This book includes content from the original, now super-secret manuscript, “Moments in Time: It is never too late to come out,” and has been modified, embellished and enhanced based on reader interest in the characters from the original series.
There is really only one moment in time we can cherish, that we remember through all of the good and bad times in our lives. If you can take that one moment of time and cherish it forever, it can bring joy where there is sorrow; happiness and hope where there is despair. This is a secret that we hold true to ourselves, to our hearts.
Sometimes you remember the first kiss, the first time you fell off your bike, and the person who was there to pick you up, or when you fell out of the tree, you remember who carried you bleeding to the hospital, or cleaned up your wounds and gave you encouragement and inspiration to go on.
But it is this secret you hold true deep down inside that you can sometimes forget. When all else fails, it was the one true thing that you were supposed to hold onto, it molds you into who you are, and who you will be. It helps you evaluate who you were, where you were, and gives you focus on who you want to become, and where you want to go.
“Yellow: Army of Secrets” is the third of the Rainbow Reader series that reveals the sexual discovery, encounters and developing adventures that define the main character as he interacts with characters the readers wanted to know more about from the original Moments in Time series.
Fiction is a lie, but there is truth behind every lie.
Georgie’s 30 year journey spans the entire Rainbow Reader series and can be read in any order. However, for readers interested in following the timeline in complete continuity, the proper reading order for the series begins with the unpublished, “Pink: The Secret Manuscript,” and continues directly into “Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.”
The timeline continues quite chronologically into the three “Moments in Time” novels.
Following the three “Moments in Time” novels, the story and timeline then continues to spin off different characters’ timelines in order to give the reader an all-encompassing, comprehensive and truly relative reading experience about the characters’ lives as they all develop individually.
The Rainbow Reader series begins again after the three novels with “White: Educating Hayden,” “Gray: Surrender,” “Black: Secrets,” “Brown: Reconnect,” and the final Rainbow Reader, “Silver & Gold: True Love’s Kiss.”
There’s no better fiction than the truth.
Enjoy the third in the Rainbow Reader series, “Yellow: Army of Secrets.”
Writing was Adam's hobby. The voices in his head are constantly battling to get out, often leaving him working on four or five different books at once. He can't help but write. When he discovered he was actually good at writing, it became a full time passion that often interrupts his full time gig Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Along with his writing addiction he has a serious caffeine addiction. Some nights, the only reason he stops writing and goes to sleep is for the fresh brewed coffee in the morning. Teaching English in China, there are serious challenges living in a rural seaside holiday resort to find good coffee.
As an Author, Adam Stevens skillfully writes with a relevant, compelling and believable ability to articulate the emotional context of each character. He will captivate and engage you, in an addictive manner that will make you yearn for the next paragraph, page, chapter, and book.
As a Gay Romance Novelist, he has a brilliant magic with words that will draw you into his works with an almost addictive seduction. Each characters personality jumps off the page and into your heart.

