The jungle animals simply can't sleep because Leopard's snoring noise is too loud and distracting. Anyone who's ever been woken up by loud snoring or tried to sleep while listening to it will certainly relate. Naturally, the animals try to wake Leopard so that they can sleep, but nothing works. When he does finally wake up, he finds that turn about is fair play, and all the other animals have finally fallen asleep and are snoring so loudly that he can't sleep. I like the puppet attachment to the book since the leopard's mouth even displays two prominent teeth.
