Stay With Me

Rate this book
Zoe thought she could accept the terms of their affair: exceptionally hot, no-strings-attached sex. But when Andrew coldly informs her of his impending move to New York—and unknowingly turns her world upside down—Zoe tries to forget her unspoken wishes for something more and attempts to move on with her life.

Just as she seems to have found a bit of stability and serenity, Andrew unexpectedly reappears—as the fiancé of Zoe’s vapid, cruel cousin, Ashley. Harboring a secret hope that remains undiminished by time, Zoe attempts to keep her distance and protect her heart. But Andrew’s presence is hard to ignore. And if he uncovers the truth, Zoe will be forced to face the consequences of their past and risk opening herself up to an uncertain future.

Two Stars...

I SO wanted to love this story. Andrew was very cold, distant and kind of an asshole at first. Perfection for me normally. Zoe was such a pathetic doormat it was embarrassing. I loved the idea of Andrew dumping her and moving back home again, unknowingly leaving her behind pregnant with his child. I don't understand how she could keep loving him so much for FOUR long years, without any word from him in all that time, and after he treated her like total crap for the short time they were together, as well as the way he left her. Oh, and the dirty talk that made her fall for him in the first place wasn't hot to me at all, it was kind of just smutty and unattractive. Andrew discovering his secret love child, was also a let down. I thought there'd be some major shit fit event erupting from him once he learned the truth, but there really wasn't. Even with the much needed Ashley drama, it still didn't save the story for me. This one just left me unsatisfied.

Good Lord, This book right Herre!!! had me going through a bunch of feels. There was sadness, there was a bit of breath holding, some anger, errrgh just about everything. Ashley, omg i wanted to grab her and punch her in the face (yeah i know shes not real and just a character) but the scheming *bleep* made me soo mad. I felt soo bad for Zoe with everything she went through, seemingly alone since she lost her parents as a teen so she literally had to pick herself up and make things work out for her after Andrew left (not much of a spoiler so you'll live lol). Andrew made me mad too, hes one of those people that are good at hiding their feelings but still expect you to know how they feel. I absolutely love getting into this story and living through (well mentally anyway) with Zoe. I usually don't like the female protagonist and absolutely adore the males but this book made it the other way around. I got to understand Andrew by the end of the book and got to like him but I'm not crushing. Read this and let me know your thoughts, if you love Andrew or Hate him lol i can't wait to see the thoughts on this one.

2-2.5 lackluster ⭐’s

This was ok, it started out with the “rejection” when Andrew informed her, he was leaving and that she was only ever a warm bed… leaving a heartbroken, pregnant Zoe. But then it skipped over all the angsty parts (miserable, pregnant, struggling to make it) with the 4-year FFW.

I LOVE OW drama, so I was pumped when Andrew reappeared as her evil cousin's fiancé. Ashley was TERRIBLE —Yum--, but that teetered off because she’s hardly around then checks out of the story midway and falls apart off page. Total Bummer.

The writing style was a smidge odd, especially the dialogue. It felt unnatural and was distracting.

“Mag, I beg you, don’t start this again.
He gets my utmost respect for putting up with my niece.”
“Of course, darling. Until tomorrow.
“Zoe, I beg you. It’s difficult for me!”
“I beg you, don’t start!”

But, the bigger problem was the short length didn’t allow enough time for development, so Andrew’s sudden change of heart felt forced and not authentic. The author tried to smooth this over by telling us he always loved the h, but we weren’t shown that through his actions/attitude for the majority of the book.

Bottom Line- The bones were good, but the execution killed my feels. I wish Andrew would’ve appeared more torn, so it was more believable.

I must say this book took me by surprise. I enjoyed the story and the writing. I however was annoyed with Zoe with her woe-is-me attitude over Andrew. Her internal batter with love/hate was interesting but her actions where a bit much. Andrew was a major asshole throughout the book up until the end. The way her treats Zoe is inexcusable. I did like how the story turned around in the end and the epilogue was good. All in all it was a good read.

Ok I'm sorry, but I think this book should be called "The A$$hole and the Doormat". If you enjoy any of these two qualities in your main characters, then this book is for you. I can't find anything good to say about this book, therefore I'm not saying anything.

description
a
Cos’è accaduto in quegli anni?

This was a short cute story that was a little confusing for me in a few places. Andrew is the love of Zoe’s life. They had spent a year together not dating so much as having a sexual affair. When Andrew leaves to return to NY Zoe is heartbroken and can’t bring herself to tell him that she is pregnant. Andrew tells her that he never promised her anything and that this was supposed to be a purely fun fling.

Fast forward 3 years and Andrew shows up with Zoe’s cousin as his fiancé. Zoe is heartbroken all over again but refuses to let it get in the way of her raising Olivia to be a happy little girl. Zoe has worked hard to build her business and she tries to put Andrew aside and move on.

Andrew, however, is having none of that. He wants Zoe back, and claims to have never wanted to let her go!

This book was really cute. I couldn’t buy the whole Andrew pining for Zoe for all this time. His reason for leaving and not looking back seemed a little lame to me. But, he makes it right by his daughter and that was what he needed to do. Zoe getting her happy ever after is just a bonus as far as I am concerned. Speaking of which, I have to wonder if the author has children because this child is the most precocious three year old I have ever encountered and I raised three of them!

I received this ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Started out great, finished weak. I really thought this would turn out to be awesome but it turned into an outline more than a fleshed out story. The last 25% just flew by with info dump after info dump and my eyes hurt from all the rolling. It is a novella so maybe I’m being harsh.

