4.5 STARS!

☾SO GOOD! I needed this book to remember why I love reading sports related stories! Sidney and Jared's journey through this book is very subtle. It starts when Sidney walks into The Sin Bin and immediately criticizes the menu to the man next to her. Without realizing she just said all of this to the owner - you'd think he'd yell or something? Nope! He hires her on the spot!

☾From the get go you can see the sparks between the two and their flirty banter. Too bad Sidney doesn't want anything more than a hook up. She's been burned before, by a husband to be exact...she doesn't trust easily.

☾It's not hard for Jared to fall for Sidney and for her to fall right back. It becomes a game for the two - seeing who will lose first. In my opinion it was a tie! There are a few typical roadblocks in the story including a few possible pregnancies? But shhhh! No spoilers!

I generally enjoy sports themed novels, and I liked the idea that Jared was both a hockey player and the owner of a bar.

I liked that Sidney was a former bartender who started her own business and was now working as a consultant for restaurants.

The problems I had with this were that I never believed either of them were actually what they portrayed and they kept having the same conversation, over and over. The talk during the sex was dirty...but it was the same conversation over and over, which just started to seem odd. There was no progression of the story, and the deepening intimacy of the relationship was missing.

I was disappointed by the latest in the series and I am not able to recommend this book.

A story about a determined career woman who take her mixology expertise to the business and pleasure area with a hard partying hockey player.
“I fell in love with you. So you win.”

When a patron at his restaurant critiques his drinks menu, NHL star Jared Rupp can’t help but want to know more about the sexy and smart woman. After learning that she’s a consultant specialized in image and improving said menus he hires her to help out at the Sin Bin but also wants more. Their attraction is undeniable and there’s no rule that prevents them from having fun together, but can he convince her that they could be more?
“You’re just afraid you’ll fall for me... In fact, I challenge you to a bunch of dates with me… We’ll do all those things—talk on the phone, go for walks, call each other cute nicknames… But we won’t fall in love.” ~Jared to Sidney

After an ugly divorce that left her depressed and feeling less than, Sidney Frayne has sworn off relationships and is now picking up the pieces of her life and focused on expanding her consulting business. So when the womanizing NHL player pursues her and slowly presses for more, her body says yes, her mind says no, but what does her heart say?

Don’t ask me why but I love hockey romances and I’ve been following the Aces Hockey series from the start, so I’ve been curious to know more about the sophisticated, well-dressed playboy for a while and I’m glad to say I really liked him. After getting to know him though, I wouldn’t label him as a player more like a bachelor who’s not looking for a serious relationship because of his past. But once he sees the potential he has with Sidney there’s not stopping him from finding happiness, not even Sidney herself.

Sidney is a good match for him, she’s caring and sweet even after what she lived through her divorce. And when stubbornness, fear and depression threated to take over, there was her best friend Frankie to help her through it.

I loved the character development, including the secondary ones but it did take me a bit to get on the Jared and Sidney train though. The initial flirting and attraction was great but I felt they got into bed too soon and too often during the first half of the book which to me felt a tad gratuitous and didn’t help in moving the plot forward. I did jump into the Jad+ney band wagon when their relationship started to develop into more, especially when Jared decided to play dirty in order to go after her heart and by the end I was really glad they got their happy ending even if a tad predictable.
“Show me your phone.”
He lifted one eyebrow. “That’s not usually what women ask me to show them.”
“Ha-ha. Whip it out, dude.”

The Aces Hockey team closed another season without winning the cup in this book, so I’m hoping there’s still more to come. I can’t tell who’s next to fall in the team whether it’s the trouble making rookie or the recent widower who broke my heart, but I can’t wait to find out.

Top Shelf is book #3 in the Aces Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. It’s a light, easy to read standalone full length hockey romance. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

I love Kelly Jamieson's hockey series. They can all be read as standalones, so you don't have to start with book one. They are pretty low angst, this one has just a little bit of other woman drama. Jared has an ex fling who doesn't want to give up her dream of a famous, rich husband. It's handled well and you like Jared more because of it. The writing is mature, good story line and great chemistry between Jared and Sydney. I look forward to more in the series. ARC provided by NetGalley.

"I fell in love with you. So you win."

