Brand new Guardian of Earth Dr. Zeke Landry is just learning the ropes when his extraterrestrial warning system sounds. Merciless invaders are on their way to 2065 Earth. With no tangible proof, Zeke is powerless to warn anyone until the space ships arrive. First Contact has finally happened, and the aliens are tall and green.
The Maleem say they come in peace and want to explore trade opportunities. World leaders salivate at the chance for interstellar markets. As the Maleem tour the planet, countries welcome them with open arms and try to curry favor.
Meanwhile, pop star Queen Bea and her sister are stranded in Japan, diverting Zeke and his android’s attention. Bea sings her pop hit “Little Green Men,” during a friend’s concert, and the Maleem show up for the performance. Afterward, the Maleem hand out jeweled necklaces to key leaders, enslaving them and beginning a reign of terror and annihilation.
When Zeke is enslaved by the Maleem, all looks bleak for humanity. Outgunned, outmaneuvered, and outfoxed, citizens of Earth are doomed, unless someone helps them. Can Zeke rally and save the world a second time?

Her science background lends authenticity to complex environmental issues in her science fiction.
Her dystopian sci-fi series, The Guardian of Earth, joins her other series: the Dreamwalker Series (paranormal mystery), the Cleopatra Jones series (cozy mystery), and the Mossy Bog trilogy (romantic suspense). Book one in her Guardian series was a Kindle Scout winner.
When Zeke discovers a hostile alien fleet is headed to Earth, he is determined to stop them. His role as Guardian of Earth and descendant of a faraway race is a secret. He trusts no one for help, including his robot valet, Forman. It’s a good thing, since Forman’s creator has tampered with his programming. She’s put a locator inside him, and this becomes useful as Zeke and Forman are compromised by the Maleem invaders. Zeke has a narrow escape aided by his girlfriend, Jessie. Could they use the way she freed him as a means to repel the alien force? Why is it that humans are disappearing around the globe? As more world leaders succumb to the Maleem mind link via a mysterious necklace, Zeke consults his Taman relatives for answers. How can he defeat an ingenious enemy who is seemingly unstoppable? They tell Zeke that he needs to have faith in his own powers and the help of others who believe in him. Can he use his newfound heritage to protect the planet?
Filled with action, adventure, and suspense, this story will take you on a ride that’s out of this world. The secondary characters are memorable and unique. Here’s hoping Zeke and friends return to save the planet again. An exciting, edge-of-your-seat read!
I am a fan of sci-fi, futuristic military, and dystopian thrillers. This is why I was looking forward to reading this book. Yet, I struggled hard to get excited about this book. So much so that I could only read a page or two at a time. I put the book down with my intent of brushing my hands of it. However, I picked it up one last time as I had some more time and less distractions. Not thinking it would change anything about how I felt with this book. I was wrong. Although it did take me until about chapter 18 and about 70 pages into the story to really become invested in what was transpiring in the book but it was a good one. Part of this might have been because this book is book two so I did not develop that relationship with this storyline right from the beginning.
Yet in my opinion I would have to say this book read more like a futuristic military type book than a dystopian thriller. However again I did get a good image of what the Maleem are and what they looked like. Zeke had a lot of knowledge that helped make him an good adversary to the Maleem.
I read Rigel Carson's first book in the Guardian of the Earth series, G-1, and loved it, so I was thrilled to get an advanced copy of G-2. I'm not usually a reader of sci-fi/futuristic novels, but Ms. Carson fills this series with original characters and enough suspense to keep me turning the pages. The Maleem, G-2's alien invaders, claim to come in peace, but their real objective is to take over Planet Earth. The challenge for our genius hero, Zeke Landry, if he can avoid the alien enslavement, is to save Earth once more. And it's not an easy task.
Normally the word "dystopian" in a book description sends me running the other way, but since I'd read several other books by Maggie Toussaint, I gave her G-1 a try and enjoyed it enough to read the second book. Once again, Zeke is called upon to save the world, this time from "big green men" who have managed to pull the wool over everyone else's eyes as to their real reason for coming to Earth.
The author's narrative style and descriptions put you right in the action, and even if you haven't read G-1, you'll be caught up in the story.
This dystopian fiction novel jumps right back into the story. I liked how chapter one had some information about Zeke that reminds readers of who he is and a little about his history. The chapter does not go in-depth it just gives a quick refresher which is a nice change. MY favorite character in the book was Zeke I really liked his personality. I felt like he was a real person and not just a character.I also liked the robot Forman, I found it interesting that he had emotions and could experience thing like love just like a human or alien would. I enjoy the interaction scenes between Forman and Zeke.
The author did a great job with the book. The scenes blend together perfectly and there are no plot holes in the book. The author truly had a way with words in this book as word by word the reader is drawn in deeper and deeper until they would not even thing of putting the book down. I finsihed the entire book in one go, no breaks at all!

I'm truly torn after reading G-2 by Rigel Carson. The writing is a clean and effortless as ever and I found myself drawn in just as I was with G-1. However, and I don't want to spoil exactly what frustrated me towards the end because it would be epic spoilers I am still hooked on the series and looking forward to the further adventures of Dr. Zeke Landry, his awesome friends and the worlds most awesome sexy robot, but if you are like me and get turned off with a bit of a Dr. Who (nope no time travel, just that style or wrapped up in the last five minutes ending) then you might be a little disappointed. However, I would strongly recommend seeing for yourself because the ride to the end is fabulous. *I received a free copy in return for my honest review*

G-2 is the second book in the Guardian of Earth Series. Although I haven't read G-1, this book does stand on it own.
The main character, Zeke, has had to save Earth before and once again he has to save it. This time it's from big green aliens who are pretending to be friends.
The author's writing is easy to follow and is descriptive enough that I can picture what is going on, but it isn't so descriptive that I have to skip paragraphs.
G-2 is full of action and suspense. If you like science fiction, I'm sure you'll like G-2.
Great follow-up to G-1. The futuristic setting of this series is well described without bogging the reader down with too much detail. I like Zeke Landry's sort of nerdy personality as well as Queen Bea's and her sister's. Science fiction isn't a genre I normally read, but this series is written well, has enjoyable characters and just the right amount of romance.
