When I was hand-selected by billionaire director Nicolas Costa to be his surrogate, it all seemed so easy. But the next thing I knew, I fled LA, hoping he would never find me.
I didn’t know how wrong I was...
“Come in Mr. Costa.” I kept my voice cool and polite, hoping if I projected that image, I would actually begin to feel it.
It was time I stopped running away from the facts—no matter how much I disliked them. The truth was, I was pregnant with this man’s baby and I had signed some legal documents saying that I would give him the baby when it came. It had seemed the right thing to do at the time, and I even collected a partial payment. God, that really does sound bad, like I sold the baby in my womb.
But it was nothing like that. I was merely a carrier, a human incubator. But that didn’t stop me from feeling like I was this baby’s mother in every sense that mattered. And that was the crux of my problem. I loved it with a fierceness that amazed me. And I didn’t care what this huge ultra sexy hulk of a man will do.
He would have to go over my dead body to get to the baby...
NOTE: This is the first book of a three part serial and it ends with a cliffhanger. Parts 2 and 3 will be released soon.
She signed a contract to be a surrogate. To bear their child for them. But as fate had it, the mother died. Her mother died and she was all alone. She packed up and left. But the father was not giving up his child. He hunted her down and bought her back. Chemistry broke out between them. Reality faded until he threaten to take her baby away. Now she had to abide by his rules.
His: A Billionaire Romance is the first part of a three book romance that honestly feels too predictable in relation to other romantic literature that has been released before. While I give the author Glenna Sinclair credit for trying to create an original story over the course of 68 pages, there are hardly any surprises to keep the reader going. The story would follow Ana Martinez, a kindergarten teacher who agrees to be a surrogate for the ‘billionaire’ director Nicolas Costas and his wife Aurora in order to pay for her mother’s chemotherapy. Though after a series of unfortunate events including the death of Aurora, Ana is confronted in her apartment by Nicolas. As she is bound by a legal contract, she reluctantly agrees to return to Los Angeles with him and give birth there. While the story does show some variation by having the characters dealing with pregnancy rather than the initial meeting and what follows after, the story was lackluster and I had a difficult time actually being interested in what happens to the characters. I will admit though that I was moderately surprised at two or three moments in the story, but it is hardly enough to keep the reader invested, even with what happens in the end. Speaking of the characters, it is almost sad to say that they were almost cookie cutter from every other romance novel with nothing interesting to offer. Ana is the stereotypical young woman who is naïve and feels that she can do no wrong, loves children, and wants to be a good mother. She is this micro-novel’s equivalent of a Mary Sue or Marianismo, who is an over idealized and one dimensional character that celebrates virtues such as morality and purity. I mean, I want a romance novelist to write a female character that isn’t afraid to throw a punch or curse someone out, not reluctantly agree to whatever the man says. Nicolas Costas, the ‘billionaire director’ is not any better either. From the moment he is first mentioned in the book, the reader immediately thinks ‘broody and bipolar millionaire/billionaire who has a troubled past but has redeeming features’. I dare you to read a few pages that mention Nicolas and not say “This is clearly Christian Grey from the Fifty Shades series”. This is an annoying trend in romantic novels that needs to honestly stop, not every person with wealth is like this. The other characters such as Aurora and Kelly are honestly forgettable despite how Ana describes them in the book. In this micro-novel, there are two sex scenes which honestly could have been seen pages ahead of time, once when they are in Ana’s apartment and later in Nicolas’s mansion. While these scenes are moderately sensual, they are reliant on Ana’s lack of experience and increased desires for sex due to pregnancy. Again, these scenes are cookie cutter from every other romance novel that has been released in the past twenty years. To Glenna Sinclair’s credit, she does try to take an unconventional route by focusing on a surrogate mother in this story, but she needs to focus on creating more fleshed out characters that the readers would actually care about at the end of the story. While I would suggest this to someone who wants a quick read, I would not tell them that it is a spectacular read.
