Friends of Ishmael: Bringing God's Blessing to Muslims

Rate this book
Most Christians struggle with sharing Christ with Muslims. In fact, with images of the Twin Towers falling and radical Islam rising, many Christians wonder if Muslims can be saved or are worth saving. Prejudice, fear, and anger are just some of the barriers that keep Christians and Muslims at arm’s length. However, there have been a few over the centuries who have dared to be a true friend to the descendants of Ishmael. Friends of Ishmael introduces you to 12 of these heroes of the faith. Included also in the book is the Biblical background for Muslim ministry, a concise, easy–to-read history of the beginning of Islam, and practical suggestions to move you out of your comfort zone. Although this book is an excellent missions education tool for pastors, youth pastors, and mission leaders, the main purpose of Friends of Ishmael is to call out a new generation of young people to abandon their small ambitions and become friends with Muslims, bringing God’s blessing to them.

Convicting, inspiring, insightful

Let your hearts be stirred by the love and work of Christians before us, how they saw Muslims as souls searching for a savior, how they loved them deeply and honestly. Such beauty. Pray that God radically changes their hearts and ours.

Super encouraging and inspiring! Learned so much about the people group I spent the summer with! And loved reading about the passion for sharing Christ with cousins of those before me.