Meet Sidney Frayne - a divorcee who is extremely jaded on love thanks to her slime of an ex husband who cheated on her and got another girl pregnant. Having left him and a job she hated behind, she's successfully started her own business doing something she loves - creating and revamping restaurants/bars. This is how she meets hockey star and restaurant owner Jared Rupp. There's an instant attraction between the two and soon they are mixing business and pleasure -both promising the other that what they're doing is a 'no strings attached' type of thing. But this is a romance book so of course feelings are involved.

The thing that initially drew me to this type of romance was that it was hockey themed. Hockey is my favorite sport and sport players are some of my faves to read in contemporary romance so perfect match. I liked that Jamieson seems to know the sport and even a little of what happens with the players when the game isn't on. I also liked how she set it in the current NHL but created her own team which allowed her more freedom to play with the characters since they weren't real players but ones she created.

Now for the romance - it was steamy, I'll give it that. You can see early on that these two are destined to fall for each other. Jared surprised me by being the more open one to an actual relationship. But Sidney bothered me a bit. I get that she's been burned and she doesn't want a commitment but there are times that she's downright rude and hurtful toward Jared. There are ways to put up boundaries without being mean. But I did like that she was driven and cared about her business. She didn't become a swoony waif around Jared, but maintained her own personality. Their banter was hilarious and her puppy was adorable.

Jamieson's books are fun summer reads for me. I will probably be reading more from this series at some point.

It’s fun to be back into Jamieson’s world and this book was exactly what I needed. I didn’t know what I was in the mood for but I got a feeling I’ll be reading a few others contemporaries next.

I like Jamieson’s straight forward writing style –you know what you’re getting and you’ll have a blast. That’s pretty much it. I liked Sidney and Jared as a couple and I wish I could’ve known them better as individuals but they were cute together.

And you guys know me, I love some cutesy tropes -friends to lovers, enemies to lovers and this book’s pick ”dating but not falling”. It was fun. The banter was fun, they were sexy (although, could Jamieson cut off the long blow job description?) and, most importantly, they worked as a couple.

Overall it was a satisfying book and I’m ready for the next ones.

Top Shelf is a fun, sports contemporary romance from Kelly Jamieson.

Jared Rupp is a NHL star and sports bar owner.

Sidney Frayne has taken her love of bars and created a company to help make them over. She has her sights on revamping Jared Rupp’s bar, now she just has to convince him.

Jared is known for his playboy ways but he’s got his sights on Sidney. Jared is just not sure if he wants to let someone mess with his baby, his bar.

Fun and flirtatious athlete meets seriously driven career woman in Top Shelf. Antics, romance and chemistry that just can’t be denied, Jamieson has created another tale of those hot hockey players and the woman who learn to love them.

I received this ARC copy of Top Shelf from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication October 18, 2016.

ZZZZZZZ.....what oh yeah give me a minute to wake up...oh I am supposed to write a review?

I just have to say this was a total snore fest. Boring, predictable, and you could skip chapters without missing anything. The apex of the story was not thrilling or believable because you knew darn well it wasn't true.

There was tons of dirty talk...yet it was the same dirty talk every time. I really didn't feel the wow factor at all with them.

Oh well. You might like it, it just wasn't for me :(

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

4.5 stars

A chance meeting leads to so much more in Kelly Jamieson's Top Shelf and it is a fantastic addition to the Aces Hockey series. Watching two people who both insisted they only did "casual relationships" realize having someone in your life to share your ups, downs and everything in between (and okay yes, some sizzling hot sexy times) fall in love was pretty damn priceless. Fun and sexy but with a whole lot of emotion; Top Shelf was an immensely enjoyable read.

Hockey star Jared Rupp is immediately intrigued when a woman steps in his restaurant and bar and pronounces his drink menu unimaginative. Sidney Frayne is pretty embarrassed after she unknowingly trashes the Sin Bin's owner's menu especially give the sparks flying between them, but then he wants her to meet his staff and there's no doubt he'd like something a lot more personal with her.

There is no doubt Jared has enjoyed his life as a celebrity including having the finer things in life and women when he wants them. Jared doesn't think he's interested in marriage and family and he believes that hockey and his bar should have his complete attention, but there is something about Sidney that makes him want to spend time with her. After recovering from a nasty divorce and working to get her fledgling business off the ground, Sidney is convinced she doesn't need a man in her life or want a relationship and while she puts up a good fight, Jared sneaks under her defenses.

