"Cougar's Gift" is the third book Pacific Northwest Cougars series.
Communicating with others didn’t require the use of a lot of words in Stryker’s mind. He was a man and a cougar…what more needed to be explained. But when the fates give you a mate that needs to be talked into forever a cougar needs to man up and start talking. Tucked away in her tiny town, Libby was happy with her job at the library, her epic book collection, and her kooky parents. Until one day a mystery man rides into her little world on the back of a motorcycle. Libby knows all about sex and love in romance novels, now she has to figure out how that translates to real life. A rough biker shifter and a sweet innocent librarian find that a new world of passion can open up with the turn of a page. Prepare to read about a hot grunting shifter who has to convince the shy librarian that he’s not only her mate, but the right man to be her first. There may not be enough sage and crystals to enlighten this cougar. Intended for readers 18+ as adult material with sexual situations and language
Moxie North loves shifters. Really, she does. A lot. Big burly men mixed with fierce protective animals makes for hunky alpha shifters that will move heaven and earth for their mates.
Her heroines come in all shapes, sizes, personalities and backgrounds. They’re looking for love but want their men to win them over. Together they find their soul mate on their journey to true love.
Moxie lives surrounded by trees, wildlife, and the occasional lumberjack. She loves sci-fi, sugar in any form, and speaking only in movie quotes. Moxie went from an avid reader to a writer and loves being in the romance community. Meeting readers and talking books keeps her writing and loving her job.
Low-angst, sexy and slightly kooky PNR romance between gruff shifter H and typical bookish librarian h. The parts with h's hippie parents made me LOL a few times and the H was wonderfully all-in for the h from the first sight. The sexy times/dirty talk was hot too. The h was such a clueless crybaby at times, it irritated me, but thats probably just me.
Sugary sweet story with an H who is a lazy communicator, grunts a lot or uses single words. He does talk to the h but because she's rather pathetic, and he almost kills her because he's too lazy to talk to her. She's naive, lives a very isolated life with her new age parents because she believes they need her. Well we see her parents housing and feeding her, she never did a thing so she has little maturity. A sweetly bland story, no depth to the characters.
I really enjoyed this story! There were so many unexpected occurrences. The mc's Libby & Stryker were so totally not your average couple, and not who you'd expect to be together. They were also so much more than was shown at first glance, and yet so perfect for each other. The support characters were amazing and the interactions between all the characters were wonderful. There was just enough twists and angst to make for an enticing & captivating tale. The romance was sweet & sensuous Overall this was a very good read. I would definitely read more work by this new to me author. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked Stryker in the last book. I thought maybe he wouldn't be into casual sex like the other shifters in the Moxie North books I've read so far, but I was mistaken. I like Libby. She deserves better than Stryker. She's a human, did not know about mates, and waited til she was in love to have sex. Stryker is a shifter, knows about mates, and has sex with random women before her anyway.
Here are the issues I have with this book. 1. Shifters know they have a fated mate, so them having sex with other people first is cheating since they know that their mate is likely out there. Stryker had casual partners before, which is gross. 2. Stryker was happy and felt like a caveman when he found out Libby was a virgin and no one else would ever have her. But she can't say that. He was glad he wouldn't have shared her with anyone else. But she can't say that because he's been with other people. He's a hypocrite. 3. There are lots of grammatical and punctuation issues with this book. Way too many. These things need to be caught and fixed before publication. 4. In romance books, I don't want cheating, outside the relationship sex, or details about their past sexual encounters with other people. Stryker mentions at least twice that he likes to talk only during sex. And this is before Libby, so I don't want those details. It's not romantic. Being previously promiscuous or a bad boy is not sexy. It's gross and unromantic.
Stryker the cougar and Liberty the librarian. First time reading this author and I wasn't expecting much. But I ended up really enjoying it. It's sweet and the characters are well drawn. There's Libby's outrageously hippy parents and the local odds and ends shifter pack. It's a small town in Oregon where Stryker, the perpetual rolling stone, has landed for a while. But somehow he stays and Libby makes a habit of watching him from the library windows. She is super sweet and sheltered and a bookworm. He is the hot guy on the bike who rarely speaks. But he speaks to Libby. The story is sprinkled with goofiness but never too much imho. There's the usual, 'how do I tell my mate I'm not fully human', conundrum. Take it slow and steady right? But fate intervenes and everything spins out of control. I liked the author's style. An interesting mix of silly and honest reactions. Loved Stryker's character, and Libby too, even though she does cry a bit too much. safety
Oh my god where do I begin? This one was amazing. I loved Stryker and Lobby with her love of chocolate donuts and mac And cheese and books! Definitely another fantastic combo by Moxie North. ❤❤
Love Moxie's writing. I feel for Libby first, she's super cute and funny on how she basically stalked her man. A man with few works but lots of loving. It's a great read.
