The second novel in the series is just as awesome as the first. They actually feel like one book, together with the third installment, they don't really stand on their own.
I loved Vic and Dan, their charakters are very realistic and although there certainly is character development, it is (haleluja!) DEVELOPMENT, and not a sudden change of attitude. Their fights and their making up feel realistic and make sense.
It's undeniable how much they love each other, though. Phantastic writing skills, in my opinion.
I'd like to add that the impression I had reading the first installment is still as strong:
Rachel Reid should at least have given V. L. Locey a shout out in Heated Rivalry for having given her a blueprint for Heated Rivalry. The MCs Ilya and Shane are near copies of Vic and Dan. (This series was written in 2015 and Heated Rivalry in 2018).
I won't list all the similarities again, because I already did so in my last review.
Now I'm curious how Vic and Dan's story will continue/finish in the third installment.

Victor is still an absolute cunt, but I really like him! He's totally unapologetic for being himself and I like how he's staying true to himself and not changed the second he falls in love - most 'bad boy' characters mellow out as soon as they couple up and then they aren't as interesting to me 😂
I can't say this is the greatest series writing wise, but it's really entertaining me and I like how Vic has zero filter and just feels like a real, flawed person. Even Dan grew on me in this one! I would have really liked Dan's POV though.

This second of three "Point Shot" novellas doesn't stand alone and the ending is tentative - but it is a wonderful middle piece to the trilogy. Read the first one, meet bisexual hockey player Victor Kalinski and his (current) teammate and boyfriend, Dan Arou. Find out just how much trouble Vic's mouth, his topflight hockey skills and damaged self-image, and the stress of being closeted, get him into. See how much he's willing to try to bend and learn, to keep Dan in his life. And how bad he is at it.
Then come here for the next part. Vic was gutted by the realities of pro hockey, and his own shortcomings, toward the end of the previous book. His dysfunctional coping strategy involved booze and a broad, and although all seemed to end well at the time, the consequences of that are coming home to roost. Dan's a great guy, but he's deeply hurt by Vic's asshattery, and not even ready to try to be understanding. And Vic's childhood as at the hands of his drunken mother, has left him lightyears away from being ready for the next step in his growing up, when the paternity suit paperwork lands in his hand.
Both men are deeper here, more thoughtful, more flawed and yet stronger. There is still plenty of humor over the way Vic's lack of forethought, his temper, and low self-worth get him into trouble. But I was becoming very fond of both men by this point, so there are also moments of heart-felt pain, watching them try to find their way forward. The end is a bit cliff-hangery. Luckily the last novella is already out and waiting to finish the series.

Even with some pretty valid reasons, Vic's ability to be an utter douche is more than I can stand. The misogyny is on almost every page.

OH man, how in the world did I forget the complete douche move that Vic does at the end of Two Man Advantage? I guess because it ticked me off so much. Well, here we have the big reminder of that douchebaggy move, when the puck bunny he cheated with comes back with a paternity suit. You really do have to read this series in order because I feel this book is very dependent on the actions of the first.
In true Vic fashion, he acts like a jerk to both Heather, the baby mama, and to Dan, his lover. I questioned in my review of Two Man Advantage – what happened about the cheating? Did Vic come clean and tell Dan? How did Dan react? Well, here we find out that the coward didn’t tell Dan at all. I wanted to slap him. There are times it is really difficult to even care about Vic, let alone like him. “You throw me out without even giving me a chance to explain?” Explain what, Vic? That you cheated, never told him and not only that, but believe it was okay because it was “…just a chick”? To me, that said loud and clear that you’d do it again. I felt so much pain for Dan that by then I hoped he would leave Vic and stay away.
It takes a conversation with a drunken teammate, one that Vic never even got along with, to make his stupid eyes open to what he’s done and what he’s doing to Dan. Even then, when he interrupts a conversation with Dan and Brooks I wanted to shout at him. Vic causes some big emotions, most of them angry! It is only after Vic starts to realize the pain he’s causing this man who he loves that he starts to take a long look at himself and that’s when it starts to get better. He tells Dan how sweet he is. “Too sweet to be hooked up with a raving butt plug like me.” Finally, you get it, Vic.
I liked that there was no instant forgiveness and that Heather, baby mama, wasn’t vilified. Despite Vic’s best efforts to believe otherwise, she wasn’t some slutty puck bunny after his money and that was appreciated.
Just a warning, very similar to the first book, this one ends with a cliffhanger. Yes, we have our HFN with Vic and Dan but Heather, Phil and the homophobic tweets are left wide open. Be aware. The humor is here, despite a serious undertone with the ramifications of cheating, and Vic is still an abrasive, foul mouthed hockey player.

