Double Down

He's her kind of danger...

Small-town-girl Cassidy Jones is a fast-driving, sharp-shooting, man-loving cop with a loud laugh. She's also really good at her job—a fact that is completely irrelevant to the good ol' boys at the station. So when a local mobster is murdered, and the Chief is forced to turn to Cassidy for help, she's excited to get the opportunity to prove herself.

Sure, the only reason she's going undercover is because she's one of only two female cops on the force. Still, it beats the hell out of writing parking tickets. There's just one little problem: she's falling hard for Lorenzo, the mobster's dangerously sexy brother—and possible murder suspect. With everyone at the station assuming she'll fail, Cassidy cannot act on her attraction.

But when Cassidy's instincts lead her to a shocking suspect, her reputation isn't the only thing at stake.

3.5 stars

For a book with such a serious storyline, Double Down was a fun read! Cassidy Jones was your everyday girl – if your everyday girl has a revolving bedroom door and makes no apologies about it, and a closet full of slutty get up for that ‘just in case’ situation. (This is her view, not my judgment, by the way.) Cassidy is a heroine that doesn’t have a lot of baggage. She had a decent childhood and lives a mostly happy life. The only thing pulling her down is her job as a cop. After the station she’d worked for closed, she had to move to a bigger one. All the hard work she’d put in at her previous job went unnoticed. It’s not until an undercover position as a stripper arises that Cassidy gets her moment to shine. Though I have to say, the blurb is a bit misleading here because Cassidy only takes the stage once before she’s offered the job of bartender at the strip joint.

While investigating the murder of a member of an infamous mobster family, she meets the victim’s brother Lorenzo and is immediately attracted to him. Yes, this book has insta-lust, but it is indicative of the character and her history, and it doesn’t move into insta-love. It was just another fun facet of the story, and it was her slow growing feelings for Lorenzo that showed some growth and change in Cassidy. My only gripe about the book was the lack of sex. There were a few steamy scenes, but it never went there. Since this book is dubbed as ‘Cassidy Jones #1’ on Goodreads, I am hoping we’ll get some of that in book two!

This was quick read that had a bit of a ‘Miss Congeniality 2’ feel to it. Cassidy and her best friend, Bobbie, who acts just like her, were part of many capers past and present. The bad guy was a bit predictable and there really wasn’t much suspense here, but it was entertaining, and it’s a book I know I’ll read again. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Cassidy Jones is female cop in a male dominated job. She's constantly trying to prove herself because she's one of two female cops on the force and not a member of the good ol' boys club. When a local mobster ends up murdered, Cassidy is chosen to go undercover at his strip club to find the killer and get herself a promotion.

There were a couple things I really liked about this book. The heroine, Cassidy, was absolutely hilarious. I loved her inner monologue. She's tough but also doesn't take herself too seriously. She's good at her job and doesn't take any crap from the guys at work. I also really liked the suspense. There were a few twists and turns I didn't see coming. This was a fast-paced book that was full of suspense and mystery. There were a few minor things that I didn't like about this book, in particular I felt the romance was really lacking, not just because there were no steamy scenes but also because there was so much focus on the crime aspect, I didn't really feel a romantic connection. I really look forward to reading more in this series and seeing what's going to happen next with Cassidy Jones.

I need more Cassidy Jones in my life!

Cassidy has been stuck doing the babysitting at the police station, she's taking care of kid's, dealing with clean up, and is the butt of every joke. She's tough though and when she's handed the job of going undercover to find a murder suspect, she uses it to her advantage. With the murderer on her mind, Cassidy starts her new undercover role, only to find herself working for the delicious Lorenzo, brother of the deceased. Focused on the task at hand, Cassidy gets herself into all sorts of trouble as she looks for all the clues she can.

I loved this book! Loved it! Cassidy Jones is a hilarious character with a lot of wit and charm. I enjoyed reading from her POV, especially when she was admiring Lorenzo. For such a serious subject, Cassidy sure makes it fun. She's got a great inner monologue running at all times and the character she interacts with bring this book to life. The crime story line grabbed my attention from the very start and the romance in this one really took a backseat. I liked that the crime was more important than shacking up with boss. From mobsters to strippers and good cops to bad cops, everything you could possibly want in a romantic suspense novel is in this book. There are some great twists, even towards the very end, and I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