I enjoyed the "no strings" arrangement these two had and the intense physical relationship with Jared being very experiences and Sidney not that experienced it was interesting watching her really enjoy her sexuality and there was no doubt Jared enjoyed helping her with that. I found it very interesting that it was Jared who wanted to spend more time, wanted overnights and sought out Sidney when he'd had a bad day or needed to vent. Sidney remained steadfast for a very long time that she didn't want a relationship even when it became obvious they had moved into one without really thinking about it.

I liked these two together and felt they complimented each other; intelligent, hard working and fun they fit together well.

This series has been an easy one to love and Top Shelf just seemed to have a bit more of a serious note to it that the others, and that's not a bad thing, it just had a different feel. Well written with entertaining characters and a whole lot of feels, this was an exciting story.

DNF at 52%. My potatoes, I waste time on this one. Review later.

Sidney has her own business and accidentaly she says that the meu of Sin Bin is bad. Jared is the owner and she finda her hot. He hires, they talk and start to have sex. There is nothing interesting here. Its a everyday relationship. She helps him in his bar, their have sex. He gets angry with his time for not work harder. The women its all over him. There is no major problem or anything that make the book stand.

Sidney was cheat out and does not want get involve they are acting like they are dating. Sidney was OK yet she never goes after him and assume a lot about him. They do not communicate. The issues are made up of nothing.
They are plain boring actually.

At first I wasn't so crazy about this story feeling they jumped into bed a bit to fast but about halfway things got a bit more real especially when the other characters got more involved. Although there was still lots of sex, the ending was good enough to up my rating. Pro hockey player Jared is attracted to Sidney who he hired to upgrade his bar/restaurant.

I enjoyed the previous books in the Aces Hockey series and have been looking forward to Jared's story for a while.

I really liked the setting with his bar/restraurant and Sidney helping him with his concept. It was interesting how she was doing her job and I would have enjoyed reading more about it.

Jared and Sidney been fun characters. I enjoyed their bantering and they had some intense chemistry. I liked how their chemistry and passion was growing throughout the story. Sometimes a few things went a bit too quick, especially to the end, but overall enjoyed the story a lot.

I am really a huge fan of the Aces team and it's so great that the whole team is involved in the individual stories. They feel like a huge family.

4 stars. I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, a few slight spoilers had me feeling a bit weary... but it ended up being the best in the series thus far.

The hero and heroine meet when she comes into his bar and insults his drinks menu. She’s a mixology consultant and he hires her to revamp his bar’s drink menu. Ofc he’s also very attracted to her and they start a no-strings sex relationship. Feelings slowly grow between them and although she tries to resist feeling anything for him, they do eventually get the most complete HEA of any book in this series.

Safety: There’s some OW drama in this book... although the hero isn’t interested (she’s a clingy ex), and some pregnancy/infertility issues. Heroine was cheated on by her ex (5 years prior). There’s also quite a bit of time spent on the story of the hero of book 5 (Max Hall) who’s wife dies of cancer in this book.

What a pleasant surprise!
I picked this book with zero expectations. And it happened to be a very good read.
What I liked: the MCs were adults, both 30. They were not perfect, but human. Their doubts were reasonable.
No unnecessary drama and dark secrets, but some tough topics
Insta-lust, but growing love.
h was smart, was passionate about her job and above all not clingy. Cute dog :-)
H was a good guy despite his player past.
Some OW drama, but no cheating.
Maybe a little bit too sweet sometimes, but not cheesy.
(One of the longest descriptions of a BJ I’ve read :-) lol)

I really enjoyed this book!

Gah! I love this series! I love that it takes place in Chicago. I love that the guys on the team are down home good guys. And I really love that the female leads are all sassy and strong and worth the effort the hero has to put in to woo them! Loved the back story on both of the main characters. Can not wait to read more from this author and this series.