Victor Kalinski and Dan Arou are back in this sequel from Two Man Advantage. Game Misconduct by V. L. Locey is an amazing book I could not put down.
I said it in my Two Man Advantage review, and I am going to say it again. I love Vic! I am fairly certain I would hate him in real life. Or maybe not, because there really aren’t that many people I don’t like. His sarcasm is unparalleled. The things that come out of his mouth crack me up or make me shake my head. The guy seriously has no filter, not to mention a creative mind. He is probably one of the best developed characters I have ever read about. He has grown tremendously and is a little less snarky, okay usually, that is just around Dan.
Speaking of Dan, pretty sure he is up for sainthood: Saint Dan of the Shire. He is about the only person that could handle Vic. Although I am not certain handle is the right word. Dan is a great guy. He brings love and balance into Vic’s life. Dan is greatly tested in the book.
I find it amusing that Vic always refers to Dan as Frodo, a Hobbit, or being smaller than Dobbey the house elf. The fact that he even knows the Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter characters brought him up a notch in my book. Those are two of my favorite fantasy series.
The plot was surprising. I think I have a bruise on the bottom of my jaw from when my mouth hit the floor. Many realistic and serious issues develop in this novella. Game Misconduct was a remarkable narrative. I really cannot wait to hear their next story. Dan and Vic are two people I would not want to tick off.
I highly suggest reading Two Man Advantage prior to Game Misconduct. If you are offended by foul language and graphic m/m sex scenes, be warned, although Vic is bi, as he likes to remind everyone. If you love sarcasms, hockey, and laughing this book is for you.

This was a great continuation of Vic and Dan's story. Still hidden in the closet, Dan and Vic have spent their summer together, lazing around the house, cuddling, having sex and attending some boring charity events. Life is going along pretty smoothly, until a summons throws a huge hurtle in their path.
I started reading and not far into it, I sent my co-blogger, Mari a message. She had already read the book for another of our sites we host tours for. Our message is below, I have taken some things out, because it would give too much away, but here is part of it.

YOU said Game Misconduct was funny!!

nah, I said I found Vic to be sarcastic and self-deprecating and I found him fun. The story is not fun.

NO!!! Wtf!

aaah, well, I can promise you it gets better. Vic has a lot of growing up to do.
So I grudgingly read on.
She was right. Vic had a lot of growing up to do. She is also right about the type of character Vic is, although I already knew this from book one. He is a snarky smart@$$. He is what I think of when I think of the type of characters I want to read about. He isn't all soft and sweet. He is a manly man. He can be gross and well, a man. Yet he knows when to be that sweet and loving guy.
I love V.L.'s characters. She writes her characters so well. She writes her characters like a man. I don't want to read a book where I feel like one of the characters is a female, and I definitely don't get that with this author.
This book, while not always fun, and sometimes downright heartbreaking, was funny at times. It was sweet at times and it even had a couple of hot scenes thrown in.
The story flowed well, and of course the chemistry between Vic and Dan is still has electrical as ever! I loved this story, and I can't wait for the continuation of Vic and Dan's story.

Let me start by saying this is book 2 in a series and it can't be read as a standalone, and really, book 1 is very good so you're missing out if you haven't read that one yet.
We meet Vic and Dan again a few months after book 1 ends, they are living together and they are both playing for the Cayuga Cougars. Life is good, until a little event from book 1 comes back to bite Vic on his very pale ass and that puts a damper on his relationship with Dan. That's not all that's against them, though, other things come into play that will test their love for each other.
I absolutely adored Vic, yes, he's sarcastic, arrogant and has no filter, perhaps that's why I loved him so much. He was very real. And where Dan was concerned he just transformed. It was nice to see him evolve into someone more mature as the series progresses.
I also loved that we got to see more of Dan and Vic as a couple, they are really good together, the sex scenes are quite hot and so I'm looking forward to seeing them both work on their issues toward a common goal in the next installment (because there has to be another one, right? *begs*).
Anyway, this was a really great read, fun, fast-paced with amazing characters and an intriguing storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Nevermind that I love a sports story where we actually get to read the MC's actually playing the sport, and explained in a way that you can practically see the action playing out right in front of your eyes!

