It has good explanations for the basic of the psychology but the book is somewhat long compared to what it explain.

If I had to use only one word to describe this book, it would be useful. This book is a comprehensive introduction to the specialisation, packed with an enormous volume of information and references. The breadth of coverage is impressive, and it addresses many aspects I did not expect in a textbook on clinical psychology. That said, those topics are not redundant. For example, I have never thought of forensic psychology as a part of clinical psychology, but it is. The author knew exactly what to include and when to, making the reading experience feel natural, cohesive, and logical.
This book has expanded the topics well without sacrificing necessary depth. A considerable volume of the book is allocated to two main sections: Assessments and Interventions. The author delved into some of the most commonly used methods and techniques and elucidated the theoretical ideas behind them. He also illustrated how to apply such methods through concise excerpts from real-world clinical sessions. Unquestionably, not all techniques can be included, but instead of leaving them untouched, the book briefly lists them for readers who want to investigate more.

i know this is so funny to be rating because it's a textbook i had to read for college BUT i feel like if i actively enjoyed and read the whole textbook, then i'm gonna rate it

The only thing I didn't enjoy about this book was the lack of pictures. I am such a visual learner and all of my past textbooks have been very colorful, which aided in helping my ADHD butt pay attention to the text. Otherwise, I felt it was a good textbook to introduce me to clinical psychology (and it helped me settle on my graduate degree as well).

No pictures, so it was often difficult to stay engaged, but this book is still packed with useful information and I've learned a lot from it.
