If you're looking for a hot and sexy love story, this isn't it.
If you're looking for a Christmasy tale, nope not here (the story happened around Christmas time but that was about the gist of it)
If you're looking for a short story riddled with miscommunication and A (just one) fade to black love scene, you found it!
Although the story itself was ok, it lacked detail. It had such potential for more. The story was 3/4 of the way through before the first miscommunication was resolved, only to have a situation create yet another one. It had potential to be so much better.
~small town police officer ~heroine who was running from a scandal ~ow info- babysitter had the hots for him and awkwardly flirts with him... and the dispatcher at the police station had the hots for him. The dispatcher caused miscommunication #3 I believe ~om info- ex fiance shows up and causes trouble ~heroine pushes the hero away for most of the book ~no cheating ~no epilogue AT ALL!
The story starts with Casey moving to a smaller house, a perk of this is she has a new neighbour Thad, the local copper.
Thad soon offers to help with some odd jobs around the house. While doing jobs it becomes obvious they both fancy one another but circumstances are not right apparently, well according to Casey who has developed morals.
This book contains a lot of miscommunications, all of which could have been cleared up wth a simple sentence or two, but then you wouldn't have a story.
Casey is hiding some of her past, but past has a habit of catching up with you and scampering fun plans.
This was an okay read, I would read more from this series/author as I liked the close knit community feel in the books.
I was looking for a light, holiday read when I chose this book. This isn’t a light, holiday read. There’s heavy drama at the end of the story, and it ain’t Christmassy at all. There’s one scene where the heroine decorates her Christmas tree with the little boy who lives next door. Other than that scene, you wouldn’t even know this novella take place in December.
I don’t like it when misunderstandings go on for too long in a book. A simple comment like, “We shouldn’t be kissing because you’re married!” could have cleared up the misunderstanding immediately.
He isn’t married. The woman and child in his home are his sister and nephew. Everyone in town knew that. How does she not know that? How does it not come up in any conversation? Why does she let him and his sister think she’s a lesbian? Why does he think it’s ok to kiss her and caress her body when he thinks she’s in a relationship with a woman? Would he have been as physically aggressive if he thought she had a boyfriend? Why does she kiss him back when she thinks he’s married? The moral compass for the two main characters needs to be readjusted.
Besides the questionable morality of these two, they were likable. Even without a steamy sex scene, I found the story enjoyable. I could have done without the drama involving the married ex-boyfriend who murdered his wife. That was overkill in my opinion.

This was such a cute and sweet story. Casey moves in the town called Celebration to escape her tragic past. She never anticipate to fall head over heels in love with her new neighbour, Thad. Thad is very handsome guy who is a cop. Although the intense feelings of liking was mutual, they both have harboured confusions regarding each other. After a series of comedic run-ins, friendly encounters and a few romantic moments they finally let their feelings show but unfortunately Casey's past was catching up with her present and was ready to destroy her chance of happiness with Thad.
Told in dual prospectives, Tangled in Tinsel is a perfect read for Christmas if you want a quick and swoon worthy romance but with a little twist and thrill. This is the first book in The Celebration Series. I really enjoyed Stacy Eaton's writing style,it was funny, charming and thrilling at the same time. I'm looking forward to read the rest of her books in this adorable series.
Formerly wealthy nurse from SC moves to PA to get away from her father and ex fiance who are both in trouble for gambling debts and scamming people. She meets her neighbor, a cop, who thinks she's a lesbian and she thinks he's a married man with a kid.
This turns into a suspense type story which involves a psycho and a hostage situation at Christmas.
The story was disjointed and not very deep. Disappointing.
I wish I had read this part of a reader's review instead of the novel 'If you're looking for a hot and sexy love story, this isn't it'. With that aside, I felt the writing pov style changed mid-way which had me fast track skimming until the ending.