Game Misconduct continues where Two Man Advantage left off. Victor got stupid one night after Dan left for the NHL and, as we know, mistakes always come back and bite us in the backside when we least expect it. Things with Dan are great, Victor has become more of a team player, and has even helped the team with his knowledge and advice, but that one, drunk, forgotten night has now resurfaced and is threatening to destroy everything Victor has come to love and rely on. We see more of the loving, vulnerable side of Victor and my heart broke for him. One of my favorite lines in the book showing his need and vulnerability is when Victor says to Dan…. “Because you’re the only person who ever loved me and if you don’t come back to me I’m pretty much over.” The tears were flowing with this.
Even with the heartbreaking emotions we still get the great sarcastic humor I love intermixed throughout the book… There it was. A word. Try linking a few more together, Victor, you moronic twatwaffle. I love Victor’s internal thoughts!
So much happens in this book and all the twist and turns flow perfectly together. I have fallen in love with this group of characters just as much as I did with the Wildcat series, and I am looking forward to see where this goes and what happens next with Phil, the baby, all of them!

This is book 2 that continues after Two Man Advantage and let me tell you, it was a great continuation of the story. This took off where book 1 ended. This can not be read as a stand alone, and must be read in order. This is a M/M romance.
Vic is still his snarky, smartass self and Dan is his lovable better half. Sparks continue to fly between these two and keeps us guessing through the story. Again, like book one this does not have a true HEA but does end on a happy note.
I didn't have as many lol moments but I did have quite a few chuckles along the way. I love Vic's snarkiness and how he is quick witted. I was so glad to see things work back out for Vic and Dan but I hope now all will be better for them too. As for Vic's lil surprise, I have to be honest and I hope it doesn't turn out to be real but I have a feeling I'm wrong. Want to know what I am talking about? Then go buy this book! :) Even better, go buy both of them!

Welcome back to the exciting world of Hockey. The venomous Pole (VIC) and the Wolverine (Dan) are back and things are getting dicey. After 9 months everything is falling into place for the hockey duo but Karma is a bitch and she comes knocking at Vic's door. Things will never be the same but maybe they will be better. I absolutely love Vic and Dan. Both characters are easy to relate to and this is a great storyline. The topics of this storyline are realistic and serious. Ms. Locey handles them with humor, snark, teamwork and support from some unlikely sources. We get to see so much more about the individual couple in this tale and get a better feel for the depth of their relationship. It was brutal to watch Vic evaluate his life, mistakes and see the changes he needed to make to become the person he wanted to be. He did a lot of soul searching and grew immensely in this storyline getting a glimpse of what Dan sees and loves about him. For a short story there is a lot of information, drama and love provided in a quick easy to read format. Unfortunately we are forced to end in a cliffhanger, however that means we will see this duo again and I for one am happy for that. IF you are a fan of hockey, m/m and quick wit this is a great addition to your library.

I'm going to start my review with some general disclaimers, Game Misconduct is a follow up to Two Man Advantage and cannot be read as standalone. Both books are M/M and contain tons on sexy man on man action.
There's so much good in this book, I love Dan, he's true and steady and knows what he wants, even if he hasn't shouted it to the world yet. Vic is just as ornery as ever, sarcastic and full of piss and vinegar. Dan and Vic are the epitome of opposites attract, both in looks and attitudes.
I love how this book delves into the one issue I had with Two Man Advantage, Vic cheating on Dan. When I finished book 1, I felt like there were unresolved issues, and of course finishing Game Misconduct, I feel like there are still unresolved issues!
I'm hopeful that there is a book 3 on the way that will wrap up Dan and Vic's relationship with a pretty bow, because while I can take or leave Vic, I so desperately want a HEA for Dan.
Overall, another great read from V.L. Locey!