Sexy, silly, sweet romance. Nothing exciting happens in their small town until Libby spots Stryker, the new auto mechanic. One look and Stryker has met his mate, but she's human. No cliffhanger and Hea.
An introverted, quiet librarian and a rough biker...say it isn't so! 😘 Sometimes Fate can make you crazy, but she knows what she is doing...maybe? Loved it!
I love this series and am so excited to finally get Stryker's story. Stryker is the quiet one of the bunch. He prefers working on mechanical equipment to working in the family wine business, likes solitude, and he's not very talkative. When he needs to get away, he just hops on his motorcycle and takes off to Port May, a town he discovered one day that he now visits regularly. He helps out at the local garage as needed. Not because he needs the money, his family is loaded, but because he likes the work.
Liberty, who prefers going by Libby, is the librarian in Port May and has been drooling over Stryker since she first saw him. She doesn't know anything about him except she thinks he's hot and she can't stop thinking about him, watching him, and wondering about his story. She likes to make up stories about him, due to her bookworm heart. I heart her love of books so hard.
After not seeing him in town for three weeks, she finally sees him and before she knows it is in front of him asking where he's been. Stryker gets one sniff of her and his cougar knows she's his mate.
Their courtship is fast, interesting, hot, sweet, and tricky. Tricky because Libby has no idea he's a shifter, a rich shifter. Not that she cares about money, she's actually the exact opposite. She's frugal and prefers he not spend money on her. Stryker is awed because she truly loves him, the real him. Yet, as time passes and he doesn't tell her the truth, he gets more and more worried he'll lose her over his secrets.
Yeah, he was right to worry. When a family situation takes Stryker back home for a week, he almost loses Libby. She's sick and keeps getting sicker. The test results from the emergency room don't make any sense to Libby and she fears Styker won't believe her. That's because no one else is believing her, due to what the tests show. If she knew the truth about Stryker, they would've made complete sense. But no, Stryker had to keep vital information from her. I will say, in his defense, this wasn't a situation that he could know might happen. It shouldn't have been possible yet. Stryker needs to save her quickly and find a way to get her to forgive him. Can their love overcome his secrets? Can she forgive him? For once, Lillibeth, the Hayes' matriarch, isn't the one creating problems. Stryker made this mess all on his own. I highly recommend this series and suggest you read the Pacific Northwest Werebears series first, since this series is a spinoff of that one. You'll be glad you did.

This terrific paranormal romance had me hooked from beginning to happily ever after end. It made me laugh and I absolutely loved it.
'Cougar's Gift' is the third book in the Pacific Northwest Cougars series of paranormal romances written by Moxie North and I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. I love this series about the seriously rich vineyard owning Hayes brothers who manage to escape their mother's meddling and attempts to control their lives by moving to different places across the country where each one is lucky enough to find their true mates.
Stryker Hayes is a were-cougar who likes to play with engines and rides a motorbike all over the country. He decided to stay a while in Port May and got a job working as a mechanic. He has been away a month going to Las Vegas for the wedding of his twin brother, Everett. When he comes back, he's totally dumbfounded by the small woman who races across the street and starts yelling at him and demanding to know where he's been. Especially confusing since he's never actually seen her before, but her scent tells him she's his mate which leaves him speechless. Not that he talks that much anyway.
Liberty Moonlight Berkowitz, the town librarian, has just made a total fool of herself by charging across the street and screeching at the hunk she's been watching every day since she first saw him trying to work out which bin was for what in the town's recycling system. Now she has to make a graceful exit, and hotfoots it back to the library.
I'm not going to give any spoilers, but this book had me in stitches with Liberty's description of her parents and the fact she moved back home after college because she thought they needed adult supervision. Stryker's assessment of her home was just as funny. He thought it looked both abandoned and lived in by clowns. It also had sad bits but I absolutely loved this wonderful story with it's humour, steam, hope, joy, issue avoidance, painful consequences and, of course, the making up for it part, as well as the happily ever after. I really can't wait for the next one.
