I read the first book in this companion series, For the Love of Ash, last summer and it was charming and refreshing. No overblown drama and thoroughly likable characters that had me invested in their HEA. So I jumped at the chance to receive the second in the series which focuses on a secondary character from the first book (the sister of the male lead from the first book). I never particularly warmed to Lindsay in the first book, she always seemed a bit cold and prickly, but she was a secondary character so it didn't really matter. Unfortunately here, where she is the main character, it mattered a lot.

Lindsay and Finn were high school sweethearts. Those rare couples that find each other early in life and it's the real thing. They had plans after high school that would keep them together - Lindsay would follow Finn to Canada where he would train while being recruited by professional hockey teams. But that never happened. Not together, anyway. The night before they were to leave, Finn broke up with Lindsay.

Six years later Finn and Lindsay are thrown together when Lindsay's brother, who is Finn's best friend, is getting married. They are both in the wedding so there's no avoiding each other. Not that Finn's trying. He's been missing Lindsay for six long years. He was certain they would stay in touch after he left but instead Lindsay cut him out of her life. Now he's trying hard to rekindle the flame, or at least be her friend, but Lindsay is having none of it. Finn's actions six years ago cut her to her core and she's never been the same - building walls to protect her heart so no one can hurt her again. But Finn isn't giving up, not this time.

Now there's other way to say this: I didn't like Lindsay. Simple as that. She was bitter and angry and she hung on to the past with both hands and refused to let go. She certainly had her admirable qualities - her devotion to her siblings was remarkable and heartwarming. But when it came to Finn she was on total witch mode 24/7 - angry, rude, and hateful. She constantly rehashed the past and dwelt on the fact that he broke her heart and she could never trust him again. It became repetitive: Finn tries to be nice, Lindsay lashes out and cuts him off, she tells him how badly he hurt her. Repeat, repeat, repeat. We get it Lindsay, someone hurt you SIX YEARS AGO when you were teenagers. Build a bridge and get over it, girlfriend.

The saving grace here was Finn. This guy was either a saint or a glutton for punishment. He professed his love for Lindsay constantly but for the life of me I never could understand why. He went on about what an amazing person she was, but I never saw it. Finn however was sweet and genuine and loving and 100% selfless. He put himself out there again and again, sharing his feelings with Lindsay, begging her to open up to him as well, willing to alter almost everything in his life to accommodate her and be with her. In other words, serious book boyfriend material.

I think I would have been more forgiving of Lindsay's deplorable behavior towards Finn if she had come around sooner. But this went on until about the 70% mark and by that time it was too late for me - I was already wanting to stick pins in a Lindsay voodoo doll. Thank goodness for Finn... because all my happy moments came from him.

4 1/2 stars!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series, For the Love of Ash, and in my review I asked for more from the Wilson siblings. And now we have Lindsay's story! Yay!

Lindsay and Finn were in love. She was ready to leave her life behind and follow Finn as he became a profession hockey player, but Finn wouldn't let that happen. You see, Lindsay was thrust into the role of caretaker for her younger siblings after it was clear that her parents weren't going to do it. Then add on the fact that her father was a violent man and Lindsay did all she could to protect her brothers and sisters. Knowing this and not wanting her to regret her decision later, Finn left Lindsay behind, without giving her a say in the matter.

Now it is six years later and this book starts from that heartwarming hockey rink scene towards the end of For the Love of Ash. We get it from Lindsay and Finn's point of view and it was from that moment on that I knew this was going to not only be a great read, but also an emotional read. When it becomes known that Finn is going to be around for the next month or so, Lindsay start to spiral emotionally. She never dealt with Finn leaving her the way he did and all those leftover emotions catch up to her.

Finn. What is about guys named Finn? )Heaven help me if I ever meet one in real life.) But I digress, I just loved him. As much I disagree with the way he handled his break up with Lindsay, I can see why he did it. Throughout the book he says (out loud or in his head), "How can I fix it?" He absolutely regrets the way he handled things and wants to make it right. He even agrees to be "just friends" with Lindsay, especially if that is all he can get from her. He loves her just as much as he did six years ago.

