The Artbook of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that was available only in the Collector's Edition of the game. It contains art work from the game, along with commentary by the developers for each piece of art and style approach.
Give your eyes a candy. It's breathtaking - the art is just wonderful, so vivid. It has a great harmony with text, so it's definitely worth looking/reading. I loved it, but I love everything Witcher.
This book is lit! Even though it is short, it gave me sheer pleasure. When I was playing this game, my inner aesthete was rejoicing to be given a chance to see and admire the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of this non-existent world. I'm not really into little quests and mini-challenges of this game (they don't really differ from each other), but I'm into appreciating the beauties of nature. That's why I spent many hours in this game just strolling and looking at different hamlets, villages, edifices, bays, sunrises, sunsets etc. But still I couldn't see all adornments in the houses, what fiends and monsters look like close at hand :D etc. This book gave me the opportunity not only to learn more about this world, its characters, monsters, but also to stop and stare at (not all but) some of those little details I couldn't notice right off the bat. Loved it 💛
Gorgeous artwork from the CD Projekt Red universe of the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I loved this game, this art book almost makes me want to go back and play it again. Enjoyed seeing the work that went into the development of this lush and rich world, honoring the books I've enjoyed too.
I always love video game art books so I was happy to be able to track down a pdf version of this one! Wild Hunt is a visually and aesthetically stunning game so to be able to read the design notes on the environments and designs was fascinating; with sketches and concepts supplemented by quotes from the original Witcher novels. I really loved reading about colour theory in the design of the three main environments of the game; browns for Velen, rich reds and yellows and etc for Novigrad and cold blues and greens and greys for Skellige. It's easy to see the differences in atmosphere when playing so that's why I extra appreciated this. I would have loved more concepts of characters though, especially Ciri and Yen. I've seen them on the wiki and would have loved to see more notes and details; y'all holding out on me CD Projekt Red ahaha!
The love and care given to every piece here is extraordinary. Not only did CD Project Red fully grasp the works of Sapkowskj, but also the rich Slavic and Medieval roots behind the original saga. Above this firm ground a clear layer of craftsmanship and polish is clearly visible. I have given this game more than 100 hours of my life, and I still have a long way to go. The artworks here made me love the game even more fondly, and made me appreciate all those hours even more
If you have played the game, this is a must-read. If you're into games but haven't played the Witcher 3, you owe it to yourself to pick it up. If you're neither of these, the art is still pretty damn good on its own.
This is a beautiful text displaying a lot of concept art from the third installment of the Witcher video game franchise covering the settings, characters and creatures present in the game. The art is accompanied with detailed descriptions of their process and inspiration for each piece. It does reveal information concerning the game's plot, so I would recommend reading it after playing the game if you intend to.
It is a book with such amazingly stunning art that I scanned some of it, printed it out and have now self-made posters hanging around my room.
I seriously am of the opinion that every Witcher 3 fan should have this book. It is beautiful, it shows a bit of the progress that was made during the creation of some of the creatures. IT HAS BEAUTIFUL ART. That should make anyone want the book.
Oh wow. Oh wow. Gambarnya cakep-cakep, yang saya salut pencipta visual karakter berusaha mempelajari latar belakang cerita, karakteristik arsitektur berdasarkan bentang alam, pakaian & senjata tiap karakter. Luar biasa.
nie interesuję się sztuką/grafiką ale podziwianie tych szkiców i concept artów było bardzo przyjemne. fajnie sobie poprzeglądać jeśli ktoś lubi ładne rysunki :)
Interesting book behind the development of this amazing game. As an artist I enjoyed seeing the lovely techniques used in the images and it was fascinating to see how the characters and world were developed. Very atmospheric artwork. The text was very informative. Definitely a book I'll return to, and keep admiring the superb artwork.
It was an awesome collection, containing both artwork from the game and text, where they said their thoughts on the designing aspect of the game and what they tried to accomplish through each unique design. It delved both in the game and the things from the books that were the inspiration for it all.
This is the art book that came with he Collector's Edition of The Witcher 3 and for me made getting that version completely worthwhile. Witcher 3 was one of my favorite games of 2015 and this gives you a little insight into the design and how the game was made. The book is full size, hardcover, and full of great commentary and info.