Casey moves to a new town in order to get a fresh start. She is looking forward to doing repairs and upgrades to her home and starting her new job as a RN in the town's local ER. Almost immediately she notices her neighbor. He is an officer with the local police department and he's definitely taken notice of his new neighbor also. Helping Casey do odd jobs around her house gives Thad the opening he needs to spend more alone time with her,but he's finding it difficult keeping his hands off of her which seems to be what Casey wants anyway. When Casey's past catches up with her and she finds herself in danger the only one that she trusts to help her is Thad. Now Thad needs to figure it all out so that he, Casey and his family can have a very Merry Christmas.
I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
I Beta-read this book. As most of Stacy Eaton's books, this one is also full of surprises, twists and turns. It's part romance and part police procedural, and is a great quick read. Some parts of the book would make the reader smile, some - giggle and some would make the hearts go on a wild chase while turning the pages to find out what's next.
I love this book - I don't know what it is about the characters (except that they are so realistic) but I was hooked from the first line. It's fast paced and I read it in one sitting. The town and setting are such that you want to live there. Stacy has done a great job with providing charcaters that you can relate to, even the minor ones.
Tangled in Tinsel has twists and turns that are unexpected. Great read for that rainy Sunday afternoon. Really happy that I discovered Stacey Eaton this summer, you will be too. Each of Stacey's book gives you a peak at her real everyday world in the police force.
Fun, fast paced novella with surprises everywhere! Oh, and so hot, I thought my iPad that I was reading it on, was going to melt!! Stacy knows how to grab her readers and keep them enthralled and entertained. Can't wait for the next book in this series!!
Great Story & Narration🎧Heart-Warming & Enjoyable!
Tangled in Tinsel The Celebration Series, Book 1 By: Stacy Eaton Narrated by: Yvonne Cude
This is a great story and start to a wonderful series if connected stand-alone books set in Celebration Township, PA a small town with plenty of charm and interesting residents. Stacy Eaton is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style and the storylines and characters she creates. And while this is on the shorter side of her novels, she still managed to fit an impressive amount of story into it. This is the type of book, once you start you do not want to stop, you just need to know what happens next. The characters are realistic, easy to relate and connect with. Casey Lowe, Celebration’s newest resident, she relocated there because wanted to start over, a new job, new house in a new state. Her new neighbor, Corrine, misunderstood what she saw and made assumptions, no judgements, just an assumption and it is pretty comical how word spreads in small towns. Thad Wagner an Officer with the Celebration Police Department and Casey’s next door neighbor. I loved the chemistry between these two, but once again assumptions got in their way with Casey pushing him away. He does not want to give up on her but respects her wishes to just be friends. Casey is settling in, getting into her new job but when then her past catches up with her, a past she thought she was done with but had other plans. There is never a dull moment in this book, it is greatly plotted with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some laughs, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt ones and wonderful romance. While this book takes place around the Christmas holiday, it can be enjoyed anytime of the year. In addition to the awesome lead characters there are some great secondary characters. I am looking forward to what comes next in Celebration Township!
I listened to the Audible edition, Yvonne Cude is terrific narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to live, giving each their own voice and personality. She does a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them and capturing their emotions which can be heard in her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧
I thoroughly enjoyed this not so light Christmas romance. Casey is fleeing her old life, born with a silver spoon in her mouth, things turn sour after her mother passes. The latest is that her father and her fiancé conspired together to rip off unsuspecting people of a lot of money. On top of that, her fiancé turns out to be a married man. Fleeing the scandal that has now surrounded her, Casey moves to Celebration Township, Pennsylvania from South Carolina. Casey is not looking for love, far from it. She wants to heal and move on with her life. She’s bought a house (in not very good condition) and will be starting her new job in a hospital soon. She definitely does not have time for the hot police officer who lives next door. Especially one that’s married with a little boy. Thad, the sexy cop who lives next door to the towns newest resident, is intrigued by Casey from the first time he spots her in the bar with her best friend the night they arrived. Thad’s got the wrong impression of Casey as well since he’s led to believe (mistakenly of course) that Casey is gay and in a relationship (her best friend). This is not your regular sweet Christmas romance. There’s a plot twist that you don’t see coming and it ends in a daring rescue. I delved into this book one afternoon and couldn’t stop reading. The story draws you in, but the writing and characters keep you engaged and wanting more. I can’t wait to start the next story in this series.