And as much as I loved this book, Lindsay made me crazy. I understood that she was hesitant to get involved with Finn after what happened, but her stubbornness started to get on my nerves after a while. Finn was doing everything he could to show her that he was willing to make up for the mistake her made all those years ago, but she kept getting in her own way. For so long she wouldn't let herself see it, but when she finally did:
Finn was my forever love. I knew it in my heart. I wanted it to be true. And I was tired of being slow and trying to do things the right way. We had just begun a relationship after being apart six years. Six years. It hardly felt that long now that he was here in real life. And I wouldn't play into the time we spent apart anymore.

SUCCESS!!! High five to Finn! ;-)

This is such a wonderful story and I'm a sucker for a second chance romance. I enjoyed watching Finn trying to win Lindsay back. He was so sweet and I just kept my fingers crossed that things would work out for the best. I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I felt all the emotions!

Now I can't wait to see what Wilson sibling we will read about next.

I was a very lucky person who got a early copy of this book and I must say that I really loved it. I started reading it and couldnt stop reading until I was fnished with it and I know at least one soul who didnt like it, my dog, he tried to do everything to get my attention without success. :P Poor thing, I know.

So this book is the ultimate love story. Finn and Lindsey is two young people who find comfort in each other and have the love we all want to have, and some of us is lucky to have. I like how two ordinary people who is so different and still so alike in so many ways can overcome everything together. I am also a lover of hockey so the theme in the book is like perfect. You dont have to like hockey or sport to love this story. I would say you dont even have to know anything about it to enjoy and love the story.

I am so inlove this with book. This is the second book in the “For the love of” series but it can be read as a standalove like the first one. This is good if you havent read the first one, you can without a problem pick this one up but I must say, Taylor is a very good author and all her books I have read is so great. and perfect. So read all of them.

“For the love of Hockey” is released today so you should grab you copy as soon as you can and start reading. You will thank me later and I promiss you will find an author who does amazing works.

5 STAR READ!!

I don't read a lot of sports based books, so I was kind of curious about this one; and with it being a second chance story, I just had to jump on it! What I loved about this story was that even with being pushed away, Finn never gave up. For the first time in 6 years, Finn lays eyes on his high school sweetheart, Lindsay. The only problem is that she wants absolutely nothing to do with him. Lindsay thought she would never see Finn again, but that changes when her brother proposes to his girlfriend and asks Finn to be one of his groomsmen, she knows that she will not be able to avoid him. All of the little glances and small touches, start riling both of them up and Lindsay can't take it. She is still hurt from 6 years ago when Finn left her and their dreams together to pursue his hockey career without her. Will these two be able to move on from the past or is Lindsay set in stone with what she wants: to stay away from Finn forever.

If you love sports based books and/or second chance romances, I highly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know if Finn was going to get his way!

I was really looking forward to reading Lindsey's book since reading about her in For The Love Of Ash, I couldn't wait to get stuck in and hear her and Finn's story.

I have to say though I found it hard to get into at times. I understood Lindsey's hesitation towards Finn but she was a complete b!tch to him at times.

I have to say though once I got into the story it had me hooked and even though at times I could hardly stand to read on because of Lindsey I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed Taylor's writing style and I like the way she draws you in and also the fact we got to read about the other members of the family!

I received an ARC from the author TAYLOR LAVATI in exchange for an honest opinion. This is Mismousey's very honest opinion of her book FOR THE LOVE HOCKEY.

Now having already read the first in this delicious series of Love series. I have to say that Ms Lavati hasn't her readers down. Matter of fact- she has taken this one even farther than the last one.

Her writing skills are so unique that you are left speechless and so moved with emotion. To the point that you are feeling that emotion jump off the page at you and onto you. Ms. Lavati - is a writer that is very dramatic and descriptive. Her stories -characters and scenes all show this. She is able to bring her characters to life before your eyes - and with such detail. You actually believe that you are seeing them standing right next to you talking. The scenes in the FTLH are so well defined. As a reader- you will think you are in a hockey rink ice skating , or at the house at with Wilson siblings.

As our story opens -it does a backflip on the reader! Yuppers that right everyone. This book does not take off where FOR THE LOVE ASH left off. (Just had to let you know that). Our story takes places before Maggie and Luke got married.

Matter of fact this is at the beginning when Finn comes back into Lindsley life. Lindleys is one of Luke's sister's. He has4 of them- Lindsley- Lauren -Lisa and Lilly. At any rate- Luke has asked Finn to be one of his best men for his wedding. And of course being that Maggie is no other siblings-she has asked if Luke's sister's would be in their wedding. She has asked Lindsley to be on of the maid of honor's along with two friends. Her new sister's are helping to plan the wedding with her.