I got an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review :) this story sat on my kindle for a few months before I finally got around to reading it, and now I am kicking myself for that, because I really enjoyed it :) it's the third installment in a series, but worry not if you are not caught up, because I haven't read the first two either, and it wasn't a problem at all ;) so either way definitely check it out :) and let me tell you why you should do just that... ;)

First of all, Jared, our main hero is a hockey player... I don't know about you, but they are my favourite athletes to read about... I have no idea why, since I haven't seen any game, live or on television, and I don't know the rules... ;) #TrueStory :) but there's just something about them that makes my heart melt :) and I know I can't be the only one :) anyway... he is a hockey plaey, but also owns a bar... and Sidney is a... well... a mixologist of sort... :) she helps improve menus and overall perofrmance of clubs, restaurants and such :) their first meeting, when she insults his bar without knowing that he's the owner is hilarious :) of course he hires her after that, because why not? ;) both of them are confident, although each of them have stuff they have to deal with... commitment issues and past experiences that still affects them... but they are both strong and know what they want... and let me tell you... they are explosive together :) the attraction is defintiely there from the start and I adored that they immediately acted on it... :) after that, she was actually the one who didn't want anything more between them... so he figured out a way to convince her to give them a try... and no, I'm not gonna tell you what exactly that was :)

When it comes to secondary characters... like I mentioned before, this story works perfectly well as a standalone, but all the mentionings of couples from previous books, or people who will or may get their books in the future will definitely get you excited to read all of them :) I for sure am definitely gonna go back to read those two previous books... or maybe I'm gonna read the next one first? I'm still not sure :) but what I do know, is that this was definitely not my last book in this series... cause I need more... :) I see a lot of potential in certain guys that were introduced... or maybe just introduced to me because they appeared in previous stories ;)

It was another book by the lovely Kelly Jamieson that I read, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it :) I gave it 4,5 stars, because even though it was really good, Sidney's reaction near the end of the story when it came to... well, I can't tell you exactly because it's too spoilerific :) I thought it was too much... I understand the knee jerk reaction in the moment, but I expected her to shake it off sooner... but besides that, I loved this story :) it was such a fun and quick read for me :) the interactions between our main couple were amazing, and I adored seeing them grow closer to one another :) the writing style was very entertaining and made me keep reading chapter after chapter... and before I knew what was happening, the book was over :) so I definitely highly recommend you guys to pick it up :)

XOXO

Top Shelf is top shelf, indeed! I love the sexy banter, the dirty talk, the hockey environment and the 2 sweet leads. Jared and Sidney meet at his bar/restaurant the Sin Bin one night when Jared spies the beautiful blond walk into the place alone. She's talking to herself about the cocktail menu sucking, so he's immediately taken back and wants to know more. They meet and the attraction is immediate between the two and their relationship progresses from there. But, alas, it's not really a relationship, as they agree to it just being some fun between them, with no dating, no falling in love, just fun between the sheets. He's not looking for a commitment, and she's been badly hurt by her ex husband, so it seems to be a perfect plan for the 2 who aren't looking for a relationship beyond the bedroom.

Of course, as is almost always the case, both develop feelings, so they agree to date exclusively, but still, no falling in love, just a no strings attached, fun in the sack relationship. Between Jared's busy hockey schedule, Sidney's busy consulting business, and Jared's crazy, stalker ex, and both their adamant vows that they're not looking for forever, the obstacles to their relationship just might derail it from ever progressing.

I really like Jared, he's sweet, so sexy, and incredibly kind hearted, both with his fellow teammates and with Sidney. Sidney frustrated me a little sometimes with the way she shrank from Jared, but, given her past with her ex husband, I guess it is understandable that she kept her heart locked away. Their chemistry is electric, though, and helped elevate Top Shelf from what could have been a fairly standard romance.

DNF at 20%. It's not at all a bad book. It's just not for me.

The two leads are utterly gorgeous, beautifully clothed, fairly successful, talented, glossy young things (both around 30). They each had a backstory to give them a little humanity, she's been divorced for five years, he came from a poor Detroit neighborhood. And they are decent sorts, honest, hardworking, sex positive, polite...

But it's just not my thing. Feels like going to the mall instead of a quirky local shop. If you know what I mean.

This was the somewhat familiar trope of people swearing they'll never fall in love again. And, of course, that never works out. I loved that Sidney wasn't super into hockey, so she wasn't gaga for Jared strictly because of his profession. And I loved that Jared was so super supportive of Sidney's business and talked her up to other restaurant and bar owners. And it was cute to watch them both fall and try so hard not to. But it was great that Sidney ended up with the one thing (beyond love) that she never thought was in the cards for her. Sweet story.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

5 highly charged and emotional stars *

This is the third in the series, and I would highly recommend that you read them in order - each one features a new couple, but the stories continue through the books. I am assuming that you have read the previous books in my review.

