Nikolai Rykov spent a year in America under the alias Vladimir Zarachenko; where he headed his criminal organization. Then he was betrayed and sent to prison in Russia. After the charges were dropped, he was out for revenge. All evidence pointed to the one family, he actually aided. They were in his debt, and this is how they repaid him. He would get his revenge one way or another, and the young beautiful daughter Bianca was looking like their only bargaining chip. Nikolai is rough, unapologetic and instantly in love with the enemy's own. Bianca had a secret crush. She kept her feelings about him to herself. That is, until she'd been caught by her mother. Forcing her to move on, her mother accidentally pushes her and her family into the arms of trouble. What happens when her crush becomes her captor? Suddenly there was a commotion at the front door, and playtime was interrupted. In mere seconds, the room was filled with armed men. Luciano slid his wife’s chair behind him as she grabbed the baby from his seat. “I’d knew you’d come,” Luciano said as Bianca turned to the lead gunman—her heart crumbling.
Hot Russian mobster alert! Bianca has loved Nikolai for years, and Nik is strongly attracted to her. When he finds out the girl of his dreams is about to get married, he kidnaps her and makes her his wife. Steamy and sweet read with a perfect epilogue. I love this author!
2.5 stars This is the second book I have read from this author and neither have held my interest. I was easily distracted and bored while reading them. Neither the H nor h are compelling or fleshed out enough for me to really care about. There is nothing specifically wrong with this story or the book, I just could care less about it. Although I do appreciate that the author has produced several "safe" reads, including this one.
Wow just a great sweet read that made me smile. It was hot but not gross and all the sex was consensual thank God! I don't think it was that simple in real life cause if he had not fallen for the daughter he would have had the whole family killed in an act of vengeance. This was good because he was crazy for her and so was she. Can't imagine what she was feeling when she married her dream man or even seeing him in the flesh. A great read with just enough sex to keep it interesting. On my keeper list.
Nikolai Rykov had been setup, he was sent to prison because someone had betrayed him and all evidence points to the one family. Bianca had a secret crush Nikolai, she never met the man but something told her he was the one she was meant to be with. After he is hauled off to jail, she moves on and becomes engaged to another.
Nikolai wants revenge and it wasn't until he saw a picture of Bianca does he realize he will get it in an unusual way. Bianca will become his bride and everything he finds out will determine the fate of her family.
I wanted to like this one but some of the dialog just blew me over. Nikolai comes off pure alpha initially but at other times he is so out of character that it didn't make sense. A bit disappointed in this one.
3.5** Russian mob boss meets Italian American mob princess, and before you can say" pass the vodka and canolli",it's insta lust/lurve!I am actually liking this author ,and enjoyed this couple.
Love triangle? Cheating? HEA? Any Descriptive Sex w/OW/OM/Ex? Would I read more by this author/or in this series? Maybe, but not for now. Rating: 3 stars
Review
Love how the H feels about h. It's definitely love on sight for both of them but in different time intervals (h sees him two years before H sees her). What I missed while reading was more description in general. The story does not flow as smoothly as I would like it to.
The Russian's Captive is a really short story (round 100 pages) packed with action, mystery, romance and hot scorching sex. ;)
I've rated other books by this author and I tend to have the same complaints. Again, the writing was too immature. The h didn't fight when she was captured and fell into insta-lust immediately. They had sex way too quickly which killed what could have been good sex scenes. The H's possessiveness felt fake and I wanted to punch him. Didn't care much for the story either.
Pretty sexy read! Bianca has loved Nikolai for years, and Nik has been obsessed with her for some time. When he realized she's about to get married, he kidnaps her and makes her his. It was a fast paced, OTT, possessive safe read. It just stretched a little bit towards the last half. 4/5
DNF my issues are not with the story or the characters. The first thing that bothered me was too many people talking. Not only is there too many people talking there is no break indicating whose POV you are reading. I had pretty much knew I was done but the final straw was a sex scene with Luciano and his wife Amber. Nothing bad about the sex but honestly don't make the editing mistake of inserting the h's name in place of the wife's. Especially when it's his sister. Yuck! But I can see how that happens when there is nothing separating the POVs. If you don't mind several characters talking you may love the story but this personally drives me crazy!
This book was a 3.5 for me. I always round up on .5 anything because that's is what's fair. Anyway. I liked this book much much better than book one. It started of a pretty good and then the writing seemed a little clinical. Parts of the story was a little bland but towards the end of the book the writing took off. I think the author hit her writing zone at that point.
A smexy and quick read. I didn't bother the read the first book in this series because I couldn't stomach the whole assault thing. I don't even know if it was descriptive or not but I wanted to avoid it anyways. It didn't seem to matter story wise because they kind of recap her ordeal throughout the book since it was Bianca's brother. Anyways, Nikolai was a sexy as hell mobster trying to get revenge for his imprisonment and takes Bianca partially as revenge but mostly cause it was lust at first sight. Is it bad that I found Nikolai was almost too sweet and I was hoping for him to be a bit more forceful with his 'captive'....
Bianca has loved Nikolai for two years and all just from seeing his picture. Her mother wants her to try to move on since she believes there will never be anything between them because Nikolai is in prison. Nikolai Rykov learns that the Rossi family is the reason he had been sent to prison, so now that he is out he plans to get revenge. The instant he lays eyes on a picture of Bianca Rossi he makes plans to take her and make her his forever. This is a great read and I loved it.
This is the second book in the Captive series. I love books about the Mob & I love books about hot, sexy Russian Alpha males, well this book had both ! I really hope there are going to be more books in this series ! Nikolai Rykov is head of the Russian Mob who was deported from the U.S. & sent to a Russian prison. Someone set him up & all the evidence points to the Rossi family (from Luciano's Captive) which he cannot understand because he is the one that saved Luciano & his wife, Amber when they were held hostage. Nikolai sets out for the U.S. so he can get revenge & when he sees a picture of Bianca Rossi he knows he has to have her. Bianca Rossi is Luciano's little sister & has been secretly in love with Nikolai ever since she first saw his picture in a newspaper. Nikolai was hot as hell & I loved him & Bianca together.
I love Russian mob books. Nickolai's not the type of mobster I'm used to. He fell into that world after his father was murdered. The spiral starts there. Bianca fell in love with the dream of a man. She's never met him but he unknowingly owns her heart. Lies, set ups and deceit have twisted themselves into a dark, ugly beast. After 2 years in hell the beast is coming back. This book was really good. I read it without reading book 1 and had no problems understanding.
The Russians Captive. (The Captive Series #2)by C.M. Steele aptive
Good book mob book and love story never seen a man love someone as .much he loved Baincia it all ended well I enjoyed it I think you will to Margie Moran
She never fails to write such gripping stories. Nikoli and bianca's story was sweet with some serious page turning heat. Imagine a scarred dark soul and young naive heroine insta-love alpha male, now throw in some soprano drama. That's this book! Amazing and a must read!!!
It was an interesting story with dominate males of course. Mafia style feuding between families that discover trader in there must. All is resolved. They've happily ever after.
I loved Bianca and Niko's story. I love that she does not put up with any of his shit. She pushes him to think of a different perspective. Loved the resolve of Amber and Luciano's story in the book...I am looking forward to Sergei's story!!