Ash is all excited. Remember - Ash is Maggie's little brother that she has full custody of that she is now raising.

However- this story is exactly about Maggie and Luke. It's about Lindsley and Finn. And what happen to them 6 years before. Why they broke up. How hurt Lindsley is over how Finn left her. And exactly why she thinks she now hates him.

So when Lindsley finally is able to talk to him. She tells him off and then informs him that she hates him. She never wants to speak to him again. And then turns and walks away. Just like he did to her 6 years before.

He doesn't understand why she is so mad at him. He left her for her own good. However-he never explained the reason. Just made her think that it was for the better of his career.

The Wilson siblings have all been protect each other over the years. Lindsley didn't want to stray too far from home so that she could make sure that her younger brother and sisters were protected. Now it is Luke's turn to protect his younger one's. You see their father love to beat them. And their mother likes to stay drunk- so she doesn't notice what her husband does to the kids.

Will Lindsley allow Finn back into her heart again? Is there another chance for Love between them? In order to find out what happens YOU HAVE TO READ THE STORY!!! Mouse is not giving away anything!!

This story has so many twist and turns in it. It also has a story within a story. It is filled full of love- compassion-ups and downs- there's even some abuse in this story.

I recommend this book to all readers. Mismousey gives this a firm rating of 80 out 5 stars.

PLEASE ADD THIS TO YOUR GOODREADS READING LIST. THEN SKATE OVER AND GET YOUR COPY TODAY!!!

While reading For the Love of Ash, Lavati’s first book in this series, I was asking myself what was Lindsey’s story. Even then, I wanted to know more. Lindsey and Finn captivated me before I even began reading their story. It was then that I knew Lavati had to write For the Love of Hockey and I am more than happy to tell you that she has done an amazing job with their story.

For the Love of Hockey is a second chance love story about the oldest Wilson child, Lindsay and her highschool boyfriend Finn. You do not have to read For the Love of Ash to read this story, however, since it’s a series, I highly recommend that you do in order to grasp the backstory that was created within the first book. Lindsey has always been the mother figure in the Wilson household. Surviving an abusive father and a drunk socialite for a mother, Lindsey has done her best to hold her brothers and sisters together preventing them from suffering the blows at the hands of their father. Even at a young age, Lindsey seeks comfort with her highschool boyfriend Finn. Finn has dreams, big ones of becoming a professional hockey player. Realizing that his dreams can’t take Lindsey away from her family, he lets her go. Six years later, they reunited thanks to her brother’s wedding. Finn wants Lindsey and Lindsey hates Finn… or does she?

Lavati does an amazing job outlying the emotions of Finn and Lindsey’s characters. She painted a clear picture of how even though they achieved their dreams, they were still lost without one another. Even though they had grown so much over the last six years, the root of their feelings and love for one another was just as strong as the day Finn left.

Although, I loved the overall story of For the Love of Hockey, there were some things I thought could have been a little better to have put this story over the top for me. I am one of those readers who needs the timelines and all to match consistently. At times in this book, I couldn’t tell where we were in the timespan of things and I felt like it was a little off from FTLOA. A time or two it was like some siblings were there/not there, who had met who didn’t quite match up.
In book one the fear of the Wilson household reigned larger than it did in FTLOH. I would have loved to have seen more confrontation from Lindsey and especially Finn towards the Wilson parents. I felt like the parental presence should have been so much stronger whether that be in the form of flashbacks to Lindsay's childhood or confrontations from past hurts. But let it be said that none of these issues deterred me from the great story Lavati gave us.

Even with the things I thought could have been different, it didn’t take away from the fact that I opened this book and devoured it in one sitting. I still loved Finn and Lindsey’s story. Most of all I still want Lavati to give us one more book in this series- Lilly’s. I am desperate to see what this vivacious, intelligent young Wilson has to offer us and can only hope Lavati does too!

When I read FOR THE LOVE OF ASH, I was drawn in to the feels and hurt that radiated between Lindsay and Finn, and I was one of the people who went to the author and begged for more stories of this Wilson clan. These 'L'-named siblings have drawn me in, and while most of the others are still young yet, I love a good series, and I definitely want to see this family as they grow up and grow in love -- I just am not entirely sure how their stories will be told.

