What ever happened to "Happily Ever After"?

I intended to write a review after finishing Book 1 (2244) but, I was so anxious to follow along with the next in a series of compelling action events I found myself finishing Book 2 before writing the first Book's review. It's a good thing Book 3 hasn't bee published yet as I'd be reading that one right now. The story will continue, just as life does but, I'm becoming afraid "Happily Ever After" is out of style. For myself, and many others I believe this is what gives us Hope. However, as much as I like to see "how it all comes out" I want great stories to continue. This series is full of Hope but, it always seems to move just out of reach as success is snatched away. It is this un-dying hope that draws Robinson and the reader on.
Some of my favorite books (stories) have been told by authors like Stephen King, Tom Clancy and James Michener. Anyone familiar with their works will know most of their books exceed !,000 pages and in some cases the Story and characters continue on through many books. This series is similar to them forcing me to find the balance between "finding-out" and "keep it going". But, just like good vacations, they should end before you want them to. It'll be a while before that happens.
Robinson has been through so much. lost his best-friend, Lover and Teacher several times, forged many unusual relationships and finally it seems they're about to join one-another for the "Happy Ever After". Unfortunately, she discloses she has been infected with the virus that almost exterminated the Human Race a couple of centuries ago and expects to die before delivering his child.
If you want Happy Endings, or at least the hope it may come later, you'll have to read the next book. I'm not comparing the Author to a Drug Dealer but this is how you create an addict. Give them a taste and they'll be back for more. That's exactly what I'm doing. I've already pre-ordered the next book (2246) in this series...you will too.

"Experience do not define who we are. They merely reveal who we were always meant to be."
This book take the series to a whole new level. Whole book is packed with action and adventure. Only thing that bugged me is the fact that the POV keeps shifting, so I have to wait another chapter to know what will happen.

Thanks again E.J for an awesome joy-ride! I wasn’t sure how you’d improve on the first of your Robinson C. books, but wow you delivered! I read to be swept away to another time and place and hopefully have my emotions set ablaze and you have a masterful-talent that is fresh and satisfying. I found little that was predictable which intrigues me that much more. The way you’ve developed the characters has me talking about them like they are real people and I’m totally engrossed in the story line. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your future endeavors. Did I hear someone say “movie/mini-series worthy?” Hello - wake up Hollywood!

Robinson Crusoe 2245 picks up where book #1 in the series left off. The cure for the virus was successfully launched in England and those infected around the world returned to normal. Robinson has learned that the Flayers have sailed south along the Mississippi River to their main camp for the winter, Friday is still a captive of the leader of this warring group. Readers also learn that the king of the city is the leader's brother, and he wants Friday for himself.

Robinson returns to America and begins searching for Friday along the large river. During his quest, he meets many different tribes and groups of people - most living a meager life; others enslaved after being raided by the warring group on their way home. It is in one such place where a group of Flayers were attacking a homestead of Mennonites along the river. Robinson and the group he is traveling with decide to help and defeat their attackers, then learning from one of the wounded the exact location of the Flayers main camp. The dying captive also discloses that Friday was still alive - eight months now after initially taken captive. Robinson renews his motivation in the search for his captive love.

During his remaining trip, Robinson is taken prisoner by two separate groups - one, a large group of cowboys led by "Boss" and second, Friday's tribe from the mountains, who thought the Princess (Friday) was already dead. In both situations, Robinson is certain that he will die there in captivity. However, he finds inside help in both situations and eventually reaches the Flayer's camp.

From that point, the race is on. Robinson's former enemies from England had teamed up with the Flayers and were traveling to the CDC in Atlanta to secure the virus which started the epidemic. Can anybody stop them? Will Robinson and his love survive? Will the lethal virus be secured and dispersed to begin a much more dangerous epidemic. The story does end with a cliff-hanger and the author's promise to publish book #3 shortly. I will be watching for its release.

Don't miss this series, it is well worth reading and hard to put down.

I was first introduced to E.J. Robinson's series Robinson Crusoe when I received a free audio book copy of Book 1. I really enjoyed it (https://smile.amazon.com/review/R3VVJ...). I eagerly but not patiently awaited the sequel Book 2. Robinson Crusoe 2245 (Book 2) is everything a sequel should be. It maintains the same high level of action as the first book. The familiar characters continue to grow and develop. New characters are introduced and enhance the story. More information about the universe the series exists in, how it came to be, and the different cultures that inhabit it are revealed. I am now not only waiting, not patiently, for Robinson Crusoe (Book 2) to be released as an audio book narrated by Malk Williams but also for the release of Book 3. Excellent series both as a book and audio book. Thank you to Audio Book Blast for introducing me to a great new author in E.J. Robinson.

Enjoyable post apoco

Enjoyable for upper YA to my OA (my age as in old adult). I'd read the first a year or so back as the title was hard to pass up. Nothing really surprising or convoluted in the storyline. Just a enjoyable scifi with well developed characters that you quickly feel an attachment. The lack of peppers, special ops, etc is a relief. Throughout my military career I've met few that brave comparison to their novelized counterparts. I think the best portrayal was "One Second After".
. Well, strayed again from a endorsement of "....Crusoe....." to my mind's meanderings. Stay the course with Crusoe and you'll not be disappointed.

Following on from the first book, Robinson Crusoe is on a search for the girl whom he had named Friday. She had been captured again by tribe that was pillaging the riverside and was now heading to their home base. Not to go into great detail about Robinson's travails and adventures, suffice it to say he has many and frees and loses Friday again before the final chapters and of course there is another book to follow. A decent read and I guess I will have to find out what happens in book 3

Breathtaking adventure of otherworldly proportions!

This book could not have been written any better. This is a story that makes the reader feel as if their life has been altered somehow and made greater because of it. The characters feel so real that it is as if you know them personally. Can't wait for the continuation of the story!!

I read RC 2244, then read straight through RC 2245. I would be reading 2246 right now if it were available. This series is not to be missed. Well written, great character development, and worth every minute! This is an author I will not miss. Great new addition to the genre! Love the story.

Better than the first.

It's a good read. Kind of a sad ending, with a twist. Will they find the city of glass, and the cure for Friday?

I liked the first book in this series, Robinson Crusoe 2244, which I got free by way of a link from BookBub, enough to buy this one too. I'm taking a break from the series, but will likely by the latest one too.

I enjoyed the characters, and the plot. I don't have much more to say right now, Hopefully I'll get better at writing reviews.

Robinson encounters formidable odds in the savage dystopian future described herein. Civilization has descended from our present into inter-tribal warfare.

Robinson Crusoe 2245

This sequel to Robinson Crusoe 2244 is an excellent read. It manages to further develop the primary characters as they move and grow with the continuing story both apart and together.

As good as the first book, this was another fast-paced and well-plotted novel. The ending once again was a bit sudden, but I'm still looking forward to the next one.