What does one do when they get stuck in a reading rut? They go back and try and read some older books off their kindle. That's what I did and read Double Down which is a book I have had on my kindle for at least 5+ years. I wasn't 100% sure what it was about but when I got started reading it, I found myself being drawn into the story and enjoying it. As I have been previously bingeing CSI - I had in my mind that Cassidy Jones was like a young Kathryn Willows. Someone has killed Jimmy Polonza who is a mobster and owns Double Down - a strip club amongst other things. Cassidy is one of only two women on the force and looks like a barbie doll, is the ideal Detective to go undercover as a stripper and help solve the murder. In doing so, Cassidy soon realizes she is better as a bartender and catches the romantic interest of Jimmy's brother Lorenzo. As Cassidy goes further undercover as Brandi and more people turn up dead, can she find out the truth before she is next as we witness a near-death experience for Cassidy and in turn also trying to save her heart from heartbreak as the woman who never falls in love is starting to fall hard for Lorenzo who only knows her undercover identity? Double Down was a great start to the Cassidy Jones series and reminded me of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum and the friendship between Cassidy - Detective and Bobbi- Coroner reminded me of the characters Jane and Maura from Rizzoli and Isles by Tess Gerritsen.

This is a very entertaining and well-written mystery debut by Victoria Pratt, one I enjoyed a great deal and I am hoping for more books based on the female lead.

Cassidy Jones is a very modern and liberated woman, tough and extremely confident but laid back. She works just as hard as she plays and is proud of her accomplishments as a police officer but since she started her new job, work hasn't been as much fun due to her boring assignments and especially because of the boss from hell. Things are about to change though because she has just been tasked with going undercover at a strip club to investigate the murder of a local businessman and this is her chance to show her bosses just what she's made off.

What should be an easy investigation becomes complicated by another dead body, the deceased's ties to organized crime; multiple suspects, some of whom are members of law enforcement; no clear motive for the murder and Cassidy's attraction to the brother of the deceased. Cassidy's search for the killer takes her to very interesting locations including a heaven-and-hell themed sex club

I absolutely enjoyed Cassidy, especially her sense of humor, and her internal monologues had me laughing so hard. Every page had something guaranteed to get a chuckle out of me. Cassidy is a refreshing change from the usual heroine with emotional baggage and I loved her relationship and history with her best friend and sidekick, Bobbie.

The mystery overshadowed the romance in the book, but I enjoyed it all the same. I liked Lorenzo, but was interested in a possible connection between Cassidy and her nemesis, Detective Coleman and I hope that the author explores it if there are more books in the series.

I definitely recommend DOUBLE DOWN to anyone who loves a feisty heroine with a very healthy ego and a great sense of humor, who doesn't take herself too seriously.

I didn't really know what to expect going into this, except that it would be a suspense/crime type of book. There wasn't as much romance and intimacy as I was hoping for. I don't normally read from this imprint though, so I guess I'm just used to a more romantic theme than what was given. The story was good though. I always enjoy a good suspense or murder/mystery story, and this wasn't bad. Not only is there a good amount of suspense, it's also very light-hearted and comical. Cassidy is really cool and I liked how confident and capable she is. Being a female in a male-driven profession is tough, so of course Cassidy would jump at the chance to prove herself and also further her career, even if she had to go undercover in a strip club to do it.

I flew through the book fairly quickly and even though I could see there was more to the story even before the characters did, it was still cool seeing how it all played out. I'm a big fan of reading about successful females, and even though Cassidy isn't in an admirable position when the book starts out, you can tell she's going to go places. Her best friend is really cool, too, being the head medical examiner in the town. I really enjoyed their friendship. I'm really looking forward to more from this series and I definitely want more in terms of Cassidy's relationship with Lorenzo.

This was a truly fun read! Sounds crazy since it's a story filled with strip bars, murder, and the mob but the characters involved are fun and light and the humor the author writes into the story keep it very interesting.

Cassidy Jones is a cop looking to move up in her career. When the opportunity to work undercover comes up, she grabs at the chance. She working as a stripper while investigating a murder that occurred at the club. She expects to find a slimy old guy as the owner, not the over the top hot Lorenzo Polonco. Since she's never been one to push her libido aside, this could be a problem! As they get closer she knows she has to find a way to solve the case and keep Lorenzo. Easier said than done!

This is a great read. I highly recommend it.

It's really really interesting that it's written by Henson from The house of the dead 2 movie . I have completed pet sematary by Stephen King and now I am going to read this book after my exams . Until i complete reading it , i am rating it 5 star . After i complete reading it , i will give a genuine review . Even if i don't find the book interesting, i will still appreciate the efforts of Victoria Pratt and would rate it 3 out of 5 stars !

I love Lorenzo. I love the dichotomy of who he is. He comes from the mob and has a steely attitude when needed but is one who tried to get away from that world and is self made in his own right. He is kind and caring as well. His passion for Cassidy and her well being is a precious find and how Cassidy deals with it does irk me. I know she is undercover but she doesn’t handle it well. She takes advantage of him at times I feel.