As is extremely evident in the above interview with Finn and Lindsay, Lindsay is protective of her family -- and she harbors a major grudge. When the woman is hurt, it takes a lot to fix that. Finn's journey toward forgiveness is certainly not an easy one -- even though the love he has for Lindsay, that he's always had for Lindsay, is all-consuming. He always put Lindsay first -- even when it bit him in the hind end.

I absolutely adored Finn's love for Lindsay -- and for the Wilson family. Having been best friends with Luke for years, and Lindsay's boyfriend when younger, he knows exactly what goes on behind closed doors. That said, there was a point in FOR THE LOVE OF HOCKEY where his fears fell a little flat for me. The turmoil came, sure, but in his "Are you safe?"... I would have liked more there.

Lindsay's character often pulled too hot and cold for me, but that was directly due to the cold, hard armor she wore. She was hard and strong, but whiny in the next moment (which bothered me to no end). I understood her need to put distance between herself and Finn, but on the flip side --

It had been 6 years.

They both grew, they both changed -- even if the root feelings, the love they each held for the other, simply had been dormant until they were both at different places in life. These two were the definition of soul mates. They found one another young and had to grow up in order to fully understand what their destinies held for one another -- their feelings were so strong, the grudges so hard, yet their lives so in-sync, because life wanted them together.

For me, personally, the drama of these two moving past hurt and back into love, was a bit too drawn out, allowing me to lose interest in parts. I also felt that, where the drama of patriarch Wilson in ASH held a bigger part, it fell a little flat here in HOCKEY. And with that, I'm not entirely sure if Ms. Lavati can continue this series, or where exactly she will bring it -- because I'm going to be honest, I'm annoyed with Lauren and Lilly, and it would take a greatly woven story for me to fully understand their ways.

All in all, though, while it took a few left turns too many, the path that Finn and Lindsay take to find their forever was a good one, and I'm glad that Ms. Lavati chose to allow their story to be told.

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Remarkable story of second chance love for Lindsay and Finn. Years ago, Finn was totally focused on attaining his dream of playing professional hockey. So he leaves behind the love of his life, Lindsay. But now years later a knee injury slows him down and he begins to regret his decision to leave Lindsay behind. Finn resolves to return to her and pickup where they left off. But he has a HUGH mountain to climb because Lindsay had been so devastated she buried her emotions and determined she hated him and would never let him near her again. So Finn sets out to do the impossible. The Reader has a frustrating but entertaining adventure as he campaigns to win her heart. It is frustrating because Lindsay blows hot and cold. Finn makes one step forward but her monumental insecurities shoves him three steps backward. Incredible read because it is so well written.
~~~~~~~~~~Shar's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

The hockey saga continues! This is the second book in the For The Love series and follows Lindsey and Finn through all of their ups and downs. Unfortunately for them, it's mostly downs. Can the two of them work together to find the upswing? All of the characters from the first book do return in this one. Characters are well developed. Their internal dialogue is clear and logical (well to them anyway lol). Interactions between the characters is spot on. Although I would love to put "dad" in his place. Development of Finn and Lindsey's relationship made sense but was heartbreaking to watch at times. I love how the author uses real names and places instead of making things up like a fake hockey team. This made the story more enjoyable to me.

This can be read as a stand alone. However, you will understand more about the other characters and their relationships if you read the first book. There is no cliffhanger and this does have an HEA.

