The pacing of the plot also threw me off a little bit. One moment, Qu Qing Yin was being cold to Ling Feng then another moment, both were rolling in the sheets.
The premise was good and the story itself wouldn't have been much of problem, only if the author expanded on the relationship between the leads a bit more. The development of the relationship between the ML and FL is underdeveloped.
The FL, Qu Qing Yin, was average though I did like her poisoned tongue very much.
The ML, Ling Feng, didn't have much problem either except he had annoying peach blossoms that turned me off.
The first 5-6 chapters are boring as hell (it has only 10 chapters in total mind you). The plot picks up only later. So that's that.
There are not much action either despite it being a martial arts novel. If you want to read a lighthearted xianxia novel to pass the time, then go ahead by all means.
It was 2.5 🌟 for me and I'm rounding it up too. Maybe it was just not my cup of tea but others seem to like it very much🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Sebenarnya aku baca novel ni yang dah translate ke Bahasa Inggeris. Citernya pendek jer cuma ada 10 chapter. Aku suka sangat jalan ceritanya. sangat light tapi menarik.
A rather short story, but not that bad. Main characters relationship was rather strong. Plot was quiet good. The only problem was a villain, I felt like he was downplayed.
Supposed to be reading Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang but got distracted by To Be a Virtuous Wife (which is again not on GR's list) and this one. This was a short novel but it was quite a good one. Strong, independent and witty female leads are my favorites and I love Qu Qing Yin. Her comebacks are gold and I like that she's always calm and collected most of the time. It also didn't help that she has the male lead tightly wrap around her finger. Honestly, books where male lead falls in love first are my guilty pleasure.
Qing Yin has a Shi Fu whose words of wisdom are so good, I keep copying them.
I do have complaints about the book - like the showdown with the main villain of the story was so anti-climactic. The build up was so good but in the end, it ended before it actually began. But oh well, after that, there were secrets revealed that were a joy to discover so I guess it made up a little bit for that so-called showdown.
thanks for the translator for doing their hobby which is painstakingly translating and editing this novel by Xi Meng. I neither read Chinese nor understand them but quite a bit with the translator meticulously researching the Chinese proverbs and some technical terms to provide easy reading for those who wants to read Chinese web novels but can't understand them. Grateful for the Author who posted their lifeblood on the internet to risk the every bit of possibility of everyone to read their works of art for a bit chapters free. thanks you for the persons who give a valuable donations and support (i am sorry i am a poor fan) to the translators ( perhaps their parents and relatives, etc.)