Truly this book took me from some really sad lows and tears to some lovely humour; and through some jolts in the road to some delicious, hot and steamy happiness. Reading more of Max and Ariana's story was going to be difficult, we knew that from the last book - but it didn't make it any easier. Seeing it from Jared's POV was still devastating. I certainly needed a tissue or two. Beautifully done, Ms Jamieson, beautifully.

Sidney was a fabulous addition to the cast - dynamic, slightly fragile, yet sassy and excellent at her job. She was the perfect match for Jared, even if they persuaded each other to play a game. Watching them was painful at times, but having faith in the author is a romance reader's particular type of kink. Add in some great friends on both sides, some super hockey moments (and some painful ones) and a cute little dog, and this worked for me!

Really good, emotional book, with just enough of everything - I recommend you have a tissue to hand, and a cool drink for the hotter moments.

I was already a solid fan of these series, but I really loved watching these two let go of the past and allow themselves the possibility of a beautiful future.

Both Jared and Sydney have seen the dark side of relationships. and weren't looking for anything beyond a little physical fun. But the more time they spent together, the deeper their friendship became, and eventually love. I really loved the way Jamieson let it unfold. It was those little signs, where you can tell love is happening.

Sydney's backstory broke my heart, and I loved when I saw a certain part of her HEA coming. I wanted it for her so much, and I loved that it was part of Jared and Sydney's story.

With this book, I am now back to where I began this series, with Max Hall's book. The last two books gave me a little peek into Max before, and I really appreciate that Jamieson played the long game with his story.

Overall: Another fabulous Aces Hockey book, that was fun, sexy, and had an ending that left me with a huge smile on my face.

Hockey star Jared Rupp notices the beautiful woman enter his bar and when she sits down next to him he is intrigued. She gives her opinion of the drink menu peaking his interest even more.

Sidney Frayne knows that a man like Jared wants her but she also knows from her own experience that no strings is the best option when it comes to giving in to her desires. However, neither expect to fall for one another. What happens when one of them begins to want more?

I liked this one quite a bit. I thought the chemistry was intense and liked that they both felt like they did not have more to give. Sidney was an intriguing character who you wanted to know more about as the story progressed. Great read.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters felt more mature, authentically carrying the baggage of life. I felt fully committed to their HEA from quite early. The best in the series so far. A random aside: It felt odd when the whole team seemed to be discussed in this book that Andrew Robb (provided I’ve remembered the name of the MMC in book 1.5 correctly) has never been mentioned again, I’m wondering if it was written later 🤷‍♀️ and if so why it wasn’t put later in the series

Top Shelf is Kelly Jamieson’s third sports themed romance in the Aces Hockey series, featuring dynamic and successful NHL players of the Chicago Aces. I’ve read and enjoyed the previous books in the series, each hero different in character but driven and hardworking hockey stars who find themselves slowly being pulled off the ‘player’ roster one by one, and into committed relationships. Ms. Jamieson has the knack of mixing just the right amount of heat and heart in her hockey romances while showing a clear understanding and love of the sport. This one happens to be my new favorite, with Sidney Frayne, an equally strong and business minded heroine earning the respect, admiration and love of team player and restaurant owner Jared Rupp.

Right off the bat, hats off to the cover gods because this guy has exactly the look of someone who plays and fights hard for what he wants, and that defines Jared to a T. Jared was raised by a single mom who struggled to keep him in hockey as a child, knowing how much he loved and excelled at the sport. He repaid her dedication by giving it his all, and becoming the successful player he is today. He’s a friendly, competitive and intelligent man who knows that hockey isn’t going to be his career forever now that he’s reached his thirties. Accordingly, he’s using his smarts to run a restaurant and bar, called the Sin Bin where the team hangs out after hours. When he meets entrepreneur and mixologist Sidney, her comments on the datedness of his drink menu (made without knowing he’s the owner) convince him that he should consider hiring her to develop a business plan for improvements. Sidney is a little embarrassed to realize who Jared is, but smart enough to jump at the business opportunity in front of her. She’s a former bartender, an award winner for mixing cocktails, and has taken her skills and schooling to launch her own business working with restaurants and bars to understand their clientele and upgrade accordingly. The troublesome part is the attraction she feels for Jared that is clearly returned. Getting involved with a client is definitely not the professional tone she wants to take, but being self-employed means the only one concerned about the fall out in the end will be her. She’s still wary after a previous failed relationship with a cheating ex though, and commitment is the furthest thing from her mind. Jared might be able to convince her to have a fling with him, but when he realizes that it won’t be enough for him, will he be able to convince Sidney to go all in?

