There are rules to being a soul seductor.
Take more than you give.
Aim for purity.
Seduce and vacate.
Do not fail.
And most importantly, do not fall in love.

No one knows what happens when you break them because no one’s ever tried.

HAWKE

I love my life. Hate the hand I’ve been dealt but love the power I hold. Unfortunately power comes with a price. The only family we know are the ones who are just like us - the men who backed away from the light and answered to the devil’s calling.

I’m different from most. I wasn’t given a choice. Someone else chose for me. Still, it’s the only hand I have - the only cards I can lay on the table. I’m content with being great; content with having a past that’s worse than my future.

Everything was okay. Everything was just fucking fine. But then Zorn had to disappear and fuck all that up. I don’t have a past that consumes me. I know no life better than the one I live now. He did. He chased it. Now, I’m chasing him. And in the process, I’m breaking every damn rule a soul seductor abides by including falling for her.

LORELEI

My sister’s a nut job. My dad’s two shades away from dead. And then there’s me. Retired normal person, aspiring criminal.
I’m doing what criminals do- running for my life. Except it’s not the law I’m running from. I messed with the wrong guy, bought a debt I couldn’t repay. He won’t stop until he finds me and I won’t stop running until I get caught.

You’d think that would be enough to make me want to back into a safe corner. No! My dad’s on his deathbed and it’ll take a great deal of money to buy him a decent life. So I run from one criminal into the arms of another.

In one night, I’ve had a gun pointed at my head, stolen two cars, watched a man have brains blown over a poker table and to top it all off, I kissed a psychopath. Now the psycho wants more. He won’t stop until he gets more and I’m at the opposite end of the spectrum. But there’s one huge problem: the ‘more’ he’s looking for isn’t a ‘more’ I have to give.

3.5 SOUL STARS

This book reeled me in real quick. I really enjoyed the pace at which it started...

the unanswered questions and the fact that the heroine, Lorelei, didn't succumb to the sexy yet man whore soul seductor, Hawke were all pluses in my book.

 photo image.jpg1_zpsjnifm25k.jpg

Lorelei's on the run, from what and why we have no clue. As she stands surreptitiously at the corner of a building, she catches the eye of Hawke. From here, they have an encounter, she steals his Maserati, which he lets her get away with, and then we're taken on a journey of danger and intrigue...up to a point.

I was interested in Hawke's posse of Soul Seductors and wanted to know what they were and what Zorn's story was.

 photo image.jpg1_zps5ttsk9p3.jpg

But it took a while. This is a paranormal story but we didn't really get an understanding or explanation as to what a Soul Seductor was or why until about the 70% mark. The explanation was interesting and original. Just wished it had come sooner.

Also, Hawke was an absolute whore...if random sex for the hell of it or for revenge or just because it's a day that ends in "y" bothers you, you'll hate Hawke. Despite his draw to Loreli, which she is having none of, it didn't stop him from hooks up. And yes, there weren't in a relationship - actually they weren't even a "they" at that point but his actions just set up what's to come.

We learn that Lorelei's mission is to save her father. But to do so, she needs to play with some bad guys and take some risks. Lorelei eventually runs right into what she's running from and finds herself a prisoner.

Hawke saves her and from this point on, I felt the story took a turn. After the rescue, the next chapter is a month later and we are told about how Lorelei and Hawke have bonded. I wanted and needed the show not the tell to really feel something between these two. Also, gone is the sassy, 'take no prisoners' Lorelei that we first met and her mission concerning her father takes a major back burner. She's replaced with a sappy love sick girl who lets Hawke's actions slide when what's going on right in front of her is so not acceptable. If we (the reader) had learned about what a Soul Seductor was sooner, I think some of Hawke's behaviour would have been easier to digest and excuse.

I did enjoy parts of this story and I would have rated it 4 stars had it not been for the disconnect of Lorelei's character as well as some of the details being glossed over. While it didn't end on a cliffhanger per se, it does leave many questions about how it'll unfold.