Oh, Adam Stevens. How you continue to tug all my heart strings. You did so in Red and Orange, and Yellow wasn't any different. Maybe because Georgie is so real to me? His story so genuine and true? I think so. There is just something about him that endears me so deeply to his gentle soul. So desperately I want him to find happiness, and yet, truth be told, I'm at the same time captivated by his journey. What he learns about others. What he learns about himself. What he takes away from each experience and relationship (whether long or short-lived) and how he chooses to go on from there. He's not perfect and his past has made it hard for him to see certain things. Especially the affection others feel for him. In this installment, the adoration of his lovely military companion. It's like he is searching so hard for love, needing it so intrinsically, that he tragically misses it, passes it by, as though a part of him firmly believes he'll never find it, never reach it, never catch up to it. *Rubs sternum just thinking about Georgie* Oh, Georgie. If only you could see what we see. If only you could accept what is right there for the taking. But i understand why he can't, so i will never begrudge this character for that. He's had a horrendous childhood that no child should ever have to endure *bristles at the heinous crime of child abuse/neglect* and even in this place in his climb up the mountain of life and learning, still has to endure the pain of loss as those he's grown so attached to, for one reason or another, must leave him. No wonder he can't see! No wonder he doesn't know! God, this life of his wrecks me sometimes. And yet, right when i decide, i don't want to do this anymore. Don't want to read his heartbreak, don't wanna feel this grief, i look at sweet Georgie in my mind's eye and my heart digs in its heels and refuses to go, despite the knowledge that there is still such a ways to go. Because the hero of this story is so damn beautiful and sweet and precious, that no way could i bolt on him now. Besides, i really really really do want to see his happily ever after. If anyone deserves one, he does. Yellow had awesome insight into the life of young military men. I really enjoyed reading about Georgie's different endeavors, during boot camp, etc. Cheered for his many successes, ached along side him during his times of great disappointment. There were awesome moments i was so happy he was able to experience in the army, and was so proud each time he picked himself up after an unexpected blow. He isn't superman, but he's got the heart and stamina of freaking Hercules. Great job on another installment, Adam! On to Green!
This series is addicting. My heart has broken so many times for Georgie that I’ve stopped counting. He’s gonna meet someone who’s not going to leave him (or me) broken, I just know it! Love this series.
So going into this third book. I'm finding that Georgie is a bit of all over the place. He has just left Gary and is on the road. Meets a new person by following him. Has unprotected sex with this person (he can't remember his name) all in a matter of days after Gary. The unprotected sex thing is pretty crazy to read. He just doesn't think about STD's. I mean ... It hasn't even been mentioned at all. And I know guys like to have sex without lube. But everyone of Georgie's sexual encounters have not included lube. I'm sorry but pre-come alone will not be enough to get you through the act.
This book was the first time he used a condom!
As for the story itself. I thought it was ok. I liked Mike Needham. They seem to work together pretty good. But once again there is a bump in the road and Georgie is on to something new.
WOW !! This one really does stir up an army of emotions as we continue to follow Georgie who is soldiering on, trying, but failing not to fall in love. I finished yellow not being very happy with Georgie but in this my opinion changed as Adam, yet again, crammed a hell of a lot in to another of his short stories. Brilliant loved it !!
Review for - Rainbow Reader Yellow: Army of Secrets My journey continues through the Rainbow Reader Series, with Yellow: Army of Secrets. I was once again immediately drawn into the world of Georgie as he continues his never-ending quest to find his place in the world, a home, and the ultimate prize of love.
I struggled alongside him as he made his way through Army basic training and all the physical and emotional challenges that were presented. My heart was torn between rejoicing in the happy blessed moments in time, when love was only a hair’s breath away, and fighting to contain my despair as George not only endured physical tragedy but somehow managed the destruction of the life and love he had begun making for himself.
As I had made the fatal error of flicking ahead before I began, I constantly found myself cringing away from what I knew was coming, not because of any deficiency in the writing, but because I knew the tragedy was approaching and I knew it was going to hurt my heart (and, coward that I am, I didn’t want to experience that with my family around me). The complexity of emotions churning within me while reading Yellow: Army of Secrets swung between riding the wave of exhilaration of making a love connection and realising the wonders of a pure physical relationship, desperately wanting to warn Georgie and protect him from the impending tragedy and destruction in his path, and longing to sweep in and gather him in my arms and comfort him when things went awry.
Bravo, Adam Stevens, for weaving another engaging, addictive addition to the Rainbow Reader Series. Although your writing is aimed toward a small niche market, that doesn’t yet know that they are going to love you, your work could just as easily be read by anyone from the larger reading community who wants to experience a journey of self-discovery and coming of age. You are indeed something new, something different, something unique and creative … and I know that in a few short years I will be proudly telling your new devotees that I was one of the earlier readers who fell under your special “Rainbow Reader” spell.
