Sixteen years after Luna took on the might of PareCo, her daughter Liberty is fighting for her independence, fighting for her freedom, fighting to discover who she really is.
Constantly pushing the boundaries of what she can do in the virtual space of the void and still survive in the real world, it is only a matter of time before Liberty goes too far. And when the mysterious Ex offers to tell Liberty all her mother's secrets, it seems too good an opportunity to resist.
But how will Liberty know what is real, or who she can trust - especially when it seems that the future of the void, and of the non-virtual world it connects to, may be at risk of destruction?
Teri has lived in France, Canada, Australia and England at more addresses than she can count, acquiring three degrees, a selection of passports and a silly name along the way. Past careers have included scientist, lawyer, optometrist, and, in England, various jobs in schools, libraries and an audiobook charity. The footpaths and canal ways of the Buckinghamshire Chilterns where she now lives inspired much of the setting of Slated. She hates broccoli, likes cats, and has finally worked out what she wants to do when she grows up.

This short story answers pretty much every how/what question I had after reading Mind Games. Thank goodness. Because that book raised a lot of questions.
Teri Terry has a very distinct, very recognisable voice. I spent a lot of my time thinking about Mind Games and the Slated trilogy, because her style alone took me back. If you have liked any of her books, you'll like this one too.
That ending though. It was just cruel. It was heart-breaking. And then there was that bittersweet touch of HEA too. Damn.
i liked this book, to be really honest. first and foremost, it is well-written — teri terry never disappoints me when it comes to her writing. and this story explained some of the questions i had when i finished mind games. but i still feel i don’t know how the most important part of the whole thing works: the void. i mean, how? just, HOW? is it a virtual space? is it like a second universe inside our own universe? how can the silver belong to the stars (our physical stars) if it’s virtual? as you can see, i still have a lot of questions and they bug me because it’s not about a minor thing. it’s about the main plot. and, because i was so bugged, i couldn’t like liberty very much. the fact that i didn’t understand the void and felt she was too slowflake-y for me kind of distracted me. but, overall, i liked how it gave a closure to luna’s story. it’s enjoyable and it gives good plot points, but doesn’t explain everything, as i was hoping.
I wanted to read this 'cause I wasn't completely satisfied with how Mind Games ended. In that aspect, I was very satisfied with this novella. However, I wasn't too keen on the story. It got too weird and science-fictiony for me.

Picking up almost two decades after the events of Mind Games, Dangerous Games follows the daughter of Luna as she seeks to discover just exactly who she is. Luna has become a Refuser again, no longer plugging into the virtual world even though she has more unique powers and control over the void than regular users. When she discovers her daughter, Liberty, growing increasingly reckless in her virtual adventures, Luna cuts her off completely, causing Liberty to seek out other methods of plugging in and eventually introduces her to the mysterious Ex, who knows more about her past than he should.
I really loved this novella. It answered SO MANY of the questions I had at the end of Mind Games and wrapped the whole story up in a really lovely way. It still had a tear-jerking, all the feels, ending though.
Liberty was an interesting character. For such a short piece of fiction, her growth was exceptional and seeing her question her identity and sense of self was heart-breaking at times. When she finally found out the truth about herself and her past, I was stunned. I hadn’t honestly expected it.
A fantastic, quick read that continues the story of Mind Games and concludes it perfectly. With an interesting cast of characters – most of which have returned from the first book – and an excellent mystery woven into the virtual world of Dangerous Minds, this is a brilliant read.
What a lovely bonus story to an amazing book! I've missed the void and the characters. And getting some answers to some questions I thought I never would, were also really nice :)
However, since I had to read this as an e-book, my rating has been decreased. I don't understand how other people do it, because reading this short story on a screen kinda gave me a headache.

A great book. Shorter than the first installment but well written and gripping. I enjoyed the gradual re introduction of characters from the first book and am glad it ended the way I had hoped the first would!
For such a short novella as a sequel to Mind Games this was such a compelling ending to the original story. Liberty is so like Luna but even stronger and is wondering who she is and why her Mother will not give her the information about herself she so desperately needs. As her story unfolds, Libby starts to discover just how different she really is and realizes that the void is not just a virtual place for gaming worlds which Pareco made use of, but something else entirely. Her Mother's past comes to the forefront of the story as she finds out who or what she is. The story was quite intense and had me breathless through some of it, especially when she finds out who Ex is and when he leads her to someone from her Mother's past who manipulates her into using her abilities for the wrong reasons. I loved reading more about Luna and my favourite character from Mind Games is also back which I thought was great as I really wanted a different outcome for him in the first story. This was such a satisfying ending to a brilliant and unique story!
Okay. I read MIND GAMES last year and absolutely loved it. So when I found out about this novella I bought it for my Kindle.
Liberty is Luna's teenage daughter. She's a lot like her mother was at her age, and is always looking for a way out. Out of the real world, away from reality... the only place she feels at ease is in the void. She seems more silver than anything else. And there's a reason for that.
You know, I'm conflicted about this story. It's well written--Teri Terry books always are--and the concept is intriguing. But, I also feel like it cancels out more of the first book than provide explanations. Also, I didn't warm to Liberty. Not like I did for Luna during her book. So the intended emotional impact didn't hit me.
I didn't love this. IMO, it's not essential reading. It was just okay for me.
I've loved everything I've ever read by Teri Terry and as this novella is a continuation of the story from Mind Games I decided it would be an excellent start to my 2016 reading and what a very good choice I made! I read it in one greedy gulp all at once and I was engrossed from the very first page, it's always great to get reacquainted with characters you love and I was so happy to see the fate of one of my favourites change :-) The ending is beautiful but heartbreaking and I don't mind admitting I did shed a sneaky tear.
This is a great sequel to Mind Games and ties up many loose ends for me as a reader! I didn't even know this book existed until I finished 'Book of Lies', also by Teri Terry; but I'm so glad I did! I have read all of Teri Terry's books and thoroughly enjoyed all of them! The only reason as to why I didn't give the book 5 stars was because I truly fell in love with Liberty's character and I could read for hours about her! Thank you, Teri Terry for this truly fantastic book!
Thank you for an amazing story! I loved Mind Games and I have used this book to switch on the love of reading in so many students in the school where I work as the librarian. I'm so pleased that the second book is here, they will all love it as much as the first one. Thanks again.
I just love this book the only thing wrong is that there needs to be more! I loved this book so much I thought it was awesome (though I think all Teri Terrys books are awesome)
