USA Today™ best-selling author Elizabeth Lennox writes contemporary romance novels featuring sheiks, business tycoons, royalty, and other sexy rich men. Her male lead characters are smart, driven and determined, but can still be sensitive and vulnerable. Elizabeth’s female lead characters come from a variety of backgrounds. They are strong, intelligent and independent, while still feminine and caring.

Although she wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. All during that time, though, she was always writing, using her personal experiences, dreams, and travels throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean as backdrops for her stories. To date, she has written over eighty books and sold over 5.1 million copies. Her free novellas have been downloaded over 8 million times since 2013.

Elizabeth lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Their home is just outside of Washington, D.C., and many of her novels are set in this area.

This was a sweet story steeped with a bit of angst of two people who are betrothed to someone else. Ana thought her betrothal to Prince Erik had been forgotten since he never came for her six years ago. Now she has been informed that the wedding will be taking place in three weeks. Nothing she says or does can stop it from happening. To escape from her turmoil she slips past her guards and indulges in a coffee out in public. It is there that she meets Marcus. What begins as a brief flirtation soon becomes clandestine meetings, romantic dinners, dancing and a chemistry that cannot be denied.

I really enjoyed this quick read with a twist that the reader is aware of and that the author sets up for the big showdown. Knowing it was coming, I was on tether hooks as to when, where and how Ana and Erik would learn the truth. It was a charming and enjoyable journey to be sure.

Dual POV although it is not clearly defined each time it changes

Saved by the bell instead of anyone (the HERO) making any hard choices. 😑 This book had all the right ingredients but was very badly executed. He had the gall to hand the h the ring he intended to give another woman (as far as he knew). I’m sure he put a lot of thought into that 🙄 — he just wasn’t very dreamy to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Too disappointing, I mean it has all the elements of a promising romance novella!

But the Hero was so disgusting, I can't seems to get pass through his actions and decisions.

I can totally understand that he don't want to do anything about his betrothed and will stale as much as possible. But once they were scheduled to meet, it was only decent to show his face. ( what if it was a totally different woman he met in the coffee shop, he didn't show because he was busy searching for the other girl).

So, okay, this might consider MINOR, along with spending all his time with his mastery woman without initiating any communication with his fiancee or extending any apologies personally, while, the main if not the sole reason the MCs were in America is for their engagement (very tacky). Again, it is a minor thing ( but for me it wasn't very hero like character, it is downright disgusting).

The last straw was when he went to the kingdom of his betrothed, obviously, not to stop everything, while still looking for his mystery woman. He went there to proceed with the arrangement. DISGUSTING.

TBH, I'm with the heroine, he is a cheat and was willing to make her his side chick tucked somewhere in one of his estate or what, give her illegitimate children.-- shocks, i can't, i don't know how to see it even in my rose tinted reading glasses!

I loved the intricacies of confusion...

Frustration over obligations, anger over the injustice of an arranged marriage, and devastation at realizing she loved a man she couldn't marry. Then that same man telling her he couldn't marry her, and asking her to continue their relationship after HE was married. A mistress. That was so horrifying and insulting. And Alexa she meant to him...
The woman was stunning. He'd never met a woman who affected him like she did, and she'd completely disappeared. His team couldn't find a trace of her anywhere, other than the hotel she stayed at, and it wasn't the one she had told him. The mystery frustrated him, not intrigued him. What time they'd spent in conversation, made him understand just how knowledgeable and intelligent she was. And wonder of wonders, she wasn't throwing herself at him. Then again, she also didn't know he was a prince.
The explosion of misery was inevitable. Both hiding who they were. Both hiding an engagement, yet both continued to reach out to the other. Nice read...

I have previously read this story and I don't know why I thought that this was an amazing story. Marcus/Erik is a cheater and emotionally abusive of Anabelle. She was absolutely right in thinking that his actions were horrible and should have never forgiven him. Also he turn around from being righteously angry to docile and submissive is unbelievable. Her parents were also awful forcing her to accept and fall in love with a man that had treated her horribly. I understand that this is a story about arranged marriage, but I fully think it would have been more believable for her to go into an angry/loveless marriage, than for her to fall for Marcus/Erik.

Escaping A Royal Wedding...

Fantastic read for book 1 of the Cordova Trilogy. This is Anastasia story and I swear all her idiosyncrasies made me laugh and yell at my kindle. Fun, dramatic and plenty of WTF.

Sweet Love Story

I always enjoy reading Elizabeth Lennox books. I have so many of them, I read them when I feel like real romance. And that is what I love about her books, real romance.

Sour taste

I have given this book a rating of one star because I have to admit that the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. The story was fair up until the last few pages when you knew that the two main characters would meet again. However, I must say that the ease in which "Annie" forgave "Marcus" for suggesting that she became his mistress and the times he was with her and not with his betrothed really really pushed my annoyed buttons. I know this is a romance book and therefore pure escapism but I do want at least a modicum of believability in a story, alas this book failed to deliver. I normally enjoy reading this author's books but have to say this one fell short of what I expect.

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. There was actual cheating and cheating but not really.

And the moral of the story, if you love someone you implicitly trust them, is absolute BS. You can be in love with someone and they can be untrustworthy or you could confuse closeness/intimacy with love. Either situation could apply here.

The problem with stories like these is similar to violence in video games. We have no idea who is reading this and how naive/experienced they are and what they take way from the story.

another story of miss-understanding..

yes, both Erik & Ana a bit dumb not to realize the truth about their own betrothed
but if they willing to spend just a little time to learn about one another, there will be no story

anyway, maybe not all people like this kind of story..
but this one is really my cup of coffee, so definitely 5* from me!

Love without the contract

The is yet another Elizabeth Lennox favorite of mine. The characters are royalty but very real and likable. I love how they are each in search of the elusive love of their lives but are so steeped in tradition and their obligations that they almost miss out on a lifetime together. The story is romantic and a easy and fun read.

Okay for a short read

Okay for a short read

it's silly. if it's free go for it but otherwise don't waste your money. I enjoyed it as a short read but it wasn't one that kept my attention.
