5 whacky stars in a good way

This book was given to me for my honest review

Horror movies always have a fascination about them. Sure they are meant to be scary but what about the funny parts, the look through the movie when watching it to find out more than the naked eye allows us to see. The eyes can be the key to watching the infamous movies that puts a chill in our souls. Can that chill that comes about us be tamed or will we forever get that sensation as we watch the screen of infamous fascination?

As a mystery comes into this town it is up to Detective LeDoux and Detective Riley to find out what or who is creating all this mystery of woman and men. It seems as if some high prominent residents have taken up some extracurricular activities with women that are not their significant others. Also it seems like the towns not so decent women that come from well off families have been coming up roses but as time progresses we come to understand it is not just the women but men have now began turning up as well. But as the men start to drop off as the new target in one man’s rant one thing always remains the same. The man’s rant has become habitual. Will Detective LeDoux and Detective Riley be able to figure out the mystery of the man behind the rants or will this continue and become more and more as time goes by?

This man that has the rant knows exactly what he is doing he thinks he is doing all this for the best of the town but as we come to see he only has for one reason to do this. He believes that he comes off free that he is untouchable with the way things are done but will he make one fatal mistake and become known? Will he continue to wreak havoc in this town or will he make that one mistake that stands out above them all and be captured in his wake?

To the author: This is the first of your books that I have read and you had me enthralled from page 1 and held me to the very end. You took happenings that happen to women in everyday life and brought mystery about it with pizzazz. Bringing mystery and rant of one man that thinks he is above all is a great escape worth reading. I hope your readers find this book just as amazing as I did.

To the readers: Please explore this book and enjoy it just as I did.

Happy Reading

This was a fascinating book. It keeps you guessing as to who the killer was to the very end. I never would have guessed that one. Here we get to see the mind of the killer in chapters as we watch what is going on around him. We watch as the woman become virtual Dominatrix’s and what they think about it. We saw why they went into this job. Some out of necessity and others out of a desire to feel wanted. Riley and LeDeux the detectives in charge of each murder were put in knots as each case put them into a frustrated state. AS the deaths went from the women to men they got more frustrated and wanted to solve and end the killings. Neither expected such a series of secrets to come forth. To have such high influential people to be able to be brought done by this case if it came out about them. The one who brings down the killer is his last obsession Bree. Bree who went into this world to pay bills. As she gets out of debt she loves what the job made her feel so she continues. This gets the killer even more obsessed and he changes tactics wanting her only to himself. Bree who loses her love and than finds out she more in debt than originally thought. This has her go more into the job and increase her clients so she can keep her life and her children’s from changing. This has the killer more obsessed. So much is happening in this book it keeps you reading to find out what will happen next. You are entranced and by the writing of each twist in the tale and as you delve more into the complexities of this world you want to know who is hurting people. A gripping tale that keeps you until the very end

Bree and Tom LeFluer live a good life or so they think. Nice home two children in private school, Boy and Girl. Tom makes good money, at least, he did when they first got married. Now his hours have been cut back and the money is not enough to cover the bills. Bree can't figure out why they can't make ends meet. She loves her husband but he no longer pays much attention to her. She finds an ad for easy money at home so she goes on an interview. It is an escort service that also has web Dominatrix. She decides she can do this while everyone is gone from home and no one will get hurt, or so she thinks. She gets really popular as time goes on and some of her clients want to meet with her and offer her too much money to turn down. While all this is going on in Louisiana Captain LeDoux and his partner Riley are trying to find a murderer. He is targeting professional women. After a few weeks the killer changes his MO and starts to waste men. Could there be a connection? As they try to catch a killer little do they know he has his eye on Bree. This is a longer book apx. 300 pages but it is interesting. I go for more romance. This book has a lot of explicit sexual scenes so it is not for everyone. This is a suspense novel and I think if you like suspense you will love it. I am expecting another book in this series.

I was hired to proofread this book post-publication. The only aspects of the book that I influenced were spelling and grammar. The author is not aware that I'm posting this review. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review unreliable, so be it, but this is my honest review.

This story is told in omniscient third person, giving us glimpses into several different characters lives. This gives us a wide range of experience for the story, but also leads to some repetitiveness. The repetitive nature of the story serves a purpose though, demonstrating a couple different things, so it wasn't particularly annoying to me.

Usually I can figure out who the killer is in a book like this fairly early on, but Secrets kept me guessing until the end. I honestly basically suspected every single male character at least once, and most of them were my prime suspect on more than one occasion.

Overall I give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it kept me guessing for so long.