Jared is fairly predictable hero material. He’s charming, smart, and sophisticated. Having grown up as a have not, he makes up for it now with designer clothes, fancy cars and an appreciation for good food and drink ( good reasons for wanting his own restaurant to be notable). He doesn’t lack for female companionship, and indeed there is an ex-girlfriend of sorts who plays into the story as a puck bunny who doesn’t get the message that he’s just not interested. When Jared starts seeing Sidney, he surprises himself by how quickly he wants to take their relationship to the next level, despite her reservations. The sex is hot (and Ms. Jamieson knows her way around a steamy scene), but he wants more. He wants to share more than just good times with Sidney. The hockey team is struggling, with rookie egos causing problems on and off the ice. More seriously, one of their own is losing his wife to cancer, a particularly poignant subplot in an otherwise easygoing story that affects all the players. Being able to talk about these things with Sidney makes him want to have her around permanently if she’ll let him.

Sidney comes across as a focused and bright young woman. She’s taken the skills she has and turned them into something viable, a fledgling career that is taking off as more and more restaurants acquire her services. It’s not without its challenges though. What I particularly liked about her character (and the story in general) is that when she brings up her ideas to Jared and his restaurant manager she doesn’t pander to Jared just because they are involved in a sexual relationship. She doesn’t tell him what he wants to hear – she tells him what he needs to do to make his restaurant and bar top notch. Jared is reluctant to accept her suggestions, and she makes it clear that he doesn’t have to make all the changes she proposes, as ultimately it’s his choice. But she doesn’t back down either, and I really liked seeing her confidence and forthrightness, traits that Jared admires even if he isn’t sure of the way forward for his business.

There is a lot to like about this story. The main characters are engaging and clearly well suited. The romance is both sweet and very sexy as Jared tries to win Sidney over. The hockey players go through some rough times on and off the ice (and the on ice scenes are well described but not too technical for those unfamiliar with the sport). Readers who enjoy a good sexy sports romance should definitely put this story and the Aces Hockey series at the top of their list.

Jared is a hockey player and a restaurant and bar owner.

Sidney is a former bartender starting her own consulting business for restaurants and bars. She also has a background in marketing.

The attraction and interest is there from the first meet. They have sex, they talk about the work she’s doing for him, they have sex, they talk about work, you get the idea. The relationship didn’t feel like it moved to the next level. Their conversations seem to circle and not evolve. And the challenge Jared threw down? Really? Lots of repetition in conversations and love scenes.

This is the third book in the series but my first. I am not inspired to go back for the previous ones or look for future ones.

I have been waiting for Jared story since I read Major Misconduct, he seemed to have a bit of mystery about him, especially since he played for the Aces Hockey Team and also owned "The Sin Bin" bar/restaurant. Not many men can hold down two careers successfully and he does it effortlessly. Well, that was until Sidney waltzes into the bar and turns her nose down at the cocktail menu...or should I say the lack of one.

Top Shelf (Aces Hockey, #3) by Kelly Jamieson

Sidney was just what Jared needed to get "The Sin Bin" to where he wanted it to go, he doesn't want to be the neighborhood sports bar, he would like to to be more upscale especially since he has a talented chef that does all the cooking for the restaurant as well as the bar. Sidney is a consultant that helps bars and restaurants revise their menus to get the type of clientele that they would like, whether that means they need a new drink and food menu or they need to revamp their entire business.

Neither Jared nor Sidney are looking for a relationship but they have a chemistry that neither wants to deny so they go into a NO STRINGS fling because you can control whom you fall in love with...HA!!!!!

“You’re just afraid you’ll fall for me... In fact, I challenge you to a bunch of dates with me… We’ll do all those things—talk on the phone, go for walks, call each other cute nicknames… But we won’t fall in love.” ~Jared

This was a great addition to the series, as with any series you will get more background if you start with the first book and continue but if you wanted to you could read this as a standalone but I will warn you that there will be a couple of secondary stories that you may not understand without prior knowledge of the couples in question.