Cassidy is a tough as nails gal who goes undercover in a strip joint to solve a murder and move up the ladder. She is feisty and stubborn but sweet and fun as well. Her actions in the Den were funny and the banter between Cassidy and her bestie was awesome. Her moments with Lorenzo were all kinds of intimate at times, fun and also sweet. He brought out the feminine side in her. She gets into lots of danger as she finds out more and more about Jimmy’s death and Amber comes up as another death. As the danger ratchets up so does her feelings for Lorenzo and the confusion as what to do there.

The characters have you either loving or hating them. There is no in between. They give you who they are and no excuses of apologies. they love with all they have, show passion and compassion for others and their jobs with open honesty and do not try to hide it. They mess up like we do and have mistakes like us as well.

the plot was interesting and there are many directions we go. We have two murders that are tied but we don’t know how until the end, a woman trying to prove herself at work, a woman who falls for the bad boy but is lost there because of the situation she is in and the bad boy who isn’t really that who loves a woman that he doesn’t really know. All this works together well as things are slowly revealed to us keeping us intrigued as to what is next.

A story of solving two murders while finding love and companionship. A fun intriguing tale that has you wonder what is next for these two.

Double Down is the first novel in the Cassidy Jones romantic suspense series from first-time author Victoria Pratt. This was a highly enjoyable novel about a police officer turned police detective named Cassidy Jones. She's in her late twenties and is tenacious about her job, willing to do what's necessary to build and solve her case. She's aided by her best friend who just happens to be the coroner as well as her partner who resembles a living Ken doll. When she goes undercover to solve the murder of a supposed local mobster, she meets and becomes attracted to the man's younger brother, thirty-eight-year-old casino head Lorenzo Polonco. Instead of remaining a stripper, however, Lorenzo notices her prowess behind the bar and makes her the new nighttime bartender at Double Down, his late brother's strip club.

The star of this book really was Cassidy Jones and everyone else basically plays support. Her romance with Lorenzo, which one would consider taboo since he is, technically, her boss at Double Down, takes a good long while to level up because Cass doesn't want to become too involved with him while she's working the case. I liked the Cass and Lorenzo pairing, but I must admit that I became rather curious about Detective Jay Coleman because while I did wonder if what was happening between him and Cass was like a playground thing of a boy trying to piss off the girl he likes, it seemed to be much more near the end of the book. I'm looking forward to see if and when that will all play out. With a great murder mystery and a good cast of characters, Double Down gets 4.5 stars (rounded off to five stars) and Cassidy Jones is a series I shall be keeping an eye on. ♥

This is a high 3 stars book.

Double Down made me go through 6 stages while reading it, here they are:

Ok, let's start this!
Oh nooooo, this is going to be one of those books so focused on the erotica part that they stop making sense......
Ups, guess I was wrong, this is actually getting interesting in a policial way I'm pretty sure I know what's the twist and who's the killer Ok, maybe I'm not entirely sure... But it's one of these group of people!
OOOOH SO DID NOT SEE THAT COMING As you can see the plot was very entertaining but at the end of the book I knew it wasn't a story that would mark me. Would I read a sequel tough? Yes, very probably.

The strongest aspect of Double Down, however, were its characters. Cassidy seriously rocks and her relationship with her best friend Bobbie is amazing (I loved loved their interactions). Every other characters is explored equally, what contributes a lot to you never having enough character knowledge to be sure a certain character is or isn't the murderer, what contributes for this to be an awesome reading!

What I felt was lacking in Double Down and could've made it much better would have been to describe each scene more carefully, add a few "useless" details and characters in order to make the suspect's pool even bigger and the important hints even harder to pick up on before they were revealed by the author. I also would've given a bit more of personality depth both to Cassidy and Lorenzo, it sometimes felt like they were a bit too perfect (specially Lorenzo).

With that being said: definitely read Double Down if you're looking for a quick, fun, kickass and a bit unpredictable policial!

Ugh! I loved this book! Or maybe it's just the way I really loved Cassidy. Haha. Our main character, Cassidy Jones, is a cop, (one that guys overlook cause you know, being a girl *rolls eyes* we can do a awesome job ,also), and her life goes into a overdrive of danger when she's called in for a job.
Not patrolling kids that might do little to no fun harm, but something bigger.
And...it might involve having to dress as a stripper and working in a club.
Yeah. About that. Did I mention this was all for the sake of a murder case?
So yes, the police force finally puts out Cassidy on a case, but only because she has the looks of someone who can pass off for a stripper. Gah. Anyway, that doesn't faze her at all. I mean, if you're asked to do something big and embarrassing, shouldn't you ask for something in return? And Cassidy, being a smart little vixen, she did exactly that.
On her way to solve the murder case, Cassidy trips around in five inch heels, does a work out routine as a "stripper" (yes, workout routine. Read the book and you will understand.) and meets handsome Lorenzo, who she might or might not be falling for. The problem? He just might be a murderer.
While trying to solve the case and along with her best friend Bobbie, who acted as her not-quite-partner-in-crime, dragging her into fun and trouble. Or was it the opposite?
Well,I'm not here to spoil the fun. If you have time to go hunker down and consume a rather hilarious action packed read, this just might be for you! ;)

Ugh ... I really should have given up on this book when I first started to lose interest. Sadly, I continued with the hope it would pick up or the reveal would redeem it. Needless to say it didn't.

