'A cracker of a book.' Eclipse Magazine 'My body is not the body I had before I travelled to China. A fast-moving, entertaining adventure that takes Tor the Assassin from the gory battle fields of northern France and drags him into the murky politics of Scandinavia before dropping him in the Far East to deal with the intrigues in imperial China. The story has lots of twists, double-crossing characters and treachery to keep you wondering what will happen next. With the constant theme of a race against time to stop a disaster happening, Tor really has his work cut out! He may be a battle-hardened veteran, but I almost felt sorry for him trying to keep one step ahead of his opponents. The historical settings reminds me in parts of the Sally Lockhart books by Philip Pullman, but at other times the plot is more reminiscent of Ian Fleming's James Bond. Unique and gripping, Wolf Rising is well worth checking out.
