Little Girl Lost is a story of a young girl betrayed by an uncaring family. This first part of this short story series tells how Star is often left hungry and dirty because of her father and stepmother's gambling addiction. Sent to stay with strangers her life becomes better and worse. It is told from Star's viewpoint which gives her story even more poignancy. It is very well written and a fine start to this series. While a sad story, it is also a story that begs to be told.

I really liked this book! Not only was it well written, it was a simple but forcibly told story. It is told from the point of view of a neglected, abused, and displaced little girl. Her sweetness was what won me over and made the book more than just a sad story. It is a very short read, but that should give no one an excuse not to read it. It's a real gem!

I was fortunate enough to receive this book as a prize in an online contest, and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed reading it.

Well, “enjoy” might not be the best word. The Little Lost Girl” series is an exploration, through the medium of the autobiographical novel, of the experiences of a young woman whose life is shattered by a family breakdown. We meet Star as a child, struggling with her parents’ choices and problems, which send her into the exile of foster care, of broken relationships and adult addictions, continually tearing apart her fragile world. It’s a hard book to read – yet impossible to put down, and I was desperate to get on to the second instalment of this odyssey, because Star is a person who, even as a child, has unexpected strengths and a devastating honesty. I really cannot recommend this highly enough.

Little Lost Girl is a page-turner to the end. The complexity of Star's life highlighted my emotions and with each person she met, I found myself rooting for her to find a forever family. I'm sure there will be more secrets in book #2 and I can't wait to not only read that one, but other books by the great author, Angelique Anderson.