☆ I received an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!! ☆

All in all, this book was "okay" in general. It has potential and space to develop, but, for me it had have some problems and issues with its plot and character execution and certain holes in it that made it hard to connect with from time to time.

Over all though, not bad. But could also use some fine tuning a bit.

DNF @ 38%

So it pains me to NOT finish a book. That is not the kind of reader I am, esp when I was provided the book for an honest review. Since I did not finish the book, I will not unfairly rate it.

Basically, from the first third I did get through, I could not get anywhere into the story. This read starts out fast and it felt as if it started at the end of another book, or perhaps in the middle of another. I had no idea what was going on...someone was missing...and a group of "friends" were on a mission to find him. The men are obviously from the paranormal realm. A sassy gal is running around the "bad ghetto" gambling and stealing a sexy/scary guy's car. Sexy/Scary guy wants this girl for some reason, however he has not problem scratching his lusty itch. The girl is running
from something...or to someone?

OH SNAP. I was lost...really didn't want to be found. If the storyline didn't have me up in the air, the language/lingo is very difficult. It is sort of an weird, rough/ghetto slang that was both hard to follow and very off. I cant really get into the characters much because I really didn't give them a full chance. This just wasn't for me.

I just couldn't get into this, it wasn't for me. It sounded really interesting but unfortunately the writing was not my style. I was really looking forward to reading it so I'm quite disappointed.

I found the male main character's voice crude and cringey, it didn't work for me unfortunately. The incessant cursing in every sentence just made him sound like an uneducated moron and it got on my nerves. I'm not going to rate this since I couldn't finish it.

I received a free Kindle edition of this book and I thought I'd give it a chance. I like to read some indie authors from time to time because among them can be hidden gems, like Kate Wrath. Just because you don't have a big publicity machine working for you doesn't mean that you can't write like nobody's business. And I believe in giving a chance because with lesser know authors you never know what you’re going to get. However, with "All in For Lust", a book one of the lustrously named "Soul Seductors" series you'll understand from page one what you're getting.

I didn't like "All in For Lust" because I don't like the mindset it represents. Things that should come of as sexy are representations of rape, jealousy and pettiness. Hawke is a promiscuous wealthy douche who only thinks with his dick. Yes, I understand it's his "job" to get souls to the Devil but I'm sorry, if you can't have some humanity and manners, I'm not impressed. Lorelei, the female MC and the most beautiful and sexy young woman makes the mistake of saying "No" to our male MC's repeated attempts to woo her. Consequently, this makes Hawke so angry that he does something SOO utterly childish and petty that I couldn't believe it. And when tried get my hopes up by "Lorelei is so over this!" but oh no, what did I found out? That she listened like a Peeping Tom while Hawke fucked some other girl in the room next to hers.

Pathetic. Utterly and absurdly pathetic. This book is like a Bible of Anti-Aspirations.

This book is an ode to a male forcefulness, to a dogma that what a Man wants he gets and while a woman can be strong she's never strong enough to resist the charms (and the force) of the Man. It tries to have a extra dimension by introducing a Lorelei sick father and some other issues she has but I can already see how money that Hawke has will cancel all her problems. Straightforward and simple but so, so boring and disrespectful.

I feel you're better of reading either Richelle Mead's "Succubus Blues", the first book of the Georgina Kincaid series or even J.R.Ward's "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series. I feel weird recommending those because I DNF either of them – it just isn't my cup of tea. I'm not into romance that is just romance. But still, the sheer quality of writing of those books is much better than in "All in For Lust" can offer. I guess having an editor is also a part of this magic.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This sounded so interesting when the author emailed me. Maybe I should have read a sample first because the writing wasn't for me at all. I expected something different from the story than I got and was left unsatisfied I guess you could say.

I wouldn't say I hated it and it was horrible, because I was at a point where I didn't want to read anymore but I was curious enough to continue to figure out what was happening with certain things.

