When I saw the title I knew I wanted to read this! When the ARC arrived on my Kindle, what I did not realize is that once I started reading it I was going to want to hold this book in my hands and refer to it often! Even though I have the e-copy I have pre ordered a copy of Witchy Mama for myself from The Book Depository. There are just some books you simply must own and hold in your hands, for me this book is one of them. This book has some wonderful advice and recommendations for first time and new moms as well as moms like myself who have been parenting for a while now. Even if this is not the path you normally follow there is sound, promising and inspiring ideas in this book. I personally would purchase this book as a gift for another like minded mom to be, as well as friends who have been moms for years. I was very impressed with this book and can not wait to hold it in my hands.

This book is a great resource for pagan moms, especially during pregnancy and in the very early stages of parenting. Lots of great suggestions on rituals, crystals, herbs, and oils to aid in day-to-day parenting drama. Plus there's a very thorough section on zodiacs, numerology, and other birth-related magickal associations.

This book was fun to read. There are a lot of great tips for maintaining a restful mind while pregnant and after childbirth. While not all of the tips and exercises in this book were my cup of tea, I appreciate an alternative school of thought to the majority of pregnancy and parenting books out there. I’ve utilized a few exercises already and plan to try a few more postpartum. For anyone who is pregnant, trying, or a parent, and is interested in witchcraft, Wicca, or alternative spirituality, I’d recommend giving this book a try.

One thing I’d like to add, though, is the use of sage while pregnant can potentially cause contractions and trigger miscarriage. Please verify that herbs, teas, incense, and essential oils are okay to use before attempting the exercises that are recommended in this book.

Wonderfully informative book! I am so grateful for all the wisdom and experience shared by the author.
I was searching for a book that bridged the physical aspects of pregnancy (which most books address) with the spiritual aspects, and this book nails it! It is empowering while providing several spiritual tips, practices, guides, and bits of information.

Book was ok. Lots of information many already know. Very focused on those who just had a baby or are pregnant. Although they state that formula feeding is option it has a heavy sense of lativism tone to the feeding chapter.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Perfect for the witchy hippie mama. Lots of ways to incorporate INTENTION in your day (& years!) birthing & raising babies. This book actually sparked a retreat offering as part of my business too! Love this book!

This book has some great information in it but often leaves out the why. it is full of admonitions, but very limited clarity on why certain things are verboten.

Goodness me! This is a book that was so clearly forged at the anvil of motherhood.

Both contributing writers have clearly taken some time to think back upon their own pregnancy and time of early motherhood and have carefully considered the complexity of issues, challenges and demands that emerged for them during this time.

What is so delightful about reading this book is the sheer sense of grounded practicality with which they approach motherhood; even from a higher, spiritual perspective.

The result is that 'Witchy Mama' is a book for those who wish to get deep down and dirty with the process of motherhood—including its build up.

The book does highlight the vast amount of work that needs to be done in order to set the ground right for a magickal emergence of a new life into a Wiccan world but throughout the book the writers offer much solid practical and spiritual advice to anyone who simply wants to engage with a less-material framework for the young in their care.

In short, this book is a handbook on natural magick in its purest sense and is one that I feel will inevitably lead a mother and her child into a vastly more colorful and exciting world than the one offered by our currently drab and clinical society.

Clever and exceedingly well written, this is a publication that promises great things and over-delivers throughout.

Highly recommended!