~~~~~~~~~~Kirsty's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
This for me was good not amazing but still a good read. I would say you don't need to read the first book this is a stand alone. We have Lindsay and Finn who are exes from 6 years past. Who thanks to Lindsay's (Finns friend) brother getting married meet up again and spark is still there. Now Lindsay refuses to back down in her upset towards Finn. She seriously is stubborn all the way through this book
Finn is also stubborn as he point blankly refuses to give up. Turn of events makes both tell of their feelings for each other and it's about bloody time too. I would have liked for their to be more Hockey in this but that's just me. Enjoy reading !
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review over on my blog Pretty Little Book Blog.
Ready for more of the Wilson's?! I loved meeting this huge family of siblings in For The Love Of Ash and I was hoping we would get more about the other characters..Taylor does not disappoint! This story revolves around Lindsey (Luke's older sister) and Finn (Luke's best friend and Lindsey's prior flame) Finn. Finn returns to town along with the rest of the New York Rangers hockey team for the opening of Luke's rink and as soon as he steps foot into it the sparks between him and Lindsey begin. The attraction and their chemistry is immediately off the charts. (just when you think that the chemistry and intense moments of Luke and Maggie was the best then Finn and Lindsey come along and boom!)
Trying to figure out if they can get over their past and find a new start is a pretty huge part of the story. And it makes you want to keep reading straight through just to see if they make it. We also get the added bonus of checking in with all of our favorite characters from the Love Of Ash! (One of the things I was looking forward to the most about this book, I wasn't ready to let these characters go yet!)
The deeper we get into the story the more emotional it gets and the more you fall in love with the story! I believe that this is definitely Taylor's best book yet. She introduced us to a new level of her talemt. One of the things I have loved about Taylor's books is that there are times where the emotions going on in the story are so strong that I have to set my book down and process. I have to take a step back because I have become involved with these characters and their stories affect me, move me to a level that is too intense to keep reading haha. The last 30% of this book I think I had to stop 5 or 6 times because I was either gonna bawl my eyes out or shake Lindsey or both. The ending was bittersweet and I am so excited for the next book! I hope it's like this one was where we get to see what all of our favorite characters are up to even though the focus of the book is supposed to be one of the other siblings. I even want books about the older girls who aren't as close to Luke and Lindsey. Like what are their lives like? There is a major story There too I think.
** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **
Her name is Lindsay.
His name is Finn.
They love each other immensely.
High school sweethearts.
They have plans.
They never want to be apart.
Lindsay will go wherever Finn needs to be to start his hockey career.
Finn wants Lindsay by his side.
They are both ready to take the next step in life together.
But in the blink of an eye everything changes.
Finn is gone.
And Lindsay……She’s left to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart.
But what happens when they are reunited?
What happens when they are forced to be in the same room together?
What happens when they are forced to speak to one another after six long years of complete silence.
Chaos happens that’s what!!!
Will Lindsay ever get the answers she needs?
Can Finn ever repair the damage he did to her?
Will Lindsay ever be able to forgive Finn?
Will they ever be able to move on?
You’ll just have to read For The Love Of Hockey to find out.
Taylor Lavati yet again has amazed us with another phenomenal read. From beginning to end we were completely transfixed. We simply couldn't put it down.
We fell in love with Lindsay’s spirit, her strength, determination and sassy attitude.
We fell in love with Finn and his confidence, humour and determination.
We fell in love with them both and their ability to overcome heartache, pain and obstacles they both faced.
We loved the way we got to see so many characters from the first instalment For The Love Of Ash.
A Love Of Hockey is an absolute brilliant read so full of emotion it will leave you completely breathless.
Again to Taylor, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to read and review your beautiful novel.
We absolutely loved, loved, loved it.
We highly recommend For The Love Of Hockey to be on everyone’s TBR list. A definite MUST read.
A HUGE highly emotional, sinfully sexy 5 star read.
For the Love of Hockey is the second book in the For Love Series and after reading and loving book one I eagerly awaited book two and was not disappointed.
Lindsay Wilson has spent her entire life protecting her five younger siblings. At eighteen, she knew the man she’d devote her life to, but when he left her, her passion dimmed. Engrossing herself in her small business and jumping from guy to guy could only distract her for so long.
"I was a dumbass for giving my entire heart to him when I knew his aspirations would steal him away from me. But I did it anyway. I handed him my soul and let him squish it in one single night I never wanted to relive."
Finn Jacobs chose his dream of playing professional hockey over the girl he loved. Year after year he competed, throwing himself into the game. After an injury that could end his career for good, he begins to question his decision all those years ago.