Those things however were not answered at all, and I finished feeling super disappointed. I felt many scenes didn't need to happen for the story to make sense and maybe should have been trimmed a little. My other issue was I was always confused about characters race and who was who because they're just kind of thrown at you.

The paranormal element feels small in regards to this book even though they're paranormal people, and I disliked that. It went around this couple, then it didn't and went around their people and Zorns old life and it just felt super jumbled.

I wanted to love it, but I couldn't. I won't be adding a rating on Goodreads until after its released because I don't like giving ARCs small ratings before release dates. Unfortunately it just wasn't for me.

A big thanks to the author for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review. With that being said, I must mark it DNF@70% with a generous 2 star rating for what I did read.

I can't get into the characters or the story overall. It started out strong but 'Hawke' is seriously lacking in the leading man department. The racial slang is completely unnecessary and I felt the author was trying too hard to make these characters come across as 'badass'. This isn't a bad book, it had it's moments for sure, tho not enough to keep me engaged.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 4.75 STARS ALL IN (SOUL SEDUCTORS by Amelia Gates)

I called it how I see it! We all have different taste and likes, but when I have been around over 700 books in less than two years, I have never been across to story like this, and it was refreshing. Maybe my luck, but I've been handed and mostly purchased pretty good books lately, and ALL IN is one of those books.

All In by Amelia Gates is sexy, captivating, suspenseful, intense, exceptionally well developed, lots of steamy and hot scenes, full of intrigue, humor and evil. Yes, believe it or not humor, and I am incredibly surprised by that, and I loved it, because honestly, who would want to read a predictable story? Certainly, not me.
I love how palpable the chemistry is with our two main characters and how the story develops, because I feel as if am part of it, and I understand what's going on. I can feel Lorelei's terror and all the comes with it at the end of the book and is creepy but absolutely amazingly how good it feels to find a book that pulls you in! WOW

HAWKE loves his life and the power he holds, but he hates the price he's been paying for it. But in reality he didn't chose this life, and after finding more about him, I got to love this hot man that is starting to show that there is still something good inside of him, especially after meeting LORELEI, whom by the way, wants nothing to do with him. She sees him as a manwhore, but seriously, his job description says it all, "SOUL SEDUCTOR", but guess what, now he's falling for her.

LORELEI was running for her life when she meet Hawke. She's got so much on her plate right now, like trying to save his dad's life who's near death in a hospital bed, and her crazy sister is the one who put him there, and lets not forget the mean loan-shark that's after her to collect a debt. So, in one night, she had a gun pointed at her head, stolen two cars, watched a man have his brains blown over a poker table and to top it all off, she end up kissing a psychopath (Hawke). Now, after that kiss this psycho wants more. He won’t stop until he gets more.

I'm bummed that some of the reviews don't see what I see, which of course I respect. Like I've said at the beginning, we all have different taste and likes. I am hoping this series keeps its pace, and won't be long for the next installment, because I'm dying to find out what's going to happen next, and it better be something positive, because even though I had my good share in suspense, laughing, smiling, and crying with this amazing story, there had been more evil than good in it. Willingly you give your soul to the devil, but what happens when you being force to do it? When the person you love the most is being harm before your eyes so that you can give in? I wouldn't call it "willingly giving in your soul".

To me this is the beginning of an amazing and unique series, but I better start seen its share of GOOD too, because so far, I'm sold!

The only reason I don't give the whole 5 Stars is because there were some editing error that threw me off guard at some point, but nothing that my smart head couldn't figure out soon.

OVERALL: I LOVE IT.
OMG! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT INSTALLMENT!

I highly recommend that you give it a try and judge for yourself. In my case, it was a page turner for me. It was easy for me to connect to the story and be able to understand this or that (if you know what I mean) because I really did savour it.

this review originally appeared here

I think this book has so much potential but it’s hindered by all things profane.

