Rowan Hunter is a best selling author of crime stories and Laurel Asher is a world renowned jazz artist who goes by the name Sapphire Woods.
Rowan has terrible writer's block, he's just staring at his computer watching the blinking cursor, his editor is looking for the first draft to send off to the editor, Rowan needs something needs to give but he doesn't know what. His mentor calls and knows something is off, so he sends him off to his house in Martha's Vineyard to get revived and get his muse back to start writing.
Laurel Asher is tired, stressed and disillusioned with singing world. Laurel knows she can't keep going, so she head to her uncle's place in Martha's Vineyard to unplug from the celebrity world and get herself together. She picks up her dog Coltrane, he is a Mastiff and heads to the house only to be confronted by a stranger who is there before her, out comes her gun, Coltrane's deadly growl and a bewildered Rowan trying to figure out what is going on.
Laurel and Rowan both discover that they will be staying in the house because they both need to recharge. It is during the renewal that they both discover and wonder was it fate that bought them together under different circumstances or are they just two ships that are passing in the night and will soon return to their own separate lives once they leave Martha's Vineyard.
A beautiful love story about two people finding each other in the same place, getting to know one another and discovering that although their professions are different, they have more in common than they both realize.
I have read several books by author Te Russ and I can say I have never been disappointed, she has truly become another favorite author of mine.
If you're looking for a cute, love story that leaves u feeling happy, this is for you! It's the love story of Rowan & Laurel. First, I love how the author doesn't do that thing where they try to deny their attraction to each other at first, they simply meet, love what they see & actually go for it! No wasting time!!! It's a typical cute love story where they have some bumps on the way but love overcomes & all the characters are so lovable except for the one bad guy ofc the nosy, rude, reporter, Desiree! (I think that's her name, I'm sorry I'm writing this review a couple weeks later!) Anyways it was just really cute & I would definitely recommend it!
2.5 ⭐ I did not find it realistic at all that jazz singer would be so worried about her identity. Like seriously... they have dedicated fan bases, but I don't think they have to worry about paparazzi too often. It was equally unrealistic to me that an author would be so well known too that he's getting stop at every outing he takes. That being said, I am happy to know Laurel and Rowan's origin story.

This was a beautiful love story about two people who needed to get away from the hustle and bustle in order to be able to breath and be themselves What started out as a not so present meeting ended in a beautiful love story. I smiled and even enjoyed the fact that a few characters from the McAllister family series made a brief appearance Great quick read
Alright, I see you Ms. Te. I am a lover of nostalgia: boy meets girl - boy and girl fall in love - boy and girl get married and begin their walk in FOREVERMORE! I love it! Keep doing ya thang Ms. Te!
Autumn Kisses is book three in the Four Seasons of Love series from Author Te Russ. The previous titles-- all stand alone novels-- were A Spring Affair and Sultry Southern Nights. I'm really enjoying this series of short but sweet love stories from Te, not only because it guarantees that I get four new books from her this year (wink wink) but because it also guarantees that I get a lovely story that is void of unnecessary drama and a storyline that doesn't drag.
This story is also close to my heart because the hero, Rowan, is a writer, deep in the throes of writer's block. I know the feeling and fortunately he has an editor with a kind heart and a home on Martha's Vineyard. UNfortunately, his editor's niece, Laurel "Sapphire Woods" Asher has access to the house and decides to schedule a little get away while Rowan is there.
The two decide to share the house and the attraction between them is immediate and electric. While Laurel enjoys a break from her very public life as a jazz singer, Rowan has begun writing again, citing his new roomie as his muse.
Here's where things always get a little iffy for this reader. This is a romance, so of course the two fall in love....... just uber quickly and within a month's time. Before the season is over there is major movement in the relationship and ... well. I have a really hard time with insta love. In this case, the fall is very romantic and sweet. I didn't *hate* reading it but it did drag the stars down for me, just a tad.
An underlying story in this novel is the issue of Laurel's privacy and the 'wanna be a star' talk show host who's digging into her past, set to expose Laurel- or Sapphire-- to the world. This plot line is a real page turner and I thought the outcome was FABULOUS and most appropriate. It actually kind of made me laugh.
Autumn Kisses is just the kind of short-yet- delightful read that I have come to expect from Te Russ. On to the next one! Winter Rendezvous is coming in December!
When writer’s block strikes, Rowan Hunter accepts an offer to go to his agent’s house on Martha’s Vineyard. Returning from an evening run, he is confronted in the kitchen by an attractive woman. Too bad she’s aiming a gun at him and is accompanied by a large dog.
Laurel Asher wants to be herself. She’s tired of playing the part of a popular jazz vocalist with a stage name. She convinces her manager to let her return to her roots on Martha’s Vineyard for a time to re-charge her creativity. But who? No why is this charming writer in residence.
This lovely little story, the third in the Four Seasons of Love series takes the reader on a quick jaunt through a modern courtship. Every day, every week solidifies their feelings for each other. While you may guess the ending early, the journey to the happy-ever-after includes bumps in the path.
Autumn is my favorite time of year so I didn’t think I could go wrong with a sweet autumn romance!
The story was well-written and romantic. Without giving the plot away, it was refreshing for me to read a love story where there wasn’t some contrived obstacle to keep the couple apart. We get to sit back and enjoy their meeting and falling in love. It was definitely a feel good story.
There were some hot love scenes but they were not overly explicit, for any readers who might not like that sort of thing.
Té Russ is a new author for me, and she did not disappoint. I would definitely read another book of hers. :)
As I've thought many times before, as good as the story may be, it loses its luster because of sloppy
luster due to sloppy editing, grammatical mistakes, and lack of subject/verb agreement.
The story was actually somewhat interesting and the characters mostly believable, but I would have given it another star but for what was noted at the beginning of this review.
Come on people, if you're going to take the time to write a decent romance novel, give a better end product where it doesn't require editing while reading. That's just rude!
Autumn Kisses continues the four seasons theme. For this season, Laurel Asher, a renowned Jazz Singer was sent to take a break from performing to Martha's Vineyard. Her uncle unknowingly sent one of his writers to the same house to recoup and cure his writer's block. Famous author Rowan Hunter's editor was Laurel Asher's uncle. Unbeknownst to him, he was sending the couple to their final destination.. Love and HEA. A good read!
There are no such things as coincidences in life and love. Two people very much in the public eye needed a break from all the pressures of their worlds. Same town, same timeframe, same cabin, sparks fly! Easy and enjoyable read. Characters quite honestly were made for each other!!
Laurel and Rowan's first meeting drew me into their story and held my attention throughout. Laurel & Rowan's story was a nice autumn romance. They knew they wanted each other & the romance progressed nicely.
Good book! Enjoyed this one as well. Rowan and Laurel were a cute couple. What can I say, just like the first two books in this series, short, simple and sweet love story. On to the next one!
Despite how they met, Rowan and Laurel were instantly attracted to each other. Their chemistry flourished and eventually developed into love. Even in a short period of time, they relied on each other and supported one another fully. This book had good characters with a good story line.
