Ten years after fleeing her outback home, international model Jenny Hynes was back to settle her father’s estate and close the book on their fractured relationship. She had no intention of sticking around any longer than absolutely necessary and certainly no intention of rekindling her relationship with the man who had shattered her tender, eighteen year old heart. If only he didn’t still make her body sizzle with desire …
The moment Scott Armstrong set eyes on Jenny Hynes again, he was determined to win her back. But a decade is a long time and she was no longer the shy, impressionable girl who had won his heart. The new Jenny was confident, worldly and very, very guarded. It would take all his patience, persistence and a healthy dose of chemistry to convince her they were meant to be together.
Tess returns home to where she grew up after 10 years away & of course who is the first person she runs into - Scott, the guy who broke her heart (Who I personally adored) A nice easy read. Rural Romance set in the Kimberleys with some great descriptions of the WA Outback.
This book was an easy read, it didn't reach any great heights in terms of suspense but it is a romance and not a romance/thriller but Jenny had shut herself off from any close relationships for a decade because of being hurt by both her father, who had no interest in her after her mother ran away, and Scott who broke her heart, then when she comes back after her father died to sell the property, she is all over Scott even though she tells herself not to get attached, she seems like a mass of contradictions and why wasn't the first question to him when they met up again is "why did you leave me" instead of acting like it was no big deal and she had moved on, clearly not. Still it was interesting reading an Australian setting for a change.

I received this book free as an ARC for my honest review.
It’s great to read a book from an Australian author, even better that’s it is a second chance love story. This book is also part of the Molly Downs series.
Jenny left her family homestead due to difficulties with her father. 10 years later she is back after his death. Scott lives next door, although next door in the Kimberly’s is outback next door. He comes across a stranded Jenny when her ute breaks down. There is still chemistry between them.
At first, I wasn’t sure whether I was going to enjoy this book but it gained some steam and got better. The characters were very likable. I liked the storyline and there was a touch of intrigue. I did find much of the h’s actions to be unrealistic for the international model that she is supposed to be, though.
It wasn’t a knock your socks off kind of book, but I enjoyed it.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was the first Tess McCallum book that I have read and right from the start I enjoyed reading about the Australian Outback and the situations that can develop in such a remote area, I look forward to reading more from this author

This is a second chance kind of romance. It was a nice beach read. I always feel bad when couple lose so many years together because of being misinformed. It makes me sad. However, in the end we have our happily ever after and all is good.
Fantastic sexy Australian romance. However, I did want to tear my hair out when jenny and Scott didn't talk about the split ten years earlier! It would have saved so much anguish. But Tess McCalllun made it up by such a great ending I'm now looking for much more!

I think I need to go and visit Molly Downs. Apart from her insecurity and trust issues Jenny had to go back to where she grew up and where she ran from. Twin Rock is the cattle ranch Jenny was raised on by her father. He was a hard man. Jenny's father passed away and she was in charge of finalising the cattle ranch. She was not expecting to run into Scott, the main reason she left Kimberly 10 years ago. He broke her heart. This story is a cosy read where you need a rainy day, a cuppa and a comfy lounge or bed and read away.
I found this book very unstructured, it didn't have any highs or lows and the whole misunderstands was entertaining for a couple of pages, not the main point of interest for the entire book. Also I really don't believe that just after they talked about everything that happened she just got over it and was ready to marry him despite 10 years of hurt (if misplaced) and a loner. Just not believable.
