Really, REALLY good. I'm not usually a fan of "military based" leadership but Reno is less "military" and more "biblical" in his leadership qualities, putting more emphasis on the Service part of leadership and the importance of humility instead of the usual Leadership Self-Help books that put so much emphasis on being Powerful And Macho. At the end of the day, the leader we should be emulating is Jesus, not some supposedly successful CEO. I'll definitely recommend this to other people, especially in my workplace and ministry, and overall, this was a delight to read and thoroughly informational and impactful.

I had the distinct privilege of not only reading this book but being able to sit under 20 hours of teaching by General Reno. It was amazing to learn from someone with so much life experience and practical wisdom about how to lead well and biblically. General Reno portrays those same things in this book as well. He goes through 10 practical leadership maneuvers that can help us lead better by serving those that we are leading. True leadership is serving those around us and setting an example to others of how to lead!

Well written, easy to understand, definitively practical.
Would recommend as a really good before-you-go-to-bed for a couple weeks.
Take your time on the last chapter and definitely read the appendices.

It was an easy read. Had a good mix of Scripture to support each point. There were not many brand-new leadership principles, but there were some. The life experience stories that he shared enhanced the learning.

People at Cedarville always hype up General Reno. I want to buy into their excitement, but every time I’ve heard him speak I’m left wondering, “What am I missing??” This book was no different. His principles were fine and dandy but his logic was scatterbrained and many of his stories were loosely connected.

This was a great book on leadership. Obviously Loren is not only a great leader, but he is a man of great character and integrity. His book is filled with many useful leadership tips, but it is also presented in a down-to-earth and humorous way. It was a great read and I would recommend it to anybody in a leadership role.
