From debut author Laura Belle Peters comes a thrilling story of Romance and Suspense. Early reviewers are pleased to call her writing "sweet, domestic, with a gritty edge that makes her work appealing for the modern reader."

Sometimes the deepest love comes from the greatest of sacrifices.
He doesn’t know the baby is his.
He doesn’t know I’m still in love with him.
But he knows I’ll keep refusing his offer to marry me. If I want to give my baby a life better than my own, I won’t marry a man just to have him resent me.
Even if it breaks my heart.

She’s pregnant with another man’s child.
She’d never let a man like me—someone with my past—in her child’s life.
But some desires are hard to deny, and some women are too prefect to resist. I have to keep my distance.
Even if it breaks my heart.

Owen isn't the only man obsessed with Lynne. As a stalker threatens both her and the child, will Lynne embrace her isolation, or will she finally fall into Owen’s protective arms?

This is a stand-alone novel with a HEA. No cliffhanger in sight!

This was a great story from a wonderful new author. This is a story about a woman named Lynne Lowery who ran away from her parents who were emotionally horrible and abusive. She has raised herself and meets Owen. They end up forming a band and several years later , one night, when they are having trouble getting the music to come forth and one thing leads to another and they have a passionate night together but the next morning, it was like the night never happened. They truly love one another but they cannot express how they feel.
Owen wants Lynne so bad and has since the time he has known her; he is someone who looks out for her, the one who protects her from harm. Suddenly there is strained silence between them since that night and now Lynne is pregnant but she won’t say who the father is. Owen knows Lynne has regrets and pain related to how she was treated by her family and that she has a sister that got left behind but he wants them to be together. I loved how Owen still stayed true to Lynne even though there was a distance between them
Lynne doesn’t know how to “do” relationships but she does know she loves and wants Owen. It’s the getting there part she doesn’t quite get. They had this night where everything got crazy and after that, Lynne isn’t sure how to reach back to him. Now she is pregnant and she is afraid – AND she has a crazy stalker on top of everything else. And as time goes by, the time to tell Owen her news goes by and she is afraid to takes risks.

I loved how this was a 2nd chance romance on top of a semi suspense/romance with the stalker storyline. This was a great storyline and I truly enjoyed reading it and cannot wait to read more from this new author.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

ARC in exchange for an honest review

**New author** This story starts out a bit different then any book I have read. I believe the author knew what she was doing when she wrote it as you get focused in the book and want to know what happens with the characters. I believe this book is more about love and second chances.

Two band mates who are struggling to make a living by singing and they can't find the "soul" in the music ever since one night. The both get frustrated with each other but hiding their true feelings for each other.

Lynne left her family at a young age as they were no good parents who thought that she had to pay their way as they did everything for her, which of course was wrong. She meets Owen and he slowly helps her. She decides to take off with Owen and leave her parents behind, her only regret is leaving her sister. Lynne ends up pregnant but keeps the father a secret as she is afraid it will ruin everything or make him feel trapped.

Owen has wanted Lynne for over five years, he is her protector and will do anything for her. He wishes the one night didn't change her but it did. Now she is pregnant and won't tell him who is the father even thou he has a hunch that it might be him. Owen will stop at nothing to take care of Lynne, even if she has a creepy stalker that won't leave her alone.

This book is more about two people coming together and showing the love they have for each other. It may not seem like love but deep down it is - just two stubborn people who don't know how to share their feelings.

Great job to the author.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Owen and Lynne. Owen proposes the question what would you do if the woman you loved didn't seem to love you back? Would you fight for her or would you hope over time whatever had changed your relationship would go back to normal? Also what if she is carrying someone else's child? Owen knows he is in love with Lynne but something happened to them that they can't take back and changed them forever. Owen is willing to do everything he can just to be with Lynne and show her he can be the man that she needs and will eventually want again.

Lynne knows she is keeping a secret from Owen and with their singing duet having struggles she knows she should tell him but she doesn't want to trap him. Lynne knows that the baby she is carrying is really Owen's but can she be honest with him and not see her as an obligation. She wants to be the woman he loves and wants to be with for the rest of their lives because he wants her. With finding out he is going to be a father she is afraid he won't want her for her but because she is carrying his child.