In the outline of thoughts I made for this book, there is 1.5 out of the 7.5 items I like about it. I’m honestly fond of the story. Gates created a world with Soul Seductors, people who had sold their souls to the devil and walked the earth to take others’ for their lord through carnal means. Apparently, souls are most vulnerable at sex which I kinda agree but this one here is for seriously vile matters.

The .5 I’m referring to is our heroine, Lorelei. A feisty, independent, and unafraid woman who played in sin city for some heroic cause. She was good at it, which I found questionable due to her gentle upbringing. Our author provided something to back this up but I remained unconvinced. Anyway, she survived well which I applaud very much. She was all good through out the story, until she did something annoying. I didn’t take her for such act and my partiality for her shot down by half.

And the other six are just my disfavors.

I actually just understood the story same time the heroine did. I had been so confused whether Soul Seductor was just a title they made up or was it a legitimate profession of some transcendental kind. It took me half of the story to understand that this was a paranormal romance. Another confusion I got here was the importance of the person Hawke and his friends were looking for. I had been pondering about it for a while before I got my answer.

After reading it all, I found this more of a friendship story than a romantic one of that a man and a woman. The search for their friend hovered quite constantly more than the heroine in the hero’s mind and vice versa. How Hawke and Lorelei’s relationship developed when they were together wasn’t even elaborated much, just that they did this and that and then suddenly they were in love. Might not be completely true but this was how it felt like to me.

While I found Lorelei almost agreeable, I was never charmed by Hawke. First and foremost, I hated his way of words. Actually it was the same for all the other Seductors but since our hero had more exposure I tended to see it more on him. There was not a paragraph on this book without the word fucking, bitch, and pussy. I can only take fucking for the novelty of emphasis. I find it unacceptable to call all women of the world bitch just because someone have it rough. And I wish everyone just stop using the word pussy or cunt. I can mention a few likable traits of Hawke but the negative just outweighs it. I didn’t like him. I didn’t like him and the other characters, enough to make me skim my way through the book at some points because I was feeling indifferent to their introspection. I just wanted see what happened next.

Oh, I forgot to mention I liked a certain someone here who’d throw everything in vain. How adorable of him to turn the world upside down.

Thank you dear author Amelia Gates for sending me this ARC!

I believe that the two stars I am giving to this book is more than enough. I had most of this review in my head before I even reached 60% of the book and I am warning you this isn't going to be pretty and it will have some spoilers. The only good thing about my whole history with the book is that the author was as honest as she could be without giving me spoilers when asked her if there was cheating in this book. She said no (at least not in the traditional sense) and she was right. The bad thing is that Hawke sleeps with a lot of women in this book and is detailed. He picked a woman just to make Lorelei jealous and it's not just a mention. And then he does a hotel receptionist. He should have left a 5 star review for that hotel. He even brings women home every night while Lorelei stays with him. That's something that I hate and it really made my reading experience difficult.

Another thing that I know most people will hate is the name calling. Hawke and his friends call Lorelei and pretty much all the women bitch. Isn't lovely when you have read half the book and the hero still calls the heroine bitch? *sarcasm off* Whore was also a name that was used and I found the whole situation very sexist.

Things might have been a little better if I wasn't feeling confused all the time about what Hawke and the soul seductors can do. We learn some stuff around 70% of the story and I disliked that. For me it was too late to start explaining things at that point. Maybe if Hawke wasn't busy sleeping with other women he would have explained things sooner. Maybe if he had explained things sooner I wouldn't have felt this way about his behavior. I still don't know if the only thing he can do is take the soul or if he can do more. Because he seemed to me like he was a mere human who couldn't do much.

The end is not a cliffhanger, but it's not the complete ending of the story. It was abrupt if I might say it. When I reached the end, I thought that pages were missing, but then I remembered that this is the first book in the series and I thought that the story will continue in the 2nd book.

