" Crave" ;while the book is a stepbrother romance Ms Alpha also deals with the very serious issue of anorexia also and how love and care can help to generate change.
Tessa Silver as a young high school freshman is the outsider, teased and made fun of by the mean " it" girls for her curves and baby fat and overlooked by the boys. Tessa as a result prefers her solitude and her books even when she is at home with her mother so when her on informs her that she is remarrying and James and his son Adam will be moving in with them.
Unsure of what to expect she is surprised to find herself attracted to her new stepbrother and even more so that though he is a few years older and a senior he appears interested in really knowing her and wanting to spend time together.
Adam finds himself mutually attracted to Tessa but it is obvious to him that she is inexperienced, shy and hiding, which he can not understand, she is beautiful, with curves to die for and great to hang out with ; he finally gets to see why when he observes the girls at school who treat Tessa well when he is around go to trash talking her and making fun of her when he is not, but to spite Adams defense of her and his support Tessa falls back into her safe mode of isolation and avoidance and starts pushing him away; though for Tessa what she really wants is Adam but she does not fit in with his friends. And then there is the situation of what people would think of them since they are now brother and sister.
All too sol the school year is past and Adam is leaving for College, off to Culinary school in Chicago.
Adam decides to have a last big party before he leaves and falls just short of begging Tessa to attend, but for Tessa seeing these girls hang all over him is too much and she retreats to the safety zone of her room; but her room does not offer protection from Adam drunk freind who pushes his way and and tries forcing himself upon her, bad move for him, freind or not Adam's protective and feelings of ownership take over coming just short of beating his buddy to a pulp. For Adam at this point besides being in the mode of needing to care for Tessa he can not stop himself from laying a claiming kiss on her that she matches equally and fervently. Adam leaves her to clean the house out and promises to be back , but Tessa falls asleep before he comes back and awakes to find him gone for school in the morning.
Unknowingly for Adam this is the tipping point for Tessa into her eating disorder , her misguided belief that he pushed her away , that he really did not want her, toofT, too quiet, not popular .
Years go by and Tessa is a successful model, but also malnourished and having just been released from the hospital again , can not go back home to her mom to recoup, she feels the need to go to Adam.
For Adam Tessa showing up on his doorstep is a torturous blessing, the girl he could not get over the one who refused to talk to him,even though he tried to apologize for leaving without waking her , for not waking her. When he found her sleeping and just tucking her in ; of course she can stay but seeing she has fallen back into the depths of her disease she has to agree to his rules. She has to eat what he makes and eat healthy shouldn't be too hard right afterall he is a fairly rebound chef.
These two fall into a pretty routine life together and Tessa actually starts getting better,these two go back and forth trying to resist their mutual attraction and desire for one another , but loose the battle several times leading to some pretty hot scenes.
However nothing is ever simple and easy and uncomplicated and gets more complicated when Tessa's abusive ex boyfriend comes into the picture.
Though the journey to get to an HEA is troubled these two finally make it and realize what others think in the end means nothing!

This book made me hungry and hopeful at the same time. Some of the food that Adam made me hungry!! But at the same time he was mindful of what needed to be done for Tessa. Very good book. Has "real" life issues that will make a person wonder what will happen next. HEA not a cliffy.

Wow hot read
I loved this is step sibling story. I loved how Adam fell for his new step sister the first he met her. I loved how the story would be in the here and now. Then would go back to what happen in the past. I really enjoyed how they finally get back together after her ex tried to break them up. Remember they aren't blood related.

Got this as an arc for an honest review. And OMG...so fell in love with this heartwarming story. Adam stole my heart...Tessa too took a piece of my heart. I can relate the the bullying ~ don't know why girls have to sometimes be so mean. I've never read a step brother story quite like this one. This one will take you heart & soul...I loved it & hope others do as well.

This book is about Adam and Tessa who are step siblings. The way their love blossomed was beautiful. I felt this stepbrother book was way different from all the others I've read in the past. The epilogue made me smile. I'm glad that even after Tessa's ex ruined everything they managed to get back together.
