All Hallow's Howl

Rate this book
Forget the rules. He'll make his own.

Dylan's at the end of his rope. If he doesn't figure out how to get out of his pack's required mating run, he's looking at a lifetime of being force-bonded to some old creep who thinks that "omega" really means "slave".

Not. Happening.

The only problem is that there is no way out of the mating run unless he already has a mate. Putting his faith in an old magic ritual to find his soul mate seems like a dumb idea, but when all else fails, what does he have to lose?

By now I'm sure my reputation of loving all things paranormal and shifters has spread far and wide. Okay, that might be a bit of an exaggeration. *grins* However, I do love discovering a new-to-me author especially if the book involves shifters and an entertaining and interesting world. I can honestly say that Cait Forester's post-apocalyptic world where humans, in an attempt to kill off all weres, destroyed the majority of their own population with a plague, had me hooked and wishing the story was longer.

The plague only affected those shifters who had human blood, but it did send the birthrates dropping exponentially. Since omegas are no longer held in as high esteem as they used to be, this has led to most packs taking up the old rituals that have, heretofore, only been used ceremonially in an attempt to force-mate and breed those omegas. This is the dilemma Dylan finds himself in. He’s an omega, and as the pack is calling for a mating run, which basically means he has to evade and fend off all the old, crusty alphas and reach the other side of the grounds the run is held on in order to be safe. Well, safe until they come up with some other crazy idea to try to make him mate.

It seems the tense of this seems to switch from present first person to third and a little past? It's slightly awkward. The story itself wasn't too bad but...

Like Did I MISS something?? Mostly the Epilogue... end of chapter we are told of consequences and Dylan's wish is granted and then ..

Very awkward cliffhanger...

Eh... I wish that I could say that I liked it but I can't. Not only is it written oddly in two totally different POVs but it's also focused more on setting up the world and introducing people instead of the MCs then it ends with a weird cliffhanger. 1.5 stars

This was an easy 3*. Until the last line happened. It was like driving 65 and slamming your foot on the break. That's it. The End. And I don't see where this is the first book of a series, either. Sad, I wanted it to continue.

The idea behind this story was great. The way the MCs got together and their connection worked very well. Unfortunately, the changes of POV between first person present and third past omniscient took away from it. As well as the lack of development.

The author did a nice job setting up the events, characters, and antagonist in the story, but in the end, the reader has more questions than answers.

The main story didn't have a cliffhanger, but the epilogue does. At least, the next installment should be available soon.

I'll love for the author to re-edit/re-write this story because it has the potential to be great.

WTF!
This read was going along fine, omegas in were stories aren't exactly my favourites but Dylan reminded me a little of Stiles *pauses* *thinks* (huh, I am so stupid) *headsdesk*
Anyway, so he wasn't a pathetic omega, I liked his spunk *cough, erm* and I liked the supernatural element.
Then the epilogue, which in itself want too bad although was a disappointingly massive time jump. Until the last sentence... Then any goodwill I had for this story disappeared.
I hate being manipulated to buy the next book... author you've just lost all my respect.

The concept for this was great and really well executed. I could feel Dylan's desperation over the way fate was robbing him of choice and control--I was even worried that there wasn't going to be a happy ending! The romance was very satisfying and the sex was hot without overwhelming the story. The writing and editing were superb as well. I can't wait for Forester's next book.

Short sexy read

I got this book on a deal, its short but the plot is explained fully and the characters are explained fully so as not to confuse.
I would like to read the next book to see what happens next

great premise, I agree with some of the reviews the way the story is written it goes back and forth between 1st and 3rd person which is ackward. The story flowed well though but the epilogue was confusing I'm assuming there is another book in the series but it's not really clear.

it's good...just needs a little bit editing and more explaining about some things...and to be clear that it's an ongoing series

Even though it was a short read I fell in love with both MC's. I cannot wait for the next book to see how things go with their lives!