I adore the Celebration series, and finally playing catch up with the books I missed. "Tangled in Tinsel" started the series and set up the small town with humor, passion and a community that supports each other.
Casey Lowe has moved to Celebration from South Carolina, where she hit hard times and was betrayed by those she loved. She is now the supervising ER nurse for a smaller hospital than then one she left. Her best friend Brandy helped her with the move, and there the comedy of errors started. Her new neighbor Corrine assumed that they were a lesbian couple. Casey assumed that the hot cop who lived next door was married with a small son.
Thad Wagner was attracted to his new neighbor, but likewise assumed she was in a lesbian relationship. Of course, that wasn't going to keep him from trying -- especially after catching her nude at night in her bedroom. Thank God, she hadn't put up her drapes yet.
The next morning, Thad came over to help repair a wall. As the worked together, the sexual tension was strong, but Casey was determined not to get involved with a married man.
Part of her past shows up and holds her hostage in her house. It takes a few days for Thad to put it together, but he comes to her rescue, and all the wrong assumptions are cleared up.
A fun book for a town everyone would want to call home.
With a past she is trying to escape, Casey is settling herself in her new home in Celebration Township. Thad, the hot cop lives next door, and the attraction between the two is palpable. But Casey has no intention of getting involved with a married man. Between the misunderstandings and the past looking over Casey’s shoulder, Thad and Casey have a lot to overcome. When things just begin to look up, danger comes to Celebration Township. Will Thad be able to keep Casey safe? Stacy Eaton masterfully weaves this romantic suspense with not only romance and suspense, hints of humor. I found myself invested in the couple, at times frustrated and at times laughing and loving them. The secondary characters were a plus and gave us the small town feel. I enjoyed this novella and look forward to seeing what will happen next in Celebration.
This was my first narration by Yvonne Cude and I loved her. Great pacing a variety of voices, she made our trip to Celebration a joy. It was easy to distinguish the difference between the characters and she enhanced the love and suspense with her voice. It was an enjoyable listen.
I started reading this book because Stacy Eaton is friends with an author that I love! I feel like I had unrealistic expectations for their writing styles to be the same, that was silly of me. But I digress, I didn't really like the first book I felt like it lacked character development and was more of a vignette than a story. It was fun to read and took almost no time to finish but I wouldn't have continued reading if I hadn't told Stacy I would read the whole series. I don't know how fair that is of me though and I'm having trouble separating my expectations from reality.
I was pleasantly surprised by reading the rest of the series I made it to Making Mom Mad which is book 6, it's nice because while each story continues in the same short vignette snap shot style they do link all the characters together so by book 6 I had a pretty good story about the couple in book 1. I do love how we got both the man and woman's perspective at the same point in time, that was a nice touch that I hadn't read before.
Tangled in Tinsel (Celebration #1) by Stacy Eaton is a short christmas romance novella. The only thing about novella’s is that they are not long enough for me, if the story is good, and this one is. I liked the characters and would love to see them in a longer story. Stacy has written a tale of two people who have a strong attraction to one another but are being kept apart by misunderstandings Let me tell you one of the rumours and the way it came about had me laughing out loud. Thad has his work cut out for him. He doesn’t know why she is holding him at arm's length. How can he cross the divide and get them on the sam page? But when things take a turn is she the woman he thought he got to know? To find out what happens you best get a copy of the book, a nice drink and a quiet place to truly enjoy this story.
