This addition to the well-known Katz’s board book series celebrates the love and time shared between a special Grandma and her grandchildren.
Everyone is excited when Grandma comes for a visit!
Following Where is Baby’s Mommy? , this new lift-the-flap book from Karen Katz is a special tribute to grandmothers and the bond they share with their grandchildren.
Through bold illustrations, simple text, and numerous lift-the-flaps, discover all of the surprises Grandma brought with her in this endearing and charming story that is certain to have your child calling for Grandma.
Karen Katz has written and illustrated many books for children, including The Colors of Us, Can You Say Peace, My First Ramadan, Counting Kisses and Where is Baby's Belly Button. Long inspired by folk art from around the world, she was inspired to write her first book, Over the Moon, when she and her husband adopted their daughter from Guatemala, and she wanted to tell the story of welcoming Lena into their lives. Katz loves to paint and experiment with texture, color, collage and pattern. Besides an author and illustrator, she has been a costume designer, quilt maker, fabric artist and graphic designer. Katz and her family divide their time between New York City and Saugerties, New York.
Treacly and stereotypical, but my 2yo loves it. The illustrations are odd (the cooking implements above the stove look more like garden implements?!) but do have charm.
I like this interactive board book because it doesn’t have long sentences or a story. It’s very simple for little children and have lots of fun colors.
This is a very bright and colorful board book that would be great for infants. You could read this to your child before he/she goes to visit Grandma. There are also fun flaps on each page for the child to lift up and discover the answer to questions on the page.
My children's favorite from this collection. And I'm sure grandma likes to see them read it (she even gave it to them). Bright colors and fun flaps to lift. The flaps are not attached extremely well imo so if you read this a bunch you end up having to tape them all.
What a let down. We really love Grandpa and Me, where they make a pizza, and Daddy and Me, where they make a dog house. But this one is more about hide and seek with gifts from grandma. No mystery. All about receiving, not creating.
My daughter loves Karen Katz books. She really likes the inter activeness of the flip books. This is a cute one about all the things you would do with Grandma. Great book for a small gift for Grandmas.