I wouldn't recommend the book to someone if they asked me for a rec. I probably wouldn't tell them to read them if they asked me if they should, The language and the sleeping around were a turn off for me and I can get over them. I will read the second book some time in my lifetime, but it won't be in my immediate to read list.

I received a copy for a honest review

Ok, let me start with I had no clue what a Soul Seducer was, i guess i could have figured it out but i had never heard of one. A soul seducer is like a bounty hunter, It's their job to win your soul over to the devil, whether its from the best sex of your life or just wanting more out of life, all you have to do is say "I give you my soul" and its his. These are people that either have sold their own soul or as in Hawke's case, had theirs sold by their parent so that they could save themselves. I got the feeling that some are just trying to make their quota and get out, while others enjoy the job.
Hawke, soul seducer and hottie. Don't let the nice boy look fool you, he's as tough as nails.
Lorelei, good girl having a bad go of it.
This book doesn't slowly introduce you to the characters, they are a smack in the face from the beginning. Hawke is on the prowl looking for is friend and sees Lorelie for the first time and it's like "WOW". Something about her draws him in, something other than the goodness of her soul and her hot bod. Lorelie is a good girl trying to earn some money for her sick father, she's just not using her head in the way she's trying to do it. Even after she turns Hawke down he's still intrigued and then he starts having prophetic dreams about her. She needs to stay away from him, as she sees it he's just a man who sleeps with a different woman everynight nothing good could come from this. But, even when he tells her what he is, she can't leave him.
When I read this I think, "Yes, in middle of it all Hawke is a bad guy. But deep down don't we know that even bad guys have a right to love. Love isn't just for the good guys of the world." Maybe it was fate that brought these two people together, maybe there's more going on behind the scenes than we can see.
Gates writes a non stop book. Having never read anything by her before I didn't know what it was going to be like going in, now I will say I'm a fan and I will be on pins and needles waiting for book 2.

Hawke, Payne, Kraze and Maria Maria are looking for their friend. He's more of a brother than a friend. They are worried about what he's doing and where he's at. Zorn has managed to stay under the radar. Hawke just wants to find Zorn before he does something really stupid. On his way to a meeting about Zorn, Hawke meets Lorelei. To him, she's perfect. He's not sure about the feelings Lorelei brings out in him but he does know one thing, he'll NEVER hurt her. Lorelei is just trying to stay alive. Hawke is cute and all but Lorelei is on a mission. She'll have to avoid Hawke to complete this mission. Someone else has other ideas.

A unique, highly dysfunctional family-of-sorts, is cracking at the seams. The characters are well defined and have fierce personalities. Larger than life and unafraid to do their job. The writing is amazing! Ms Gates has a wonderful gift for storytelling. She grips you with a gritty, hard and raw writing style. This is one of those in-your-face- books. You don't dare stop reading until it's completed. I felt the heat, blood and energy on every page. You get the feeling something explosive will happen if you look away from the book. Ms. Gates is, in my opinion, up there with the biggest author names in the business. I applaud her fantastic efforts with this book! PLEASE, you have to get a copy for your TBR pile. You'll kick yourself if you don't get one.

I found no issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because this book blew me away! ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

I wrench the kisses from his lips like a woman deprived of satisfaction and stupidly, so so stupidly, I follow his lead, unbuckle my own seatbelt and take as much of him as I can in this tight space.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel by Miss Gates. It’s amazingly written, touched more than a few soft spots in my heart and had me gasping and cringing and unable to break eye contact with my kindle.

The soul seductors are on a quest to find their friend and fellow soul seductor, Zorn. We’re taken on this journey with Hawke as he tries everything in his power to find his friend before something ‘bad’ happens. Little does he know, this journey has much more in store for him. As a soul seductor, he needs to keep up his quota, gathering a certain amount of souls each month. This leaves no room for love. In fact, love is one of the things that is not permitted as a soul seductor. When Lorelei shows up, he thinks of her the way he thinks of all the other women he has seduced except time after time it becomes evident that there’s something special about her.

