Ebony is about the love affair we have with gadgets and the ways our fascinations with them can skew our perspective of what’s important in our lives. For her graduation present Alishia gets a car, and right from the start she is enamored with it. “ I’m going to name her Ebony.” with a brazen attitude, swinging the car keys in her hands, she tells Kevin, her boyfriend, “She’s mine. Ebony is all mine. I hope you don’t mind, Kevin, but all I want to do is go drive my new car in the sunshine and listen to music playing…” No wonder that he starts to distance himself from Alisha. “That stupid car had really gotten to her. It was like she didn’t even need him. All she needed was Ebony.”
How can her relationship with him be reconciled with her need to be “in the driver’s seat” so to speak? Can she balance her love for him and for her family and the need to hold power? To do so, Alisha must go through a transformation and so must the car.
And is it power she’s holding when she is unable to steer Ebony in the right direction? “Oh no, she’s out of control again, and I can’t slow her down.” Alisha’s knuckles turned white as she grasped the steering wheel.

I absolutely loved this book! As a fan of BJ Robinson, I haven't missed any of her books, but this one had a unique twist that was completely unexpected. If you're looking for an amazing story that grabs you from the start and doesn't let go, this is absolutely the one you need to read! It has mystery, love and an element of self-discovery that is going to stick with you. Don't miss this new story by the fantastic author, BJ Robinson, you're going to love every second of it!
