A. D. Fosse's darkly different futurist fantasy. Offbeat, subversive, and richly grotesque. The apocalypse just got weird...
Long after the death of humankind came the Hive. Then rose the Blood Giant bringing chaos and the end. Now the Earth is done and all that remains are the discontinued: those the Hive deemed unworthy of evacuation.
Dusk is addled and abandoned. His only concern now is deciding how best to die. The only thing he knows for certain: he aint gonna be sober when extinction finally takes him. Yet hope hides in the strangest of places. And soon Dusk finds himself responsible for more than simply his own destiny.
A. D. Fosse is alive and well and writing words on fallen down trees. He refers to himself in the third person when writing biographies.
His brain is rarely elevated more than five feet and eight inches from terra firma. He is younger than some and older than others. A man of science and silliness. A man of English dirt.
His stories difficult to read when performing manual labor.
I loved this book! The story had me hooked by the first paragraph, the writing is visceral, graphic, gritty, humorous the author paints such a vivid story and creates this world and characters that keep you wanting more.
Fiercely imagined and told in a uniquely fresh voice. Minor editing oversights here and there, but otherwise a good read. It’s a well-told action tale with surprising philosophical themes that resonate in today’s contentious world. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
A.D. Fosse has created a work of art. Any fantasy fanatic MUST experience this story! It is rare today to find yourself reading something not only completely original, but thoughtfully written and well researched. To be emotionally attached to any character in a story is a great achievement on the authors part but wow... From heroes to villains and everyone in between- It is impossible not to love them all and want to see them through. This is definitely not your every day apocalypse story, it is literally written for everyone's taste and has every element that one could ask for in a fantasy novel. Each sentence is strung like a poem and I found myself laughing, crying and astonished that I was never able to predict what was coming next. "In Light of the Blood Giant" will awaken your imagination, blow your mind, and assure your mind that creativity is alive and well.
This book is very interesting. Science fiction genre deserves a quality readings . Thank you for A.D. Fosse, A whole series of words in the work of a serious and beautiful.
