His Secret Omega

Rate this book
Billionaire shifter Aidan Carlisle rules his pack and his company with an iron fist. His wolf has never shown an interest in taking a mate, but when his estranged best friend suddenly reappears in his life, Aidan is filled with a fierce and inescapable longing... for another man.

Luke Manning has always known he and Aidan were from two different worlds. Aidan is a rich, powerful, and undeniably straight alpha, while Luke is just the blue-collar wolf who's been hopelessly in love with him for over ten years.

But Luke's feelings aren't the only thing he's kept from Aidan. Luke is an omega: A submissive male wolf with the power to drive powerful alphas mad with desire. Alphas like Aidan.

So when fate brings the two men together for an unforgettable night of passion, Luke is convinced Aidan is just reacting to the omega wolf inside of him.

And when he suddenly finds himself pregnant with Aidan's pup, he's certain it's going to spell the end of whatever might be building between them.

Now Aidan has to prove Luke is the most important thing in his life, or risk losing him--and their pup--forever.

His Secret Omega is a standalone novel with a HEA ending, a satisfying epilogue, and NO CLIFFHANGERS!

Content Warning: This book is a first time gay for you romance. It contains explicit, unprotected love scenes and male pregnancy, or Mpreg. Adults only shifter romance!

Surprisingly, I really loved this one. 😊 I have heard many mixed reviews about Wolf Specter’s books and I was a bit hesitant to read this one first. But I needed a bit of pick-me-up from my heavy reads and the blurb seems really interesting so I gave it a shot. And I’m so happy that I gave this book a chance because this was a very delightful read. 😘

Luke has been in love with Aidan for as long as he can remember. But they haven’t met with each other since Luke’s family moved to another state 12 years ago. And the fact that he’s an omega and his best friend neither has an idea about what he is nor as straight as a pole doesn’t help him in his love cause. He’s been taking heat suppressants since he hit puberty and working as a building contractor pretending to be a beta.

Aidan rules his pack and his company with an iron fist just like his father did. He has no time for personal relationships or romance or socializing as his life evolves around working hard from dawn to dusk. Sometimes, he misses his childhood friend, Luke, who ultimately had been his only friend in his life. And he would have never imagined the insolent contractor who demanded him to come down to the site to sign the contract would be Luke whom he has lost 12 years ago.

Aidan desperately wants to rekindle his friendship with Luke but the problem is that he wants much more than a bosom friendship from his long lost childhood friend. 😁 And he’s straight and has never been interested in guys before. He just can’t understand why his inner beast desperately wants to claim and mate Luke. 😉 Luke couldn’t believe that Aidan remembered him after 12 years and wants to rebuild their friendship again. But it is proving to be not only dangerous but also extremely difficult to control himself around Aiden as they become closer and closer. 😌 And Aidan doesn’t even know that he is an omega. It won’t be fair to Aidan to mate and claim him just because he’s an omega and forced to do so by their baser animal instincts. But he also can’t deny the fact that Aidan is his life mate and the only guy he’s ever fallen in love with. 😍

I really love the build-up of sexual tension between Aidan and Luke. I can’t exactly say it’s insta-love because they have been attracted to each other (although Aidan won’t admit to himself .. 😁) since they were teen. Loved how they met again after more than a decade. The setup of their reunion was realistic and beautiful. Love it. Although Aidan appears to be strong and stern on the outside, he has been lonely for a very long time. And when Luke went into heat and Aidan got frenzy over that lovely omega, boy boy boy, that sex was super hot. 😱 I loveeeeee it! 😍 It’s raw, sensual, erotic and extremely sexy. ❤️ And knotting!!! 👏 Mmmmm .. everything I want in a delicious shifter sex. 😱 I also enjoy how their relationship developed from that and how they had to overcome obstacles to be together in the end. Although this was only about 150 pages, the story was well-built, balanced with a good amount of angst and sexy smut. 👍 And I’m very happy that there was an epilogue in the end. 👏 Now I’m eager to start his “dragon’s destiny” series. ☺️

Favorite excerpts from the novel: 💗💜💗

”He wanted to mate Luke Manning. To bite him, tie them together by blood for eternity.”

“The kiss broke, and his alpha's eyes blazed gold. A growl made his word almost unintelligible, but it sliced through Luke, heating his blood anew. "Mine." "Yes," he said breathlessly. "Only yours."

“Say what you mean and mean what you say, even if nobody else in the world will.”

“You’ve always been the best part of me. I love you.”

This author seems all over the map to me, with some very intriguing and entertaining writing and some that just leaves me flat (which makes some of the heat less than sizzling for me). This book is among the author's better efforts, with an interesting story and compelling characters to go along with the action between the sheets. Although I wish there was a bit more done with the potentially intriguing mpreg aspect of the story, overall I appreciated the build-up to the eventual wolfy mating scenes as well as the plot/conflict resolution.

**GRammar**

Aidan and Luke where part of the same pack and were best friend when they were kids, till one day Luke's parents left the pack and took their son with them. Aidan never forgot the boy that was his first kiss, a kiss born after a joke when they were westriling on the floor in the woods and ended up one on top of the other and staring at each other face, asking stupid questions like, "have you kissed someone before?". Luke had been only 13 like his friend, but he had had a crush on Aidan and his wolf had known the other boy was his mate, the pull to kiss him had been too strong and he had got erect, Aidan had noted it and had kissed him. Both of them had continued their lives the same after that, Aidan being straight and Luke knowing that the kiss had been only an experiment for the Alpha's son.

Now years later Luke is back, and his contruction company was hired by Aidan. When they meet again, after almost 12 years, Luke cant stop feeling again the pull to the other man, and to his surprise also Aidan seems to be happy to see him.