Lorelei has her own conflicts to work through. The last thing she is expecting is love or even a man capable of making her look twice. Then Hawke catches her attention and before she can really digest just how attracted to him she is, things take a turn for the worse.

I loved the internal conflicts that both these characters were working through and how fiercely they were able to fall in love despite all the negatives stacked against them.

Awesomesauce!!!

Hawke has never known a life different from the one he’s been living all along… until she came. Lorelei is everything Hawke wants in a woman…and then some. All In is a novel that reeled me in from the get go. The characters are well thought through and well developed which made it very easy for me to not only connect with them but also look forward to learning more about each and every one of them. The love story between Lorelei and Hawke is intense! I must say that there are a few twists and turns (as well as some very hot scenes) that up the intensity of this novel and had me on the edge of my bed while reading.

Soul Seductors isn’t your typical man falls in love with woman –and vice versa then somebody’s heart gets broken- story. It’s action packed, mysterious, heart wrenching and heart-warming all in one.

Loved the concept, the characters, the story itself and can’t wait for more from the soul seductors!!!

Different and intriguing

There are so many things going on in this book at once that for awhile it was a little confusing. Tho I have to say I dug in and stayed the course and continued reading. And I am glad that I did. Amelia's imagination is both different and intriguing. Soul Seductors.... haven't heard that before and sadly I kinda would like to meet one. A man so perfect that after just one night he'll have you giving up your soul. Then there is Lorelei. She's a strong heroine who will do anything to save her father. And she's a "take no shit" kinda girl. The story of Hawke and Lorelei is a beautiful one. A beautifully thought out love that may or may not be meant to be. There are still so many unanswered questions and I do believe I will be getting the next installment just to see where this "love" goes and see if these questions are answered.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!

Never read anything like this story! Not sure what to say because I am stunned into silence. This is the craziest plot I have ever heard or read about, but I could not put it down. I am amazed that someone could write a story such as this. My eyes are wide open now and my brain is in overdrive for sure. If you are into reading a story regarding evil and the devil then this is surely the book for you!!!! Since I have never read a book like this before, I have to say I believe the author did a great job with putting this story together and making me believe this story could not be too far from the truth!!!!

Too much to soon with no explanation

I received this bookA first book is supposed to make you desire to read the others. This book had potential until all the other characters were thrown into the mix. You do not have enough time to introduce new characters when I haven't a clue about the first 2. I know what a soul seductor is but what happens to Maria Maria and Kraze? I could have been a fan if the author drew me in with the two main characters instead of all the co-stars.

Ok so I figured I was gonna give this Kindle freebie 2 stars. It’s soooo cliché and Hawke is pretty awful and I skimmed the non Hawke/Lorelei parts (because who cares?) but I was still pushing to get to the fuck-finale... and it never came. (Pun intended). This seems to be the first third of Hawke and Lorelei’s book, All In? So yeah. Frustrated with this one.

This a 19 page teaser and I devoured each one. Hawke, Marie Marie, and Zorn are soul seductors what that actually means... I have no idea but I know it can't be good. Some are content with the live the have and some refuse to let go of the life the use to know. Which leads us to what happen to Zorn and how that will affect the trio and their own lives. I'm intrigued by this story and I'm ready to read more.

Oh boy was this a teaser! I'm not a fan of a paranormal type story but this story has caught my attention! It's a 19 page teaser that really has action from the beginning and keeps you turning the pages! I cannot wait for the full length novel to come out, this is the first paranormal story I WILL follow!

All in

Well that was a very interesting read. And that ending might have just killed me. I really liked the characters and there back stories even though some were rough. Good book. Kept my attention and left me wanting more.

I'm not sure How feel about this book. I love the story line of Hawke and Lorelei. But it's confusing at parts. But all in all it was an interesting read. I suggest you read it.
