it off; he turns up at her house convincing her to stick around...etc. At the beginning, it seemed like a better written fifty shades minus the sex. But I do have to say that while I can see a similar plot line, this book was a much better read. The way they talk and think is so much closer to an actual 20-something and their reasoning for their lives being the way they are is just so well thought out.

There weren't any real surprises, but when they happened it was still a good read. You could see him trying so hard to show her how genuine he is and her doubting everything, unsure of what he was thinking. I think that's really relatable and I like them as a couple.

This book is a great read with humour, wit, solid characters and a great story line. It's a great read for something a bit different in the romance section. I got to the end and it wasn't a cliffhanger, but I was hoping for more than that. So, onto the next book for me.

Book 2 - At Any Turn

Now, this one was a struggle for me to get into. I hate leaving negative reviews because I can understand how much goes into writing a book; but I have to be honest. If I wasn't given this to read and review, it would have been a DNF.

This book continues a few weeks after the last one. They have some stuff come up in their lives - None of these have any effect on the plot line. I mean they're used to explain that he's busy, but I found these events irrelevant.

Mia distances herself from Adam but flat out refuses to tell him why for THE WHOLE BOOK! She constantly tells him off for keeping secrets, even though she's keeping secrets. She's hot then cold and tells him she wants to 'talk', but then as soon as he brings up what's going on with her, she leaves. She hooks up with him but then tells him nothing can happen. Seriously, I just didn't like her at all after this.

This book just drags and just re-hashes the same freaking issue over and over and over and over... you get my point. I think if there were some chapters in her POV, maybe that would help? But it's like she's a totally different character and I lost interest. It was painful.

I'm reading book 3 now and I really hope it goes back to the way the first book was. Romance books are a fantasy - they're supposed to have hurdles, but this relentless arguing and dancing around everything is loosing my interest...

Eigentlich hatte ich nicht viel erwartet und die Box nur gekauft, weil es im Gaming-Genre spielt. Schon wieder ein Millionär, der auf eine arme Maus trifft. Aber Mann, habe ich mich getäuscht!

At Any Price - Buch #1

At Any Turn

At any moment

I was given a free copy of this set by the author in exchange for an honest review.

That being said here is my review.
Plot : 4
Main Characters : 4
Chemistry between the Leads : 4
Side Characters : 4
Feel/Emotions : 4
Twists : 4
Writing Style: 5

I enjoyed reading the books. I must admit I am really not a fan of stories which involve auctioning virginity. And not because I am a prude, but because its awfully presumptuous. I mean, you might be beautiful and all, but how come all the men pledging big dollars are hot looking and CEOs and Princes or whatever ! And of course it becomes more than just losing the virginity and falling for the guy !! So, I will say that the beginning of the book was pretty cliche.

So once they are in love and all, the fights begin. Like I have mentioned in my previous reviews, I guess all rich-hot-alpha candies come with an over-bearing bossy nature ! It's a requirement to maintain the allure ! The goof ups got a little maddening the middle.. And they break up !

I guess the story redeemed itself in its final book, where Adam is with Mia throughout her treatment. The struggles in life just got real and the sh*t hit the ceiling !! Both Mia and Adam had their own insecurities about giving up control causing a lot of pain for all.. In a way, Mia's treatment gave them a chance to redeem their love and understand giving control to your partner.

I loved the 'True North Draco Constellation' reference and the sentiments behind it. The compass was so meaningful !! The side characters were so well written Heath, William and even Kat !! I am not a fan of online games, but they sounded fun !!

Where to start first of all just buy the box set you will need all three , trust me
Emilia is a gamer , she writes blogs about the games she plays , her friends are players too . Her gaming BFF she never met But can tell them anything .
Maybe it’s easier as she never met them .
Heath is her true best friend and he’s gay . The guy who’d protect you no matter what .
The story starts with a online bid for her virginity she 20 plus and it’s still intact .
Thinking why not get through medical school no debt , the bid are in and the three highest bidders are vetted by Heath .
The top bidder is a guy she never though she’d meet multi millionaire gamer ....
ADAM DRAKE ..
START well it’s all,fun and games from here on end .
I read this book couldn’t keep it out of my hand , there was bits I laughed and bits I cussed .but more so end of second cried
And more tears happy and sad the third book .
This set is so well written you can’t stop reading
Loved this a easy 5 stars

I read the first book last year and really enjoyed it. The nerdy references, the sexual tension, and the nervousness.

I struggled with books two and three because of the depth of emotions. I’ve gone through some personal health struggles, and the psychology behind those books and scenes was shockingly accurate.

I read another review that said there was no character development until the last chapter. For me, it was totally spot on. In the midst of trauma, you survive and don’t change. You stick to your vices. You push people away. You try to cope in the old ways, but you’ve never been up against this big, hairy monster. You are mentally and emotionally trashed while you try to recover your health.

