This book was exciting. It was a cross between Heroes & Super Heroes. About a group of people who have special talents such as making the earth move or creating fire with their minds. The heroine has even a more special gift. These talented individuals are brought together to this special school to be tested and evaluated. The purpose? For the betterment of mankind or something more sinister?
I would recommend this book to all.

5 STARS.....Thanks to J.P.Hart for the ARC and the adorable puppy sketch. I found this to be a really interesting concept. I can see this becoming a thrilling series. Puff is especially a great touch.

I received this book free from the author/publisher. This book started out really well. Well thought out characters, gritty and real which can be hard to pull off in a fantasy book. I was really enjoying some of the twists and plot turns (a couple I did not anticipate) until toward the end of the book when a hellhound was added to the list of characters. This is where it got a bit corny for me. My feeling is that the book would have been better if the hound's role/talking would have been scaled back quite a bit along with the level of his relationship with the other characters. This was my only real concern with the book. I still gave it a "liked it rating" as overall it was entertaining.

I received a copy of this book through the Goodreads Giveaways. I really enjoyed this book by JP Hart and can't wait to read more! I really liked the story line and of course because there is a young woman heroine. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because I felt during a few times in the story line the author left a few holes. Not holes that are meant to be there and as you read on you have an aha moment about what you read earlier.

All in all, I really am anxious to read another JP Hart book!!

Good first book

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this first book and am eagerly awaiting book 2. JP Hart impresses me as someone from whom we can expect great things. The world needs more strong female characters for our daughters to emulate. Two thumbs up!

Not a bad start

Enjoyed the premise, had great character building. I wouldn't mind an animal like Puff. Could have done with better editing.
