Each Dawn I Die contains ten thoroughly twisted tales from Mark Tullius. The setting of each tale varies from the next, yet the idea that permeates all of them is the author’s preoccupation with discovering evil in the ordinary. Read these tales and more... •A pornographer's horrific early morning ritual. • A beautiful baby boy who knows what he wants. • An engineer sees life on the other side of the tracks. • A drug run goes awry. • A young man who can't let go of the past.

My writing covers a wide range, with fiction being my favorite to create, with two dozen or so titles under my belt. There are 21 titles in my YA interactive Try Not to Die series and 30 more in the works. I also have two nonfiction titles, both inspired by a reckless lifestyle, playing Ivy League football, and battering the hell out of my brain as an unsuccessful MMA fighter and boxer. Unlocking the Cage is the largest sociological study of MMA fighters to date and TBI or CTE aims to spread awareness and hope to others that suffer with traumatic brain injury symptoms.

This was given to me for an honest review & is an audio version through Audible. Read very well by T. Quillan. I'm not much of a horror fan, but these 10 stories were pretty good. Possibly the best thing about them was how they ended. The author isn't one of those that likes to drag things out, but ends at the proper time while the arrow of the horror is still quivering in the mind. I didn't always guess the horror element or ending, either. That's a huge plus. Most horror is so predictable now, but not these.
Definitely an author & narrator to watch. I look forward to further books by them.
I really enjoyed these short stories, especially the last one.Of COURSE it's a SK book!lol Tee Quillen was a good narrator.I was provided this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
Thank you to the author for a complimentary copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Firstly, the narrator for this book was absolutely amazing. He managed to give a different atmosphere to each creepy story and a range of convincing character voices - I'll definitely be keeping my eye out (ear open?) for more of his work.
The stories in this book were varied in subject, some of them definitely taking inspiration from other popular authors such as Stephen King but each one had its own distinct twist to set it apart. My favourite of all the stories (shame on me for not remembering its name!) involved a mother and her young baby boy - I can't begin to describe how much that one creeped me out.
Each story is sinister, if not downright scary and finish with a subtle cliffhanger ending, leaving you to imagine further horrors. That part was a particularly good trick as I'm not a fan of being spoon fed my scares!
I would absolutely recommend this collection of short stories, each one being a perfect length for a commute or a night time jog.....
This is the second book I've read/listened to by Mark Tullius, and I have to say that I am really enjoying his work. This is a book of short stories that are all different, yet all dark and twisted. Some of the stories, I thought, could have been expanded a bit, but that didn't detract from its readability or quality. I listened to the Audible audio version narrated by Tee Quillin (again, second time listening to him), and I really like his narrations. He has such a range in his voice and gives each character such a unique voice. He is another narrator that has made it to my "favorites" list, and I will keep my eye open for more from him. Overall, if you like short stories, horror, and all manner of dark and twisted things, I think this would be a good book for you.
A great collection of 10 dark, twisted and disturbing tales that could easily give Steven King a run for his money. The stories in this audiobook are all different but have a common thread of horror occurring in everyday life. From a grand mothers revenge, to an old friend who ends up being the monster under the bed, the stories are inventive and will give you chills but you still won't be able to stop listening. The narrator does a great job with this book, he gives individual personalities to each character and manages to covey the tension and emotions in the book very well. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have heard more. I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review
I used this collection of short stories as one of my first introductions to audio books during my grueling drives. I wasn't dissapointed. The author has talent in keeping the reader enthralled, and the stories each have unique twists that add to the experience. There were times when I felt that the reactions or actions didn't follow the character's personality, but this was rare. I will also note that the voice actor was entertaining, and clear.
This book is the perfect definition of what horror stories should be, not all those cliche stories that you can predict the ending. I love how the author carries his story with a little less suspense, it gets the story to the place it should be. It’s beautiful and I’d recommend for people that prefer to read short stories.
