In spite of being a short essay around the theme, it brings very good insight about how we should treat our own words and deeds - as well as why sometimes sensitive people endeavors in unpleasant and questionable behaviors. If we step aside from individuality and try to look at things as a matter of whether we are influenced by magnetic fields and irradiation from the invisible realms - those which we can access when we cross the dream-side dominions or the true meditative state -, we'll be able to realize that the so-called astral plane (where our thought-forms and emotions develop and reside) is filled by sentient beings, such as black magicians among so many others, that might feed from ourselves. For obvious reasons, the book approaches blood as a means to reach certain entities and why one should be away from practices such as animal sacrifices. Yet, it helps us find out if we are vulnerable to spiritual attacks and how we should deal with it. More of a Kardecian approach towards Animal Magnetism than a foolish New Age reading. Worth the time spent reading it.