Ana is pregnant with Nicolas baby. She is a surrogate to Nicolas and aurora. Nicolas is a billionaire and aurora is an actress. She agreed to have their baby because she needed the money for her moms treatment. But once she did the implantation. Her mom died and then aurora overdoses ten days later. So she ran away. She didn't think Nicolas would want the bag after everything which is why she took off. Nicolas demanded she come back to la with him and she did. They have this crazy attraction. They've been sleeping with each other. She also finds out she is having twins. She is so scared because she wants to keep these babies but knows she can't cause she signed a contract. At the end police arrive at Nicolas place and arrests for first degree murder. I'm guessing it has to do with auroras death.

This was an interesting story. Throughout the novel it felt like it was setting things up for something big, something that appears to come in a later novel. Sinclair does a great job setting up the story and building the suspense. I am interested to see where she takes the story/characters. I enjoyed Ana; she was a caring loving character while Nicolas was harder to read not only for Ana, but readers as well. Sinclair keeps him a complete mystery which I have to say I enjoyed. It keeps the reader going, wanting to discover more about him. The idea that Ana was the surrogate for Nicolas and his wife adds to the story. Rather than two people meeting by chance, there is a little more..hmm..scandal to the story. I am interested to see where the story progresses in the next parts.
Okay so I read the series in one go and I didn't realize it was in different parts
Overall, the drama was surrounding around accusations of Nicolas killing his wife by slipping drugs in her drinks. Our heroine and the surrogate to Nicolas and his late wife's children, Ana, is battling her feelings towards him. They both have a very strong attraction to each other. And the complexities of both characters keep you interested. One minute Nicolas is hot and the next he's cold as ice.
One problem I have with this series is that Nicolas clearly has anger management issues and he's quite violet even towards Ana. It's abuse at times. Strong warning to readers.
This is the first time I have read anything by this author. The book captivated me from the very first chapter and held on to me till the very last word. Though however at times I found the book to repeat a bit but that was ok for me for clarification purposes.
When one door closes another shall open but when ones heart closes with a snap could it actually be the opening one needs to have their heart free to be complete?
This book had me from the beginning I really like how the characters have love hate relationship. Ana finds out she is carrying two babies instead of one and Ana has to deal with her mother dieing with lung cancer.. Nico is being at total butt by demanding her to go to LA with him. His wife died not to long after Ana's mom and he tells Ana that she really did not want the baby he did. He makes her cry because he tells her she must stand up to her contract as a surrogate that she signed. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Oh Ana... did you realise what you were getting into. Nicolas Costa is quite a strong minded man but as they say, needs must. Ana is such a loving..caring woman to do this. Carry someone else's baby. The question is, whether or not she can give him or her up. The surprising thing is that they are attracted to each other....ooooohhhh.
Oh WOW this book was intense, with Nicholas Costa wanting a baby and the one person he chose, was giving him a hard time because basically he just wanted a baby to show off...not everyone deserves kids...Billionaires as in Nicholas Costa...I don't know...hopefully there will be a book 2 from this wonderful author to find out....
I WAS KINDA SURPRISED THAT I FOUND MYSELF REALLY LIKING THIS. IT IS A (3) PART SERIES AND PREDICTABLE AND A LITTLE REPETATIVE BUT VERY ENJOYABLE. IT SHOWED SOME PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING TO HAVE A CHILD. ;D HIS II 6/1 4*stars HIS III 6/1 4*stars
A very interesting storyline. Definitely something a little different from the norm. Definitely worth you time to read. I've already gone and gotten the second one.
Nicolas and Ana have a very strange relationship. With her carrying his and his deceased wife's baby and her heart in a tangle over him. Where will it lead.
I am so mad right now. Why is it always the spouse they blame first? Hard enough to deal with a wife that ODed without law enforcement adding stress. Guess I better read on.
