Silent Storm

Rate this book
The title Silent Storm must sound strange to you. So, I will give you an explanation. During the teaching of Jesus and His Apostles they carried the good news of the gospel to the entire world in the 1st century without using an army or the sword. You can have a silent storm if you are referring to a spiritual event instead of a physical one. That is the main theme of this book. When the first Christians of their number was martyred (Stephen), such a widespread persecution developed that all except the apostles were driven from their homes and scattered abroad (cf. Acts 8:1). But this did not slow them down or dampen their enthusiasm. Wherever they went, they were found "preaching the word" (Acts 8:4). They preached it as they had opportunity, not depending on others to do the work for them. "Perhaps if we believed what they believed, we might achieve what they achieved." If we did, I am convinced that God would give us success, too. After retiring in 2001, Morris Bowers settled into a comfortable routine of writing. This effort is his fifth book. While working full time, Bowers traveled extensively, making many trips to Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Italy, Sicily, Malta, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Eng-land, Moldova, Scotland, England and across the United States. This gave him many opportuni-ties to gain an in-depth insight into other cultures and religions. It has helped him immensely. He gives great credit to the fact of being raised in a devout Christian family as the reason he burns to understand the Bible from front to back. He grew up in Athens, Alabama, which afforded him with a unique perspective of Christian ethics and moral.