What a great read / listen. Narration was smooth and easy to listen to, story was well written with good flow. Great first book to Eaton's new The Celebration series. I love the idea of a series that spans the year focusing on holidays! In this read, it's coming up on Christmas time and Casey has moved north to escape her past and it seems that history may repeat itself only to find that she may just have a hero ready to help her untangle from not only the tinsel but also her past! I really loved the balance Eaton brings with character chemistry and suspense / action. A great HEA romance!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. *this review is based on the audio version of this read
This is the first audiobook in the series that takes place in the town of Celebration. Casey Lowe has moved to Celebration with the intend of leaving her past behind . In need of a new beginning she takes a job as a nurse in the local hospital. Thad Wagner is not only her handsome neighbor, but also a police officer. Assumptions and misinterpretations finds Casey believing he’s a married man, and him thinking she might be a lesbian. As they fight their attraction and consider just being friends, someone from Casey’s past makes an appearance. One that could endanger everyone involved. This was a fast moving story with some humor thrown in at times and the realization that what you assume is not always the truth. Looking forward to more stories in the series.
Casey moved north so she could get away from her old life. She moved in next door to a very good looking man and he has a family. She is through with men like that. Thad is so attracted to Casey, but she keeps sending him mixed signals. He could see she was interested, but she pushed him away. When she finally finds out that he isn't married and that his sister and nephew are staying with him, they both think things will change. Then Casey's past shows up on her doorstep. Will Thad figure it out in time to help her?
Tangled in Tinsel is a short novella about a couple that is almost kept apart by misunderstandings. Casey moved up north to get away from her past. She didn't tell anyone about it since she wanted a new start. She's attracted to her next door neighbor, Thad, but he's married! Thad can't figure out why Casey keeps holding back.
My problem with novellas are that they are too short to develop the connection between the characters & the readers fully. I enjoyed the story but due to that lack of connection, I wasn't as fully invested in the story. It was a good superficial read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This book is a quick read.
It is a sweet romance around Casey who moves hoping to leave the past behind. But the past always has a way of sneaking up on us. Thad is one of those swoon worthy book boyfriends we all love..
The only thing that I didn't like is that the little miscommunication thing that Casey believed, well that it took that long to resolve. But on the other hand dragging it out made the book.
I look forward to reading more from Satcy Eaton in this series.
Overall this is a fun, quick read that will put a smile on your face.
This story started with y'all tales. The new neighbor moved in with her best friends help suddenly it was thought they were a lesbian couple. The ladies meet the hot deputy only to be asked if they could take his families take home dinner to them so he could take a call and now he is suddenly married. But the fireworks between Casey and Thad won't stop. About the time they figure out the mix up Casey's ex shows up and Thad must figure out what is happening and help. Will there be a miracle for Christmas?
This is the first novella in The Celebration Series, a small town romance. Casey and Thad's story is sweet, fun, sexy, and fast-paced, filled with misunderstandings, and secrets. The storyline has a little suspense. They share an undeniable chemistry. The supporting characters are great and intriguing. Yvonne Cude did a great job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, easy to understand, with a great range of voices. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Tears to Cheers.
Wow, this is a great story to start the Celebration series off with. I was curious about what made Casey pack up and move leaving her past behind her. Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. Thad and Casey have an attraction that jumps off the pages. Misunderstandings keep them trying to just be friends. They have a smooth and easy way with each other. I can't wait to see what the other Celebration series books will be like.
A great sweet Christmas love story!! Casey Lowe comes to town to escape her past but her past won't stay in the past...After meeting her sexy neighbour Thad Wagner, both of them have an instant chemistry they try not to acknowledge. When Casey's past comes calling hopefully her sexy neighbour can help her and make her Christmas special!! If you are looking for a great Christmas story...well look no farther...this is worth the buy!!
Casey moved to Celebration for a fresh start. She met Thad, her new neighbor, who was a policeman in town. He lived next door. Casey's house needed some work and Thad offered to help. Instant attraction, however, she told him "No way" could they ever have a relationship. Soon Casey's past comes back to cause trouble. She needs help but cannot ask Thad. How will it work out? You need to read Tangled in Tinsel to solve the mystery.
