One of my favorite series! I can't get enough of Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie. Every one of their missions have me in stitches. My only wish is that I wouldn't finish them as quick!

The seventh addition to the Miss Fortune Mystery series by Jana Deleon. A hurricane is coming and Fortune and the gang all retreat to safety at a local church. Afterwards, phony money is found and Fortune believes it is tied to the arms dealer that wants her dead. Has he finally located her? Oh, and did I mention the dead body?
I ain't telling. Another humorous story involving CIA Fortune Redding and the Geritol Mafia, Ida Belle and Gertie, along with our clueless Deputy Carter LeBlanc. I was a little disappointed in the ending but hopefully the next book will end differently. First off, I am aware that real CIA agents would not behave anything like Fortune but it's a fun read, filled with loads of laughs. Just don't take it seriously!

I love this series, it seems that I start every review of books in the series that way, but it is so true. Every book is great. Action, humor and mystery. A perfect read for me and this one was no different. Please start at the beginning and read in order because these books take place one right after the other.
Fortune Redding, a CIA assassin in hiding in Sinful, LA, just can't stay under the radar no matter how hard she tries. Now we have a hurricane blowing through Sinful and in its' wake there is a windfall of counterfeit money and a dead body, of course.
Things get dicey for Fortune when the money traces back to Ahmad, the terrorist arms dealer who had a hefty bounty on Fortune's head. Then his men are spotted in New Orleans, way to close the Fortune in Sinful, but Swamp Team 3 is on the track of the counterfeiter and, well, things get serious, but hilarious for the girls in New Orleans.
Unfortunately, things get real, real back in Sinful and Deputy Carter learns Fortunes true identity. She has some serious decisions to make and what happens to her relationship now that Carter knows her secret is left for another book.

This is book 7 in the series and I love it. These books are so great, even my husband loves them! It's impossible that you don't laugh out loud and I really appreciate that after a long day at work. Will certainly continue to read them...

Definitely Packs a Hurricane Force!!
Hurricane Force is hands down the best so far of the entire Miss Fortune series!! Too bad I can't give it 20 stars. While the humor is certainly there, this time there is more life & death action than ever before. It's one roller coaster ride after another. Just as you catch your breath Ms DeLeon twists you up & over again. This is absolutely a must read!!!!

This is the 7th book in the series, and each book keeps getting better and better. In this book we saw some Sinful shenanigans, but the main thrust was dealing with Fortune's personal agenda, and shockingly telling Carter secrets about Fortune, Gertie, and Ida Belle. I didn't like the ending, but I am hoping Ms DeLeon finds a way to fix that in the next book. I do hope there are many more books about Sinful and the amazing people who live there!
The pace of the book is non-stop exciting, and between wondering how they did something and laughing too hard at what they did, it is almost impossible to put down.
I recommend you start at book one (often offered for free!) and laugh your way through the series. Take a look at the Sinful Ladie's website to kick start your fun. (http://sinfulladiessociety.com/) Don't want to miss this fun series!

Fortune's cover was blown because of a mole at the CIA headquarters after she got a price tag on her head her boss send her to a back country town in the bayou posing as his boss' niece - a former beauty queen turned librarian. Only there's no female bone in her body and Sinful, Louisiana is what anyone would expect. Besides the eruption of crime this successfull CIA assassin must deal with culture shock, The Geritol Mafia and the interest of the local deputy - that much about flying under the radar :-)
I so love this series and I'm amazed how many different variations of a theme are possible and it still remains fun. I love all but one characters - and it's purpose she's so difficult to like as well as their development and growing relationships. It was another fun and entertaining book and I'm already looking forward to the next in series!

Hurricane Force by Jana Deleon is the 7th book in the Miss Fortune Mystery series. After a hurricane passes through Sinful, counterfeit money is found in the street with ties to the arms dealer Ahmad whom Fortune Redding is trying to avoid. I love this series and especially all the characters. There are a lot of unbelievable and funny moments which have you laughing out loud. Very entertaining and leaves you wanting more.

It doesn't get any crazier than Sinful Louisiana with two Vietnam era operatives and a hiding CIA agent. They are in constant trouble with the town's deputy and their great crime fighting plans always come with a hitch. It is laugh out loud fun.