I’m the end…He’s an asshole who has never been faithful to any woman but the h, the OW is evil AF and has to be hospitalized for her level of cray-cray, the h is a such a painful wallflower of a Mary Sue I couldn’t believe the H would be THAT enamored of her. I will never believe in the H, he’s got too much baggage and I think he’ll eventually become like his father. I don’t believe the leopard long term changing his spots for this h. The foundation wasn’t laid to believe it, the biggest problem with telling the story through info dumps :(

…and I’m out.

This is one of three books I have on my shelf to read that were translated by Amazon Publishing. Thank you to both Netgalley and Amazon Publishing for providing the translated ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Zoe got wrapped in the grey eyes and good feelings that Andrew gave her, but she'd told him she could do the no strings attached thing they had going on. Unfortunately, she'd fallen hard and Andrew went back to New York, never to be seen again. He left behind a piece of himself though and when he's back in town, set to be engaged to Zoe's family friend, he finds out how much he left behind. Zoe made a life for herself, but Andrew's return shakes it all up.

Zoe is a likable character, minus her attraction to big jerks and how much she hangs onto the past. I loved her role as a bakery owner , it all worked well with her sort-of innocence, her natural tendency to care for others, and how she always put her best foot forward even when inside she was struggling. She was easy to connect to and I really enjoyed the scenes with her friends. The smut to this story is done well, I liked reading the past as Zoe thought of it and how it was weaved in.

Andrew is terrible. I normally love my male characters to be dominating, but this was overwhelming. I mostly couldn't figure out why Zoe wasn't afraid of this guy and how she held onto feelings for him when they literally had nothing between them but sex. Of course, there's some twists thrown in there that makes it all turn out different and better. I just kept waiting for him to blow up and that's not a great feeling to get from a book. I do like how he was with Olivia and how he changed with Zoe. The change happened very quickly however and wasn't completely believable.

Overall, Stay With Me is a quick and easy read. It definitely falls in the New Adult category with some major smut. There are some twists and things you won't expect. It's fun and good for when you're in the mood for a book, but don't have much time.

Molto reale!

Zoe è stupenda come persona. La adoro <3
Olly *----------------------------------------*

It says read but I had to say I am boiling mad. MMC starts a sex only relationship with a woman and they continue for a year. One day he tells her he is going back to NY and she shouldn’t be mad because he told her sex only. They never went anywhere it was just sex. Stupid girl fall in love and finds out she is pregnant 2 days before the goodbye. Now 3 years later he’s back engaged to the MMC who was engaged while smexing with FMC. Ugh. Of course FMC still loves him 3 years later. 🤢

Finished and i was right impossible to redeem.

I don't really know how I feel about this story. I'm not even 100% if this is really a second chance romance or what.

Four years ago Zoe Evans had a relationship with Andrew Cooper, then he up and breaks up with her a cruel and callous way. Jump to the present and Andrew is engaged to the bitchy family friend, Ashley that is a couple years younger than Zoe.

When Andrew comes face to face with Zoe, they're both in shock; Andrew never thought he'd see Zoe again and Zoe has a little secret she never told Andrew about. From that point on Andrew runs hot and cold, he wants Zoe but he doesn't; add to that, he doesn't want her to move on.

The writing was good, but for me what really killed it was that Andrew was such an ass and Zoe never really stands up to him she spends her time going between this determination to break away from him and dropping to her knees at the mere sign of affection.

Personally I didn't feel that Andrew redeemed himself as male lead. Furthermore, I would have loved for Zoe to really stand up to Ashley; she is the one that orchestrates everything to try and hurt Zoe and her character just end with the allusion that she goes back to New York and has a mental breakdown.

The story was captivating and the writing style engaging, but the lead characters, I just could not like.

Second time read.

So the review. Hero finds the heroine waitressing at a restaurant. He stalks her for weeks then suggest she have a no strings attached affair with him while he is in town. She becomes crazy about him but he doesn’t let her in. He thinks she’s a poor nobody. He breaks off the affair and leaves. She’s pregnant. Has the baby. Five years later he comes back as her cousin’s fiancé. He realises that he has a daughter. He also realises that he still wants the heroine. She isn’t poor. He had not known this. Finally after much blundering about he confesses how he was in love with her five years ago and ran away. How he was never seriously attached to her cousin.
He’s not a very likeable hero.
Ending had a very interesting scene.

Worth a read. Go for it.

First time read - the review-

The love rings so true. Specially hers for him that it is breaking my heart.

Hero is a complete asshole off course.

Let’s see if he can redeem himself.

Also that cheating type angle. But the OW is a bitch. Let me read before giving full review.

Still not bathed. 2:30 pm. Reading to finish the book!

I didn’t like the hero. He is too immature and he slept around while getting angry with the heroine for going out with someone else.

A volte molto dolce.

A second chance romance that I liked very much. It definitely will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Zoe, a woman who has been through a lot in her life, falls in love with Andrew; a man who is only concerned about a no strings attached relationship. When he leaves to go back to New York, she is left with a broken heart and a little piece of him to remind her everyday of what they shared. Fast forward 4 years and Zoe is doing quite well for herself; but little does she know, she's about to come face to face with her past and in the worst way possible.
This book will take you through all the emotions Zoe has to endure and you will love and hate Andrew. Other great characters in this book and some sweets to go along!

A me la storia è piaciuta tanto.

Emotional High

Zoe has been heartbroken for years and with Olivia she has had to endure that heartache. However she has persevered and accomplished the things she wanted and needed to survive. Andrew has grown up in a cold and sterile environment almost emotionless. I liked that he finally got his stuff together. The fact that the book was dripping with emotions made me enjoy this book immensely.