Soooo glad there's a sequel to Two Man Advantage!! I enjoyed reading about how Dan was able to start dulling the "venomous Pole's" edges in the first book but this sequel had the first book beat hands down!
Vic is still a royal douche canoe, but you come to discover that he really does have a heart under that tough exterior. Both Dan and Vic's characters are true to the first book, but Vic grows so much. By the end of this story the reader really knows what Dan sees in him.
The supporting characters drive the story forward. We get to know Heather, the not quite so much a puck bunny, and how she fits in to the scheme of things. Again the members of the team play a big part in the story as well. The morning after the storm scene with Buttonwood was all heart and I LOVED it.
I could read about Dan and Vic for another ten books!

I could read about Dan and Vic for another ten books!

Though Victor is not your typical main character, he is arrogant and sarcastic I absolutely love him. In Game Misconduct, he shows another side of himself, and I grew to love him even more. Then there is Dan, his polar opposite. Dan could be a saint or angel he is such a likable, person. The chemistry between the two is unparalleled! You couldn't ask for a better match than these two men. The sex is smokin hot as well so beware there is explicit sexual content and very strong language.
The story is fast-paced, and the plot has several twists and turns. I felt the story also has a very realistic feel and touches on many real life topics such as the difference between gay and bisexuality, coming out, and pregnancy before marriage. I cannot wait for the next book.

5 stars. I love this series. OK, so there's no hockey in this one, but the dynamics between Vic and his sexy, little 'hobbit' Daniel are superb, and the secondary storyline has ensured that there is hot, angry tension between our two lovers. I hate bigotry, and the fact that the one real bigot on the Cayuga Cougars team got his face bashed in and then took his revenge by outting Vic and Dan to the press has only served to ramp things up further. Book 3 Full Strength is up next. #teamvicdanalltheway

I was really excited that Vic and Dan got another book. This one there’s a lot of turbulence for the hockey couple. So much happens in this book. Life changing things and it was really great to read their next steps. I felt that we got deeper into Vic’s head. He’s got so much going on up there so many issues. And all that happens to him and Dan forces him to realize change is going to happen whether you’re ready or not. Best to get ready and get help. Of course the cliffy at the end had me sputtering and grasping for my sanity, BUT…. It insures that we will see more of these dirty mouthed, hopelessly in love, hockey studs again!!!

Vic is an unrepentant blow-hard who is terrified to realize he has an inner chick struggling to come alive. Dan, despite being in love with Vic, who really has no filter whatsoever, is a tender-hearted man everyone gets along with. Although he and Vic do a pretty good job of evening each other out, it would take a saint to put up with Vic for very long. There is plenty of sweat, sex, and swearing, but what really makes this work is that tender little spot inside Vic he will vehemently deny to his last breath.

Sorry, this serial did not work for me. Vic wasn't redeemable in my opinion and I DNF the second installment. Bisexual Vic cheated on his gay boyfriend Dan with a puck bunny who got pregnant. But Vic didn't consider it cheating because it was a woman, not a man. Since he didn't tell Dan, Vic believed that he didn't actually lie. He didn't tell Dan because it was a woman and, in his mind, too insignificant. The fact that Vic had unprotected sex outside a committed relationship was glossed over. Vic was quite a hilarious character, but I couldn't get past his interpretation of fidelity and loyalty.

Shock horror - Vic is maturing! Though slowly and his potty mouth and no filter brain are still in evidence.
Dan's flounces off after Vic gets a reality check and so Vic has to learn some life lessons all on his own.
This is much more about Vic, though the make up sex is hot and heavy!
Vic is more likeable this time round - or I am used to him now from last time.
Anyway, enjoyed this quick romp 3.75*

this is book 2 in the Point Shot Trilogy
Victor and Dan have fallen in love but have yet to tell anyone.
One bad decision on Victor's part from a few months ago comes back to haunt him and Dan packs up and leaves for the summer back to Manitoba.
Can Victor fix his relationship? Will they come out to their teammates?
Can't wait to read Book 3 and see where everything ends up

This is another HFN ending. So much has been left open. I think Dan and Vic are left in a better place now but what's happening with Heather and the baby??? Is there another book is what I want to know.

Holy Crap! This one was way way better than the first book, so many good feels and lots of good hockey! I honestly did not think that the author would be able to make me like Heather, but damn it she did, and I even feel for her and think she is funny! I love this series, bring on book three.