Fast forward six years and Lindsay and Finns paths are about to cross again, leading up to some explosive showdowns as their reunion is less than ideal. Having each learnt to survive the loss of true love without the other must now try to put their past behind them and move on...eventually giving into their feelings they start their journey of forever...
I really enjoyed Lindsay and Finns story, I particularly enjoyed the dynamics of their relationship. I easily connected to them especially Lindsay her thoughts and feeling resonated with me on such a personal level it was hard not to feel emotionally involved. I thought the story flowed, had depth and I enjoyed the continuation of all the character's previously met in For the Love of Ash.
I would recommend and I for one can't wait to see what's next for this series.
WOW! I absolutely loved this story! Lindsay Wilson has spent her life protecting her five younger siblings. At 18, she knew the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with, but when he left her, it broke her. Now all she does is make her small business successful, and go from guy to guy, never getting attached. Finn Jacobs chose his dream of playing professional hockey over the girl he loved. Year after year, all he had was hockey. When an injury sidelines him, he realizes maybe he didn't make the right decision. Six years later, they finally come face to face for her brother's wedding, but Lindsay won't give him the time of day. Finn realizes that she's not the same girl he left, and he decides that he's not going to live without her anymore. As Finn starts to break down Lindsay's walls, will she give him a second chance?
OMG this story gutted me. I know Lindsay seemed like she should forgive, but I totally understood her. The character development is fantastic, with awesome secondaries. An angst filled, addicting, and well written story line flowed effortlessly. Taylor Lavati's very talented writing style had me all in from the beginning, while keeping my heart racing cover to cover. I physically felt all of Lindsay's emotions like they were my own, and I devoured the whole book in one sitting. Every time Lindsay and Finn were in the same room, the sparks flew out of my kindle, and finally led to some SMOKIN' HOT sexy scene goodness. I simply can't wait to read more by this author, as there are still some questions that I hope are answered, and I happily HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Here's my obligatory review!
Lindsay and Finn became a couple before I even made their story in my head.
What’s that saying? Don’t fix something that’s not broken. Yeah, well that’s how I felt. I loved Maggie and Luke and FTLOAm and I didn’t want to downplay them in any way. However one night I had a sort of epiphany. Lindsay and Finn forced their way into my head, and I wrote their book in less than a month. THAT’S how bad they wanted a book.
I am so freaking glad I did because this story is one of the most honest I've ever told. It's about two fractured souls who are trying to go about life the right way and do things young adults are supposed to. Literally, they spend six years apart before they realize they can't avoid each other any longer. It's not a dark novel, but it's real. Nothing is sugar-coated.
It's told in my signature style of reading the mind of the character and really spilling all the guts on the page. Lindsay is a flawed, hurt person who is far from perfect, but there are pieces of her that everyone can admire. Finn is genuine, unafraid. he isn't scared to show his emotions and be rejected. Lindsay and Finn together are...perfect in my eyes.
But don't let me spoil it for you all! Read the novel for yourself. <3 As usual, thanks for the continued love and support. TEAM WILSONS!
For The Love of Hockey. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this book by the amazing Taylor Lavati and I am so thankful. I cannot even begin to explain how long I have waited for this book and how special it has become to me. A must-read and definitely a tear-jerker.
Finn and Lindsey. Two lost souls who both found comfort in each other. Experiencing the kind of love we have always dreamed of, and having to find out how hard life is without them in each other's lives. Their journey both individually and together left me feeling all sorts of emotions. Pain, heartache, forgiveness and pure love. Having to put family and you career first and realising how important it is to have that one person who will be your rock, comedian, shield and everything. They were meant to be together. For the Love of Hockey.
This book is about making up for the mistakes you made, forgiving so you can look forward to the future, finding the love you have always desired and being needed by both your family and the love of your life. Truly amazing, Taylor. I can't begin to explain how proud I am of you. A book that is always going to remain with me. Absolutely beautiful.
For The Love of Hockey is book two in the For The Love series. It can be read as a standalone. This one is Lindsay and Finn's story. It's told in both their POVs. I loved that we got to see both their sides and see what they are thinking.
Finn and Lindsay had their life planned out, she would have followed him anywhere but with one decision everything fall apart. For six years Lindsay has avoided Finn, she says she hates him. Their paths cross again when they both are in the weeding party for her brother. I had expected an instant reconnection but there is a lot they have to overcome first.
I loved Finn. He was struggling with an injury and his ability to play the level of hockey and i just wanted to give him a hug. Lindsay is a very strong and independent person. She is a little annoying at some points. I loved when she finally talked about things with Finn. It's a great second chance at love story.