Neither of these people have had it easy and then when they end up pregnant together they find out they are both looking for the same thing, a loving family to hold on to. There are some twists and turns in this book that will have you hooked from the first word to the last. I want to tell you so much more but I am worried I will ruin it for other readers. I will say that I would highly recommend it.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the authors debut novel and I am very impressed with her work. I thought the story-line was really good and definitely held my interest throughout the book. I thought the main characters were pretty well developed but I think maybe just a bit rushed. I would have liked to heard a bit more about their backgrounds and past, even though they would probably have been a bit painful. I really think that would have added greatly to the story. I felt that the introduction of Lynne's sister Liza was a bit rushed also but loved that twist in the story. I really think that with some experience Ms. Peters is going to become quite an exceptional writer! This novel is just the start of great things from her. Congratulations on you debut novel and I am certainly looking forward to more of your work!

This is a stand alone with a HEA. The story was ok but I think something was missing. It seemed like we start in the middle of the story. The beginning is sketchy. Lynne and Owen have been singing together for seven years. They have been dancing around each other the entire time. After a night of passion, Lynn finds herself pregnant. She tells Owen that the baby belongs to someone else. I didn't quite understand why she kept that from him. It made me dislike her for most of the story. Neither of the characters stood out to me. They both were kind of rolling along. Owen especially seemed to just go along with whatever. He hardly ever spoke up. Their pasts were not fully revealed until we got close to the end of the book. Even then, I still couldn't follow Lynn's logic about keeping the paternity a secret.

Interesting story. Not your typical love story but a great read! Owen is a guitar player for a duet group and he is in love with his singing partner. Problem is she is pregnant with someone else's child. Ever since they had one night of passion their sound has been off. Lynn doesn't want Owen to know who the father of her baby is. She is almost 8 months pregnant and trying to do it on her own. She is estranged from her family and on her own. Then a fan decides she is the one for him. Now she has a stalker. Owen wants to move into protect her. Lynn agrees but under duress. Hoping to keep their feelings separate is hard with them living under the same roof.

People can do crazy things when they are in love and even crazier things when brought up by a psycho family. Lynne's family may not be the best but getting away from them helped her out. With help from her friend Owen. She leaves.... Forward to present. Lynn is pregnant and happy to sing if only she can get her friend and colleague Owen on the same page. She had bills to make and things to buy for this baby. Doesn't he know that... Even if she still loves him. Owen wishes Lynn would let him help her and that he can tell he still loves her. Even if she is carrying someone else's child, he wants to be there for her. Can these two ever tell each other how they feel? Can things get anymore crazier??... Well how about a weird stalker now stalker Lynne...

this is a sweet second chance story.
Lynne and Owen have been singing together for at least seven years. he helped her leave her abusive parents when she was seventeen and they've been singing together ever since and have had some success.
Lynne ends up pregnant and doesn't tell him it's his
Owen thinks the baby belongs to another man and that she doesn't want him near her baby.
Lynne also has a stalker
I did enjoy this story but I feel things weren't explained well enough. how did the stalker know Lynne? there are a few other things but I don't want to write any spoilers in the review

The story seemed to jump around quite a bit. Lynne and Owen sing together, but seem to have lost the "magic" when they're onstage. They once had a night of passion. Lynne hates the memory of it but Owen is happy about it. So now add a baby; an untruth; a jealous, long-lost sister; a psycho stalker and gunshots to the mix and when the smoke clears, who will be left standing in the middle of the wreckage?

3.5 STARS *** It was pretty good. It was well written and it had a good plot. There were some things that went unanswered, unexplained, I realize that's life, but in a book there should be a purpose. I liked the characters, didn't always understand their motivations, so it could have used a little more there, but overall I liked it. I liked the idea behind it and the ending. It was sweet and fun with a little suspense. I received an ARC for an honest review.

A Must and Emotional Read!!

Love Lynne and Owen story and how they finally confessed what each other was feeling about one another. Sometimes it will take a bad or unfortunately situation to know that their is someone who really want you but just got blindsided to know that person is that special one you can't live without.

I actually really enjoyed this book.
Although, there were a few rushed parts, all in all it was a great read. Owen and Lynne go through some very intense emotions. Plus, there's a creepy creeper obsessed with Lynne.
Drunken sex. Unexpected surprises. Stalkers. What more could you want :)