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review. First I want to apologize for doing this so late, when I originally received the email and tried to download the book Amazon was having some technical difficulties so it a couple days before I could get the book. The book is about Stryker and Liberty, a.k.a. Libby. Stryker is a cougar shifter from a wealthy family. All his other siblings have found their mates and Stryker was feeling the itch for a mate if his own. Stryker is 35 and still lives at his parents house, because he didn't see the point in leaving, but thats ok cause he's a shifter. Libby is human. She is 23. She is a virgin. She still lives at home, with her parents. She is a librarian. Her parents are certified hippies. Stryker comes in town just to get away for awhile. He is a man of few words and prefers to let his animal side out. He takes a job at the local mechanic shop, and rents a hunting cabin. The shop is right across from the library so it wasn't hard for Libby to spot him. Plus it's a very small town and strangers tend to stick out. Also Stryker rides a motorcycle- hard to ignore. Stryker didn't even realize that Libby had been checking him, until he up and leaves town for his brother's wedding. When he comes back Libby gets all up in his grill about where he was and when she touches him, he knows. He knows that he found his mate. Stryker comes on pretty strongly with Libby because he is not used to talking and is trying very hard to deny his instincts to mate with her immediately. Libby seems to like his approach. Stryker also tries to woo Libby by providing her with her favorite snacks, her own motorcycle helmet and jacket, and some steamy make out sessions. He even charms her parents aftet her dad invites him to dinner. Even with some of the language that came out of Stryker's mouth, I think this book was very cute and sweet, a little steamy at times but sweet also.

Cougar's Gift by Moxie North
Liberty Berkowitz is the local librarian in her small town of Port May. She's happy and content in her job, with her romance books and her crazy parents, until she lays eyes on the new mechanic in town. His tall, sexy and rough around the edges. She knows she borders on been a stalker because she watches him every given chance, but she can't help herself. Until he disappears and returns a month later, and her stalker behaviour comes out in full force.
Stryker Hayes is a were cougar with a huge trust fund. He likes to just ride his bike on the open road, keep to himself and do a bit of work here and there. He never thought that finding a job in a small town would find him his mate. When he first meets her his shocked at her behaviour as much as finding her. His first impression of shock soon changes when he realises that she is HIS MATE.
Stryker wants Libby so bad, that he doesn't think straight and goes about everything all wrong. His feelings towards Libby are instant and doesn't really know how to deal with them, and he panics. He messes things up horribly but he doesn't mean to. Will Libby see the real him and be able to forgive him, and accept him for who he is!
This was a really really sweet story. I loved the concept and the storyline of the virgin meets rough biker thats also a shifter, it's a definite a favourite for me. The characters were very warm and awkward and were well suited, very likable. It was a nice relaxed read and easy to follow. There were a few surprises which I really enjoyed. I found that this story also had a humorous and heartbreaking parts which just added to the emotion of the story, which is really important. Loved it!
Libby wasn’t truly stalking the handsome biker, if she was only watching him from the library window that wasn’t really stalking, right? She really didn’t understand where this obsession came from. She simply had to watch him, she felt connected to this stranger in some way. And when he disappeared for almost a month, Libby figured he’d moved on. Until he showed up, again.
Stryker’s first indication that he’d found his mate was as he was being screamed at by this petite beauty intent on pounding on his chest. He had no clue who she was or why she was so angry with him – but he did know one thing, she was his.
Cougar’s Gift is the story of the last Hayes sibling to find his mate. Stryker was a man, or a cougar, of few words. He’d made no plan to find his mate, he knew she existed somewhere and that they’d meet when the fates meant them to. He never figured on a small town librarian whose knowledge of romance came strictly from books. A beauty whose parents are hippy throwbacks who definitely need adult supervision. He never expected it to be so difficult to tell her that not only was he rich, but he was a shifter as well. He got the I love you part right. And they definitely got the sex part totally right. But he left it too late to tell her everything. He never lied, he just didn’t tell the whole truth. And that might cost him everything.
Libby and Stryker’s romance is touching, funny, sensious and a very good example of a man a few words communicating both well and badly. I enjoyed their romance very much. If I had to pick a favorite sibling in this series, I don’t think I could. Each has been charming and unique. Now the wait to discover what’s next.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
In this book we meet Libby and Stryker. Libby is a small town librarian who does the same thing day in and day out. She still lives with her parents, and oh ya the real shocker even after going to college is still a virgin. The values that Libby has are amazing she believes that the gift she will give to a man will be the one she chooses as well as someone worthy of receiving this gift. The kicker in this decision that she has made is the new biker in town. There is just something about him that has her watching him day in and day out from somewhere in the library. There is something about this biker that draws her to him like a moth to a flame she can't get enough of being with him but doesn't know why.
