Halfway through The Enemy Within it occurred to me that it's a shame Tommy Carter is such an underdeveloped character. John Talon is the invincible Adonis, Charlie James has a sad backstory, and Duncan Freese is just a comic relief, which is fine; but what about Tommy? Eight books in, and Tommy doesn't get a chance to experience some emotional arc? He is plain the same way fire hydrants are plain: he's just there.

#8 is a Short great book. Sorry I'm almost at the end of the series. On to book #9

Talon, Charlie, Duncan and Tommy together with their third of the Army continue the purge of undead from the New United States. In the midst of the Rocky Mountains was a large group of survivors led by a fat-headed ex-welder by the name of Cole Hobbs. This group was dug in and their leader wanted nothing more than to rule his little kingdom. This group would also be more trouble than ever expected. Book eight was a bit of a letdown as it comprised mainly of following the Army around with little other development. Here’s hoping book nine is an improvement. Three.point.five for the slippage.

I love this series. When I found the zombie wars I grabbed all of them. Must read zombie series. Absolutely amazing
