Amy Howard, owner of the Amy Howard at Home lifestyle line, has continually refined her affinities for timeless artisanship her entire life. At the beginning of 1991, Amy and Gene Howard launched their luxury furniture business, Amy Howard Collection. With their one-of-a-kind refinished vintage rescues and handmade couture furnishings, the Amy Howard name was set apart as an authority in interior design. Come 2012, after three decades of making luxurious home furnishings, Amy and Gene utilized their curated expertise to create a fully encompassed line of professional grade artisan products. The mission to rescue, restore and redecorate has since brought hope to like-minded creatives by teaching the weekend hobbyist how to become a self-supporting business owner. Her experience as a successful entrepreneur and her willingness to share her lifetime of knowledge, has brought her career to an inspiring crescendo. Today, Amy Howard is partnering with the artisan community on a journey to craft a beautiful life and build a legacy.

The last thing that someone might call me is creative or artistic. OK, maybe in the kitchen with my cooking and baking. But otherwise, not so much. And the book has a front page photo of hands around what I believed was a ball of dough! So, there!

From that front page, however, the book really reaches out to those who are not only innovative, but also inspired. And helps them becomes more inspired in multiple ways! The reader will want to make his or her dreams come true. Unique, down to earth suggestions, and yet, beautiful pages that make you want to dream even more. Yes, that is true inspiration.

I was a lucky winner of this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

With glossy full-color, full-bleed pages and high-quality photographs, A Maker's Guide looks beautiful. Unfortunately, the content doesn't live up to the packaging.

Filled with cringe-worthy punctuation errors, oversimplification of concepts like branding and investing, and odd little questionnaires that mostly serve to fill up space, the book is general, unhelpful, and poorly written. It would have been much more successful as a coffee table book filled with inspirational quotes and photos about creativity and entrepreneurship.

(I received this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway.)

I won A Maker's Guide from GoodReads for a honest review. The picture are beautifully taken. That's as much as I enjoyed about this book. I didn't find any of the info helpful.