Stryker knows that his cougar deserves a mate just like his brothers have found but with his inability to speak with women it is hard for him to even think about that. However when the little librarian comes over and starts chewing him out for not being around in awhile he cat knows he has found his mate. The problem he is having his human side and his cat are having a difference of option on when exactly they should tell this little librarian about him. Stryker knows the longer he waits to tell her the more of a chance he has to loose her.
This book is about love and acceptance of who you are not what you are or those around you. This book can be read as a stand alone but reading the first two books in this series will have you understanding some of the references more easily. This book is amazing and will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend this book.
Stryker Hayes, the last one of the Hayes siblings to find his mate. He never wanted anything to do with the family's winery so he would venture across the state and found something he loved to do and then move on. This time around, he found himself in a small town name Port May where he worked as a mechanic.
Liberty Berkowitz aka "Libby" was a librarian who found herself being drawn to the mysterious new hot mechanic in town...She'd been watching him since the day he came to town.
But one day Stryker left town to attend his twin brother Everett's wedding....while he was away, Libby missed him more than she expected herself to.
When Stryker came back to Port May, he finally found his ONE...She was no other than the town's sweetheart, Libby. The fact that she was right there all the time observing him made him and his cougar feel like they wasted precious time. Getting to know each other have been a delightful and painful journey for Stryker and Libby. But it was so WORTH IT.
Who would have thought that the tough and quieter one of the Hayes siblings would be the dirtiest and most impassioned lover. Stryker's relationship with his siblings was beautiful, loved how he called Dax for advice.
COUGAR'S GIFT was mind-blowing, what an amazing way to end a great series...Moxie North did an excellent job. I recommend this book and I give it five stars.
"I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review."
The storyline of this third book in the PNW Cougars was unexpected. Stryker Hayes, Everett's twin, has made an appearance in previous books as the one who doesn't talk much. While Everett (book two) is analytical and into computers, Stryker is into the mechanical and motorcycles. As a child he let Everett talk for him. Now, he only speaks when he has to. He has temporarily settled into Port May in Northern Oregon, near Portland, where he has taken a job as a mechanic at a garage. (Yet he drives to the airport at Roseburg in the southern end of the state for an emergency flight out). Liberty Berkowitz, the town's young human librarian, was raised by hippies. Her father is a naturopath and her mother grows herbs. Libby moved back in with them after college to keep watch on them. She has noticed a new man in town from her library's second floor window, and when he disappears she misses him. So when he returns a few weeks later, she does something out of character, she confronts him in front of the Redemption MC, a wolf shifter pack that just rolled into town. He immediately recognizes the woman in his face as his mate, but how does a man who only speaks in monosyllables tell her everything she needs to know? Of course he does it all wrong. I enjoyed this book, though not quite as much as the previous two in this spin-off series. I think I expected more because of the build-up for Stryker. And since he is the last of the unmated Hayes children, I'm hoping there will be another spin-off. Maybe with Decklan Kane and the Redemption MC?
I was gifted this book for an honest review and have to say I really enjoyed reading this book. I love when an author decides to make the Pacific Northwest a part of the story.

COUGAR'S GIFT was mind-blowing, what an amazing way to end a great series...Moxie North did an excellent job. I recommend this book and I give it five stars. Even though this is a first for me reading this series and Author. Can't wait to read more of her books.
Gruff, man of few words, Stryker is the last of his siblings to find a mate. The he hardly expects to meet her for the first time in front of a group of bikers (also shifters) with her running up pounding on his chest demanding to know where he went. Libby has been visually stalking him since he came to town, until he left for weeks. He was no less surprised than she was of her actions. Not a normal reaction from the small town librarian.
This is such a cute love story, with plenty of emotion thrown in, as well as characters that are real characters in every sense of the word. They have instant attachment, lust and real feelings for each other going for them, however there is a lot going against them. Stryker is afraid to spill the truth about himself and he is hiding plenty.
Their love is touching, steamy, really steamy and one that is fun to read. We get to visit with both families, they have some real quirky members. But trust is important. He sticks by her until an emergency calls him away--at the worst time. Life threatening time. Can they overcome the differences, can she survive?
This is a winner and a full length, well plotted, story you will enjoy start to finish. A hearty recommend.
I received this book as an ARC free for an honest review. Third and I believe final book in the PACIFIC NORTHWEST COUGARS series. What a lovely heroine. Libby is a sweet shy funny and cute virginal librarian who is also a bit kookie, as proven when she walks up to someone who she does not know (has only been watching him out the window) and screamingly berates him for being gone. I loved how weird her parents were but it was even nicer that Libby loved them all same.
