This isn't really long enough to be a novel, but I guess you could call it a novelization of the animated movie THE PRINCE OF EGYPT.

This is a lovely illustration of Moses and his journey. Although it does discuss the Bible it can be used in a personal library as well as in a History or Social studies class. This extraodinary man conquers obsticles and tryumphs over those who doubt him.