They start spending time together, but one day shit hits the fan. Luke has a secret he is an omega and his pheromones are so strong that his parents had took him away to avoid him and Aidan mating during his heat and not giving the other boy a choice. He and Aidan are together trapped by the snow in an old cabin when Luke's heat comes and he doesnt have his pills. In the end they have sex and Luke gets pregnant. When Aidan finds out that his friend is an omega he feels betrayed, and isnt nice, but Luke knows that he has all the reasons to feel used, since he didnt have a choice in the mating. They still dont know that Luke is pregnant and when they are back home, they stop seeing each other.

Aidan feels ashamed by his behaviour and wants answers, he decides to go talk with Luke's parents and find out what really happend years ago. They will tell him that Aidan's father, the former Alpha, had been the one to make them leave, fearing that the omega and his son would end up together. He denied them a life together and both of them ended up having other relationships and experiences.

The thing I didnt understand was how Luke could have sex with other men knowing who his mate was and being in love with him. I can understand Aidan since he didnt know Luke was his mate, his wolf hadnt found out yet when they were separated, but Luke knew... Couldnt he wait to come back? to confess his feelings and only after a rejection, decide to have fun with others?. I really hated this part of the story.

Anyway to make this short. While Aidan is away talking with Luke's parents, Rafe one of his beta, tries to take his spot as Alpha, and also tries to kill Luke. Luckily Aidan is back in time to stop the other wolves from killing his mate ( he is now sure of that), but in doing so he has to kill one wolf and it seems that it was what Rafe was w8 for, since soon after he leaves and calls the council, telling them all about Aidan's mating with an omega from another pack and how this omega is now pregnant and that Aidan killed a pack mate.

Aidan and Luke are taken into custody and have to wait the council's decision. They just hope that they will not decide to kill them. When they are given the chance to talk about their crimes, Aidan makes them a offer. He will leave this pack and take Luke with him and at the same time he will also leave to them his company taking only the part he created, with him. The greedy wolves agree and Luke and Aidan are finally free.

The book ends with Aidan and Luke, 2 years later, being happy and living in their house with their beautiful little girl, now 2 years old.

The book wasnt bad, but I didnt like a lot of things, some didnt make sense and it all went too fast. I wanted to know more about the council, about why Luke didnt come back before but waited 12 years, and more...but I think I will never know.

i was really looking forward to seeing and reading about the pregnancy, but we don't get that. MC finds out he's carrying towards the end then it epilogue baby is already about 2 years old and then it's done. Needed more character interaction. Not enough. The alpha spent more time mad and doubting his Omega trying to "entrap" him and setting up the whole thing. Fckin idiot.

A re-encounter and friends to lover story about a powerful alpha ceo and his contractor omega best friend. Because of how much these two are drawn to each other and how much they liked each other from the start, it was nice to see them become a couple.

I did wish we got to see more of them when they were younger. We had one scene but I wish we got to know more about how much they were drawn to each other, how they met, etc. It would have really added intimacy and affection to the story but that's my personal taste.

I think it was very sweet and a nice novella moment.

Separated as teenagers, they had forgotten their inner wolves longed for each other. Luke returns to Greystone pack territory to work on a new building for ShifterNet the growing social media platform for wolf shifters. Meeting his long lost childhood friend Aidan they soon come to realise they're not just each others first kiss, but fated mates. This is a Mpreg Romance. Mm.

It isn't everyday you come across a M/M PNR with a male pregnancy, so I had to read. Aidan is his pack's alpha and, aside from a little experimental kiss with his best friend, Luke, when he was 13, has always been attracted to women. So when he meets up with Luke again and he starts feeling attracted to his best friend, he gets a bit confused. Luke is keeping a secret from Aidan, and it's not that he's gay. He's an omega, a male wolf who can actually mate and produce children, but who gives off pheromones which send an alpha into mating frenzy. He takes suppressants to control it, but one night forgets to take them and ends up having crazy, mating sex with Aidan. And gets pregnant...

This was really unique in some respects, but just like every other shifter romance out there in others. I liked the characters and didn't mind the cliche shifter aspects. The story kept me reading and the suspense of whether Aidan would accept Luke was pretty angsty. I was so disappointed that I didn't get more detail about the male pregnancy. Seriously. How does it happen? Do Omegas have different biology (although they must if Luke's "hole" kept getting wet from his arousal)? How does the guy give birth? Cuz I gotta be honest, the idea of the baby coming out the same way it got in, is kinda gross. And painful since that area of the body is not designed to stretch that much. I'm hoping it was a C-Section... Guess I'll have to keep reading more by this author to see if I can find an answer.

I actually really enjoyed this one and though it, like many others I've been reading lately have a GFY theme with a shifter story, there is a decent reason.

One of Specter's best works. I had read some others recently that were about to make me give up but this was great. While I love the fated mates trope, I love how these two had a deep connection before the mating bond was revealed. Aiden's transformation in all areas of his life was great to see. The sex scenes were hot just the right amount. I highly recommend it!

Easy read fated mates. As is expected with this type of trope, all the usual ingredients are present, but I liked that the alpha and omega had history as childhood friends, so there was more to invest in than just the " insta-love". There was a nice little bout of drama towards the end and finishing with an epilogue of two years down the line.

Entertaining read.

Good Story

This is a good story. The characters are well developed throughout the story. The sexual chemistry between the characters is well written. There is some violence and some twists in this story.

Very enjoyable

I really liked this book. It was easy to read, cut to the chase, the story flowed and was interesting, there were no typos--which is unusual with ebooks, and I liked the two MCs.

Enjoyable. I got the alpha/omega story that I wanted. The mPreg was glazed over and some details of the world were shaky. Why were female wolves sterile? I understand that Luke is a shifter but his baby survived all that trauma and tossing around, seriously?
