She is a Japanese manga artist from Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. She resides in Tokyo.

Akane Ogura began her career as a manga artist with her first work entitled Purity 999.9 which was published in LaLa DX's July issue of 2001. She gained the Fresh Debut award in the 26th LaLa Manga Grand Prix with Purity 999.9.

seriously this manga and its mangaka deserve more credit and attention.
anyone out there who likes the different, the peculiar and doesn't shy away from perplex psychological issues around genders and love, you, you my friend should read Kanojo ni Naru Hi and i hope as hell you will enjoy it just as much as i did ^^

It’s getting better and better! Issues about relationships, developing relationships, psychological developments, and oh GENDER ISSUES! There should be an animé or live action of this!