A copy was received for review.
Lindsay has spent her life protecting her family from their parents. She found love and her future with Finn but he left her to follow his hockey career. Lindsay has never forgiven him or gotten over him. Finn doesn't understand her bitterness as he did what he felt was best for her and her brothers and sisters. Now that he is back, he wants nothing more than Lindsay back in his life. Can Lindsay left her walls down and give him a second chance?
Lindsay is broken and bitter as a result of Finn's actions and being constantly beaten down emotionally and physically by her parents She has a massive heart, putting her brothers and sisters before everything else but does everything possible to protect her heart from hurt.
Another great instalment from the Wilson family and it was great to catch up with Maggie, Luke and the amazing Ash. I loved the flow of this story and the characters hooked me in. Beautifully flawed and captivating.
Ohh where do I even start.
Finnley Jacobs stole my heart from the beginning I was rooting for him in all things. He has one of those personalities that just makes you want to squeeze his neck. Lindsay on the other hand, I was almost wanted to slap her and shake her a few times. She is a bull headed woman, but in the end she completely won me over as well.
All the family connections and strength in the Wilson family was heart warming. There is just enough drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. I was unable to put this book down. Definite 5 star book.
Taylor has proven time and again that she is a wordsmith. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
This is the second book in the For the Love series, which can be read as a standalone. It takes place after For the Love of Ash. I thought it was fantastic. This was Lindsey and Finn's story. Finn is Lindsey's brother's best friend. They have a past together from when they were in high school. Lindsey has avoided Finn like the plague since then because he broke her heart. Finn is back in town due to an injury and he's determined to spend time with Lindsey. No one has ever compared to her. Will she be able to forgive and move forward?
And yes, for anyone wondering, we do see more of the entire Wilson family, and Asher is even more adorable!
This is the second book in the For the Love series, For the Love of Ash, being the first.
Ms. Lavati knows just what we want and gives it to us with each book that she writes. This book, this was even better than the first in this series. Now, this is not a continuation.. in fact, it gives us background.. it tells us what happened before For the Love of Ash. Hold on for the roller coaster ride(s)! Plus, there are so many sub-stories within this book, opening up many possibilities!! I am looking forward to where Taylor will take us next! Until then, this book will hold onto me, I am sure.. <3
This is an easy read. You should read For The Love Of Ash before, to get a feel of the family dynamics. I was engrossed in this story, but felt it was a tad bit repetitive. Love the feels it gives you at points.
I'm glad you get to connect with the rest of the family.
Lindsey has known Finnley for years. They were a couple at age 16. Finn was a hockey maniac and was picked to play for his favourite team. At 18 years old he dumped Lindsey. She was devastated. Six years later her brother, Finns best friend, is getting married. This forces Lindsey and Finnley to be in the same place. Their feelings have never changed but Lindsey can't let go of the hurt.
Do they get to reconnect?
After reading For the Love of Ash, I was excited to hear that Taylor was writing Lindsay and Finn's story. As soon as I began reading this second chance novel, I was hooked. Another great job, Taylor.
There were times when I wanted to shake Lindsay for her actions, and then there were other times when I wanted to hug her. As for Finn, he is so genuine that I thought my heart was about to burst.
I can't wait to read what Ms. Lavati has planned next.
Taylor Lavati does it again! I was so into this book I felt like I was one of her characters! I got so mad because Linds wouldn't just take him back, but I'm glad she didn't. It gave us time to see how amazing Finn is! Taylor, why do you make all your men so amazing? Another beautifully written love story, with just the right amount of drama. love!
For the Love of Hockey is Lindsay and Finn's beautiful love story.
When you love someone with your whole heart. When that person destroys you. Can you come back from the brink to love that person again? And what if you never stopped?
I really enjoyed this book even though I wanted to choke Lindsey for her constant denial. There were several times I yelled "Awlll come on!!!" and did a few face palms. Other than the grammar and spelling issues it is a great book and well worth the read.
For The Love Of Hockey is a second chance at love story. How do you get over your first love? For Lindsay, you never do. No matter how hard you try or how much you hate him.... you never get over him.
Finn is Lindsay's brother's best friend and NHL star. He was and has always been in love with Lindsay. To his credit, he broke up with her all those years ago because he thought it was best for her. Finn wanted to give Lindsay a real life and not just falling him and his hockey career.
Thanks to a wedding for Lindsay's brother, the former coupe in now forced to spend a good deal of time with each other again. Lindsay has stayed away from Finn for years, but now spending time being civil towards one another, has made them see what they have been missing. Mix in a little alcohol and the two end up back in each other arms.
When Lindsay let's go of all her anger, she can see what has been in front of her and what she could have again.