Stryker, hhmm how to describe him. Quiet, unsure, with not a lot to say to anyone, except Libby. He was a such a sweetie, especially how he cared for her the first time they made love until he became one big chicken who did not tell Libby the truth about himself and nearly cost Libby her life. Not cool Stryker. He was so in the wrong and I think Libby forgave him way too easily. She should have made him sweat a little longer but as I said, Libby is so nice.
Stryker was lucky that his sister in law Effie had a long chat with Libby and told her everything he should have. Would have loved to see Stryker’s ratbag mother meeting Libby’s parents. All in all a really good read.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review .My opinion of this book is wow this is the best book I have read in a long time. This book blew me away I loved every single moment of this story it is well written ,flows along smoothly and at the perfect rate without any lags . The characters were amazing I loved the internal and external dialogue of these two .Libby is a small town Librarian who has been watching the new guy in town for months .Stryker is quiet he doesn't talk much and has a couple of secrets .When Libby and he meet for the first time its electric he knows shes his One and will do anything to get and keep her .Libby is stunned by the attention Stryker shows her and is falling hard for him but they do have a few roadblocks in their story .This story is full of humor ,passion and lots of other emotions that will have you attached and rooting for these two the whole way .I cannot express how much all paranormal lovers out there need to read this book .I love love loved it !!
Stryker is a what some would call a loner. He doesnt speak much, keeps to himself a lot and usually doesn't stay in one place for long. That is until he met Libby.
Liberty or Libby as she likes to be called knew she would never leave her hometown. She left for college but came back afterwards. She was raised by parents that were not your average people.
Libby started watching Stryker when he first came to town. She would fantasize about being with him. Then one day she went to him and from that moment on things would change. They started dating but quickly progress into more. When an emergency hit home for Stryker and has to leave does Stryker realize that je messed. Will Libby be able to forgive ?
I received this ARC for a honest review. First off-- Cover is way better than book 2!
I enjoyed Stryker and Libby, the "grunting" Mechanic and geeky Librarian.
Libby's parents are an absolute hoot and I could have read them all day.
As with the second book, I found the cat's monologue amusing. Stryker is damn sexy BUT his grunting grated on my nerves -- a change of words to describe this would have made him better.
Libby was a good written female lead and her "ramblings" like her parents I could read a full book on.
I feel these Cougars jump in too fast when they discover the "one" again I get it's their fate but it's just to quick.
Will I read book 3? Yes, I may have some issues with parts but overall the dynamics to a good series is there.
This story was lot tamer than the others in the series. It was still awesome. Stryker is the strong silent type and likes to be by himself. He's been in Oregon working at a small town garage. He had no ideal he was being watched by librarian Libby for weeks. Libby has been peeking at the biker Stryker for a while. He's just like the heroes in the romances she reads. He disappears for a couple weeks then he's back. She looking out the window and sees a bunch of bikers, thinking he's being attacked she runs to rescue him. That's when the mate call hits him. It's so sweet how he woos her, but the problem is he doesn't tell her what he his until its almost to late.
I was given a free ARC copy, for an honest review. Stryker's story was fantastic. The story had all the things I look for...humor, romance, passion, and conflict. Stryker and Libby are complete opposites, yet are perfect for one another. I especially liked their first face to face meeting. That had me cringing while laughing out loud. The hole he kept digging himself into also made for the perfect conflict. The secondary characters, Libby's parents, were great. They were a cornball pair who loved their daughter, which added many emotional elements to the story. I am looking forward to reading future stories by this author.
If you've read any of Moxie North shifter tales you know there us action, mystery, romance, and lots of edge of your seat gripping adventure. The best are the sarcasm, wit, humor and all out laughs!!! You get to meet some of the other PNW shifters in this book, and even Stryker's older brother ( and Alpha ) and his human mate make an appearance! Most of it is all about Stryker and Liberty ( "Libby" ). Very well worth reading!!!!! I received this book as a gifted ARC from Moxie in exchange for an honest review.
Liberty is a funny spirited girl. With the wonderment of finding her soulmate, and on some mystic level she takes the matter into her hands and shoves her way into Stryker's world. Stryker is a take charge growly gruntin' alpha male, who rarely speaks to people until her and he finds his tongue with her. however, insecurity can affect the strongest of persons. Will fear destroy them? Can the soulmate destiny see them through? This is a must read..........