This book was a perfect mix of funny, sad, and action packed. Hurricane Force is book 7 in the Miss Fortune Mystery series. This series is set in Sinful, Louisiana, USA and follows Fortune, who is a CIA assassin in hiding, and old ladies Gertie and Ida Belle, who are lifelong Sinful residents and ex-spy war veterans, as they help solve a string of various crimes and murders.
This book and the entire series is full of humor. I stumbled across these books when I decided to check out a new-to-me genre called Cozy Mysteries and someone recommended this series. Once I listened to the first book, I couldn't stop. I have been listening to all of the books back to back.
In Hurricane Force, a hurricane stirs up a whole lot of counterfeit $100 bills. Plus there is a murder to solve, Ahmad the arms dealer is closer than ever to finding Fortune, and Carter finally learns the truth about Fortune. Of course, the ladies jump into action to try to solve the case. The votes are still being recounted for the new town mayor because Celia won the election but someone had stuffed the ballot boxes, and of course, Celia is in control and making a mess of things while spreading her hate and negativity.
This book was different from the others in that there was a real emotional side to the story as Carter learned that Fortune is really a CIA assassin. I absolutely loved that we got more of the romance and heartaches that come with learning someone you care deeply for has been lying to you.
I recommend this series and suggest that you read each book in order as it builds upon the prior story and makes everything that much more entertaining and enjoyable. If you like your books with a nice dose of humor, this is the series for you. I have found myself laughing out loud too many times to count.

Darnit! I’m stuck on how much I can say before I land myself in spoiler territory. I loved this book, but the ending kind of broke my heart. There’s so much good and so much forward momentum in Fortune’s story, but I was still hoping for a slightly different outcome. In any case, I laughed my butt off over the shenanigans of Swamp Team 3 and I can’t wait to see what trouble they get into next.

That’s the last of my gift stack. I have to order the rest (series is currently at 27)
I liked that this one had a bit more seriousness & a bit less madcap. Counterfeit money, a hurricane, false smiles, bullseye shots, and the big reveal (albeit to a limited audience) .. A truly fun and engaging series.

Oops, we’ve hit a snag
Don’t get me wrong, I am having so much fun binging this series, but I was hoping for a different outcome when Carter finally learned the truth. Yep, Fortune’s secret is out, at least with Carter, and while I understand where he’s coming from, it broke my heart a little too.
Hoping things get back on track for Book 8, as it looks like the Sinful Ladies Society’s archenemies, Celia, is up to no good.
Ended sadly, but still 4 stars

I must have laughed for 10 minutes over the scene of Fortune and Ida Bell picking up Gertie. I love this series, it has everything. It's funny, it's got action, there is some mystery and the characters are so well created that you just like them. I would recommend this to everyone, especially those who like to laugh-out-loud.

A Definite Must Read for Miss Fortune Fans!!!
Loved it but wished it could have lasted longer. Secrets are exposed but our quirky heroines manage to stay on top of it. We can't wait until 2016 for more Miss Fortune.

As things heat up in Sinful, things are coming to a head for many people. There is a hurricane headed in their direction but the people do not expect very much damage. Mayor Celia’s husband who has been gone for a long time shows up. Past for some people is going to bite them in the butt. Yes, there is a mystery surrounding Max and add to that some strange money and a few plot twists and the Swamp Team 3 has action and mystery to solve.
Fortune and Carter are getting along well but that is about to hit a few problems. Fortune ‘s past will bite her in the buff because Ahmed is causing problems . There is lots on action, funny money and surprises which will keep your interest. Must not forget the humor bit be ready for some sadness.
I love the series and highly recommend it!

Another great adventure!
I love Jana DeLeon's Miss Fortune series. I read the first book and got hooked. I love the characters. I get lost in each story and this one was no exception. Her books are ones you have trouble putting down. If you love a good mystery with lots of adventures and a lot of laugh out loud funny moments then this series is for you. Can't wait to read the next one!

It's two days since the last book, and Celia's long-lost husband, Max, has returned. Fortune is about to experience her first hurricane, but luckily, Ida Belle and Gertie are experts at riding one out. To add to the mess, Fortune convinces her CIA boss that the situation might be right for taking out the arms dealer, Ahmad, once and for all. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous ones. There's a lot going on here and while the mystery gets neatly explained in the end, it seemed overly complicated, and the book ends on a bittersweet note. Still would read the sequel.

I Liked It
There has been an ongoing plot line in the previous books that makes a huge leap forward in this installment. The good character work and humor that has been a hallmark of the series so far is still there and more so.
I'm not a fan of the soft cliffhangers from the past few books but they make it so that I want to read the next book and not that I absolutely have to read it in order to get satisfaction. They remind me of the last few moments of the original Quantum Leap series but instead of the main character saying "Oh boy", the reader is saying it.

A palate cleanser book was in order and the Miss Fortune series fits that need. This is not my favorite in the series but kept me entertained while on a beyond boring zoom call about the tax software needs of small businesses.

I love this series. Fortune and her senior sidekicks are able to solve the mystery of counterfeit money. The characters are well described and add to the story line. Can’t wait to read the next in the series!!

Laughed from the opening sentence! Fortune, Ida Bell and Gertie are a great team! Loved the story!
