Praise for the first book in the Gabby, Angel of God, and Greg “Truly one of a kind story that grabs and won't let you go.” –Mike. “Beautifully written, a definite must read for anyone who's ever lost someone close to them. Greg Sandora never disappoints his readers, and this novel is no exception.” – SJDH “After reading the Jack Canon series I was surprised at the soft spoken simplicity and sensitivity of the story of Gabby. . .Gabby fits in its own unique space. Having grown up in Maine, Greg Sandora is at his peak strength when writing about the city of Portland, its people and the kind of in everybody else's business culture.”- Brian. Reading Gabby, Angel of God will leave you feeling good about your life and dreaming of heaven.
My Dad and Mom were artists, my father painted and my mother wrote poetry and loved to garden. Most Saturdays we loaded up the 1970 Chevy Impala to trek to a one man show somewhere or other. I took a different track graduating with a business degree; owning and operating an Award Winning Franchise Fitness Center. Currently a professional manager I am living in Florida with my beautiful wife and children, and following my passion.
Greg's new book, Jack Canon's Women of the House will be released in November of 2013!
what would you do if you were given a guardian angel and we're able to see the past present and future. in the story we learn what one man is willing to do to change the future for the better. it's an interesting read that also takes a unique twist to the entire religious concept. however I was not quite sure what the point of Bo's backstory being baseball had to actually do with the story. overall it's an interesting read that leaves you want a cliffhanger wondering where the others going to take you next. I enjoyed the stories religious points, that heaven truly is heaven, whatever your heart desires is what it is to you, that you could look down on your loved ones and it doesn't seem like an eternity. I do wish we had a little bit more information about the presidential candidates.
I have read the first book in this series and I have to say you don't have to read it to read this story. The Protector can be read as a stand alone. With this story it was kind of interesting to see what was going to happen. Bo is a baseball player and really good but it seems that Gabby needs him for something else that he can not say no to. He needs to help defeat evil that has big plans for the world. He not only embarks on a journey to defeat evil but he also gets to see what Heaven looks like and it just seems normal nothing like he expected. When Bo decided what he wanted to do to help out Portland and meet the little girl and her family I couldn't help but feel for them and their situation. It brings to light how many people might be in the same situation. I really liked how the villain was portrayed in this story, it seems he has always had evil in his heart so it makes him the perfect person for this story. Now we do see some character growth with Bo in this one which is nice. Especially when it comes to helping others. One thing I did have a question on is with Gabby helping Bo in his pitches, if she is helping him does that count as cheating? It may not be a big thing but I was kind of wondering about that. For me the story was just so-so though I am sure others will enjoy it. As I got towards the end of the story I started missing a page every other time I would turn the page not sure what was going on there.
I love seeing authors grow in their craft and thus far few books have shown so much growth as this book by Sandora. The plot is fast and tight. The writing is strong and clear. The author is really growing and it is obvious in this book.
Gabby is back. Bo has a new life and the struggle carry on. This time however Bo is far more likeable. He is no longer like a love struck teenager and far more like a grown man with a mission and ideals.
Gabby remains too good to be true as she should be seeing she is an Angel. I like the other new Angels introduced in this book as well.
All in all as a standalone in Christian fiction I can recommend this book but as part of the series this is a MUST read. Thus far, by far, the best book I have had the pleasure of reading by this author.
I loved reading this book. So much that I even made comments partly though the book. I'm so going to have to get the other books in this series. This however wasn't the first book in the series, but that is just fine because it can be read as a stand alone. Which just makes it even better.
This is the second book in the Angel Adventures series. I liked it.
Bo Garrett is a wonderful character. He is a man who has had his faith tested and won. With a new career as a baseball player for the Boston Red Sox, Bo finds himself helping the angel, Gabby with one of her assignments. Evil is lurking and they have one chance to stop it from invading the political arena.
This is not a book I would typically pick up, nor is it one of the first genre's on my list. However, as I have previously read the first book in the series, I decided to read it once I heard it was available.
I started reading this book and was glad to meet Bo and Gabby again. Although I found myself turning the pages, I just couldn't find it in me to love the story. It's the basic good versus evil story. I am not the most religious person out there, but I am not a non believer either. Some of the thoughts shared by Gabby are quite deep and meaningful. This book is not only religious, but deeply political and touches on matters that resonate with the common man, things like housing, urban renewal and social care; I know these are important issues. But, I don't know if I was in the proper mood to read this story, as I struggled to care about the characters. Kolbe Zane is basically a psychopath in my opinion, and is determined to become the next President of the United States. Johanna Kearns is the former Secretary of State and is Kolbe's cousin, though they were brought up as brother and sister. Their greed and immorality make them the perfect target for evil. As the story unfolded, I felt they received their just desserts, though I felt pity for Johanna in the end. However, I reached the end of the book with mixed emotions. Though I liked the story, I am not sure whether or not to continue with this series.
Greg Sandora has written a most unusual Christian Fantasy. His writing style is relatively fast paced and his characters are interesting.
Due to some violence, I do not recommend this book to younger readers. However, I recommend this book if you love Christian Fiction. - Lynn Worton

I've read a few books by Greg Sandora before, and I am happy to say The Protector lives up to those. Greg has a great sense of how to weave a tale of faith, hope, and joy into the backdrop of modern America with all it's struggles and speed bumps. In the Protector, Bo has gotten a chance of a lifetime, and he has to risk all that to work with Gabby to make a difference in something much greater then themselves. There's conflict, laughs, and a sense of how much good someone can do if they truly care.
Overall, the writing is strong, the story tugs on heartstrings, and by the end of the novel you walk away feeling some hope for how things will turn out in the grander scheme. If you're looking for a novel that will allow you to forget about what's going on in your life now, lift you out of the muck of everyday struggles, then this is the book for you. It's got everything you need to relax, get caught up, and just enjoy something completely unique.
Take a chance on this novel, I doubt you'll regret it! :)
*I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was not a bad read. I liked it. But I cannot really say I loved it. I think maybe it is simply that I was not really in the mood for this book. However. The book is great for the genre it is written for and in that respect I can recommend it to all lovers of Christian Fiction.
After all this reviewing I still cant write a review with any buzz words. Neither do I want to. All I want is to say if you are looking for a good feel good Christian fiction book then look no more. You found it
