I’m Blue Barker. Submissive. Unattached wolf. Member of the Puppyville pack. I thought I had the mate-thing in the bag, until I found my ex screwing around. Usually, I’m against one-night-stands, until I saw the drop dead gorgeous dominant wolf sitting at the bar.
Jaime Topps has two conditions. One night. Two rules...and none of them involved remembering my name, but I’m going to prove him wrong.

This was surprisingly sweet! For a boning, I mean. Meet Blue Barker and Jaime Topps.
Blue comes home and discovers his boyfriend cheating. Feeling miserable he is dragged along to a bar with his two best friends, where he meets Jaime Topps. Guess what he prefers. Cue wolf attraction and some hot action (boning) follows. Some feelings mixed in made it real sweet. So no weird shit going on at all!
--------------------------- "Fucking perfect." (...) Jaime...he thinks I'm perfect. What can I possibly say to a man who says he likes my flaws, who like me just the way I am? He might be lying. It's so damn cheesy, but I love that Bridget Jones line. ---------------------------
The writing was so much better than #0.5 Full Moon Blues too.
This is the worst book title of the year (or the best one, depending on how you look at it). The editing is atrocious; the tense switches sometimes within the same sentence. The worldbuilding is nonexistent, seeing as it's 8K of PWP shifter romance/porn. The love interest is absurdly OTT. The main characters have Hilariously Meaningful Names... or maybe just Porn Names (the younger guy is called Blue *Barker* and the alpha growly guy Jaime *Topps*). The town (and the series) is called Puppyville. You couldn't pack the story tighter with tropes bordering on cliches even if you tried (and let me remind you again that it's only 8K). And yet... It might be my horrible taste, my love for tropes, or my soft spot for the shifter romance genre, but I ended up enjoying the story quite a lot and I'll buy the next ones as soon as they come out, especially if the future characters turn out to be as likeable as Blue, who had me in his corner the moment I saw him react to .
I have no shame - I bought this book on its name alone. (love the cover too!)
Just like the first one in the series, this really isn't a full book, it needed to be more fleshed out. I wanted it more fleshed out. I wanted the cheating ex to make trouble for the new couple. I wanted to she the new roomies more. I wanted more of it all.
There were some editing issues, but it didn't throw me out of my reading. The story telling worked for me.
Someone recommended this for the puppy play but disappointingly it has none in it. That’s ok, I quite like paranormal romances except that here the werewolves who don’t shift or do werewolf things on the page. So just viewing it for the romance, it’s a quick instalove one-night stand - my least favourite type. Still hurting from discovering his now ex-partner in the act of cheating, Blue finds comfort in the arms of a stranger named Jaime. During his night with Jaime, Blue constantly thinks about his ex and compares him to Jaime. That’s it … I’m officially underwhelmed. Audio narrator Derrick McClain is the best thing about this.
After reading the first short story in this series, I was excited to get the next story, but I didn't enjoy this one as much. The story's best part is the main character Blue. He was so nicely developed and such a likable protagonist.
The biggest problem here is that everything else in the story falls short for me. It just wasn't as well written for me as the first story. I just could not get caught up in this story even though I liked the protagonist. I think this one would have worked a whole lot better in a longer format.
Blue is a hopeless romantic kinda guy so eventhough his boyfriend, Jerome always critique him, said mean things to him, he still put up with him for 2 years. When he caught Jerome is cheating on him, he nurtured his broken heart in a bar then he met Jaime.
Jaime is different from Jerome, he like Blue just the way he is but is Jaime ready to take their relationship further? This book is only the beginning of their story.
Boning his Mutt is the first book in the Puppyville Pack by author Fel Fern. I really love the humor and romance in this book. I like that the characters are not perfect, they are more real to me that way. Blue he is a chubby, funny, guy who cannot cook to save his life. Has been in a relationship for the past two years. When he comes home and finds his lover with someone else he leaves him. His friends want to cheer him up, so they take him to a bar. Jaime is new to the Puppyville Pack. He was recently turned. But he has had his eye on a certain taken Omega for a while now. Blue has a hard time believing someone has sexy, smart, and bad boy as Jaime could like him. But Jaime will do everything in his power to change the man's mind. I love the start of Blue and Jaime's love story. We have a sassy Omega and a bad boy biker who if they let their guard down just might find love. When you want a quick, fun, and steamy read this is the one to pick up.
After Blue catches his bf, Jerome, cheating on him. He is talked into going out to have a one night stand by his best friend, Trig. While at the bar, Blue is picked up by Jaime who wants to have a wild night with Blue. Blue is pretty hard on himself and doesn't think he's anyone the hottie at the bar will keep so he agrees to the one hot night of passion which turns out to be all he could dream of.
It's a pretty short story and with all short stories suffers some issues. Overall, I really liked it for being my first read from this author. I would have liked to see more wooing and romance but this story hit some good spots for me so I don't have any real complaints.
EDIT. Feb 2 2019 Liked the audio reading quite a bit. It was clear and brought characters alive. Good pacing and emotional feel. Added on another star for it.
The blurb isn't quite accurate. Blue meets Jamie but Jamie is basically bypassing get to know and moving directly into possessive relationship.. in a good way. But this isn't the impression of a sure thing or exchange of mating bites.. but major potential.
I'd really like to see a proper book in Puppyville.
I received this audiobook for an honest review. I have to say I cannot fairly review this book. It is not the genre I usually read and not one I would have chosen had I been a little bit more thorough in reviewing the preview. Not my kind of enjoyable reading. I apologize for not being more discernible. I did not finish this book.
Better than expectations. I expected porny goodness. GOT IT, thank you. But it also had a nice set up. I would have kept reading if it had been longer. I might have to check out a few more of these. It's nice to have a short fun story, with a sprinkle of porn....especially after a nice dark read. ~~~~~~~ re-read Felt like a new read. Same reaction