Absolutely brilliant and emotionally challenging to read. I cried in several spots. I felt this was a very real way for these characters to develop! I will definitely be reading more and highly recommend these books!!

Glad this book was free

So, I chose this book set to read even though the premise was dumb ie selling your virginity to pay bills off, ok , but then they played should we or should we not so much, I started to lose interest but Adam and Mia started falling for each other, then in book 2 many characters came in and so much gaming talk, I really started to skip pages. Of course Mia’s big secret happened in book 3 ( slight spoiler) and everything started to be a downer, so I skipped on to see the end. The best person in the story was long suffering Adam so I guess he deserved a HEA, but Mia could have grown a backbone somewhere amongst all those tears. I wish the author would have warned that though this book started out light it got very dark. I wasn’t prepared for that

"Anti-conservative & Anti-Religion"

If you want an immature book with an agenda then this is your series. First of all I finished the first book with only a slight issue about the immature writing and characters. The second book went straight down hill. Calling out conservatives, claiming someone with cancer who has no insurance has to cover all their medical bills, saying they don't believe in god then making a case for abortion. I was pretty repulsed when the author wrote about the male character who was super rich and successful saying he "squeezed one out." To say that I am over this book is an understatement. Hope this author likes alienating her audience. Worst money I have spent on a book! Beware...

You will laugh and you will cry with this book. It was such a great read I was so sad when it ended.

Mia is such lovable character and it was so adorable to see her try her very best to figure out the whole dating scene with Adam when she just wanted to lose her virginity to pay her bills. But as with life, nothing really goes as planned. Mia and Adam try and find their way to each other with their own set of issues and learning how each other really ticks... with a few (or many) stumbling blocks along the way.

I would definitely recommend this book as it is a great read - a little breezy, a little sad, a little heavy - but a whole load of good reading to keep you entertained.

I really enjoyed this series from Brenna Aubrey! It was a bit different than most of the romances I read, and I really liked the gaming aspect of the story - especially that Mia was a gamer, and not just Adam. I think some of the story could have been summed up more quickly than it was, but I get that it was done because of the journey the characters needed to take. Both of them definitely drove me nuts at times, but deep down I knew that the love they had between them would finally win out in the end.

Excited to read the rest of the series as there's so many characters I need to know more about!

I picked this up this boxed trilogy as a freebie or 99c based on the blurb for book 1. It started out well with a great premise and character conflict. Then came the angst. I was more invested in the solution to the game quest subplot than the main characters and their absurd and overly dramatic/angsty relationship that could have been resolved in one action that they both kept admitting they needed: Talk to each other. It would have been a dnf if it weren't for the subplot. As it was, I skimmed almost all of book 2 and most of book 3.

Played is the box set of the first three books in The Gaming System. I liked reading them and having them in one place.

At Any Price #1 ☆☆☆☆
At Any Price is the first book in the Gaming the System. The story was good, with some twists and turns that kept me reading. The characters Adam and Mia were okay. Mia frustrated me at times. Will grab the next book to see what's going to happen.

At Any Price #2 ☆☆☆
At Any Turn is book two in Gaming the System, and it continues Mia and Adams story. The back and forth and miscommunication really made me want to stop reading this story. It frustrated so much and I really started to dislike the characters. However I pushed myself to finish. I liked the secondary characters more.

At Any Moment #3 ☆☆☆☆
At Any Moment is the third book in Gaming the Series. The story is full of drama, few secrets and emotions. The characters Mia and Adam were good, although they needed to learn to communicate with eachother. Good ending to their story.

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book for an honest review.
I loved Mia & Adam and the other characters, especially Kat! I loved their journey, but didn’t like book 2, If you could chop most of that out it would be great!! I also didn’t get the gaming thing, it just lost me, too much detail, but the bare bones of the book are great. Book 3 was just heart-wenching and I couldn’t stop reading.

Book 1 could have been great if it had stopped right there.
I still think the auction was wrong.

Book 2 is only based on lying and selfish and childish behavior from her side.
I’m skipping most of the book because I just can’t stand her.
The way she treats Adam is abuse to me.
She accuses him of having secrets and she is being a hypocrite.

Book 3 I disliked her so much I skipped all the chapters of her.
And only read the chapters of Adam.

3.5 stars ✨ ✨

This was a pretty good series but book 2 and 3 really didn’t do it for me like book 1 did but it could also be my fault cause I originally started it and was hyped up but took a enormous break before starting to read the remainder of the set only cause I just couldn’t really get that involved in the second book.

The first book was great. Awesome! Exactly what I went in wanting. Then the second book happened, and I saw it coming a mile away. Then third book happened and I was confused. It wasn't a romance novel anymore, it became more of a chick lit/general fiction novel and I wasn't a fan. Reading the last chapter of a book should never have the reader going, "Thank god that's finally over!"