The cover and blurb were what intrigued me into reading Double Down. It sounded like it would be an action-packed, edge of your seat read with a forbidden romance thrown in. However, I think the blurb greatly oversold it and was slightly misleading as this book didn't live up to any of that.

For one, Cassidy only gets up on stage once. Sure she has a series of slutty outfits, but the implication that she has to strip to solve the case isn't delivered upon. Secondly, where the hell was the romance? It was a feeble, wet relationship that didn't have any spark. There wasn't even much interaction between Cassidy and Lorenzo. It was definitely the biggest disappointment.

As for the actual plot, I was bored. Something with the writing didn't mesh with me. I found the whole plot to be too easy. For an undercover cop, Cassidy sure took a lot of risks that could have blown her cover. I'd have thought someone investigating ex-mafia would have been a little more careful, especially with her questions. She sounded like a cop the whole way through and I found it really unbelievable that no one wondered why she was so interested. The twist/murderer was also predictable. I read on hoping I was wrong, yet I was just left disappointed.

Overall, this read was a big let down for me. I wish I'd stopped reading at 30%. For a romance publisher, I expected more.

This was such a fun and light read even though I thought it was going to be an intense cop book. I love how Victoria Pratt made this one with a sense of humor for the main characters as well. A great read despite what I thought this one was going to be according to the blurb.

Cassidy is a young lady in a man's world. She is a cop trying to make her way up but has yet to catch a break. When an assignment comes up to where Cassidy is going to have to be a stripper and perform on stage, a coworker gives her a hard time about being able to handle the job. Cassidy ends up getting the gig though and now she has to prove that she is worth the position.

When Cassidy gets to the bar and starts her first night as an amateur, she just thought that the lessons she had taken were going to be enough. Boy, was she wrong. Cassidy was not ready all that it took to be a stripper. When she meets the brother of the mobster in the bar, things begin to heat up even more for Cassidy. She knew that there was something special about him but is not sure what exactly. The problem with this is that Cassidy has to be careful of what she says because Lorenzo is one of the murder suspects, and the reason why Cassidy is undercover in the first place. There wasn't a lot of suspense in this story but Victoria Pratt sure does know how to keep your attention and make the story flow flawlessly.

I look forward to reading more of these fun, short stories from Victoria Pratt in the near future. Thanks for a great read!

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley from Entangled Publishing for an honest review. Unfortunately, this didn't click with me. I would classify it first as a mystery/suspense with a slight romantic element in it . My main problem was I did not like the heroine. At first I liked she was a confident woman in a male-dominated career (a policeman.) Then her confidence kept coming out she was so sure of herself it slipped over the line into cockiness. You can't say she's not self-aware - she knows she's beautiful and has a sexy body men love. She's all woman but loves her tuh-kill-ya and poker just like the guys. She's not modest in the least and it was too much for my personal taste (all in the beginning of the book). Another element of the story that didn't work for me was the amount of long paragraphs with descriptions, explanations of backgrounds or inner monologues. I found myself skimming to get to the dialogue.

Since it's subtitled "Cassidy Jones," I'm making an assumption it could be a series about her getting into trouble and solving cases. It would also continue her relationship with the love interest

What an enthralling story this proved to be! With two murders, possible mobster involvement and lots of red herrings along the way this is a superbly written crime mystery with romance, too.

The daughter of a police officer, Cassidy Jones originally worked in her own home town but now works in the neighbouring city. She is given all the best jobs to do - like traffic control, playground duty. All that changes when a local strip club owner is murdered. The Chief of Police directs her to go in undercover to investigate if the killing is gangland related and to try to reveal the perpetrator. The first person she meets on going to the club is Lorenzo, the brother of the victim. Lorenzo is handsome, courteous, attractive and she's immediately smitten but her undercover role means she really has to avoid mixing business and pleasure - but she sure is tempted!

The investigation brings her into contact with a wide variety of suspects, puts her firmly into the line of fire as far as the murderer is concerned and is full of danger, threats and misdirection. It is a well crafted mystery, an enthralling read and a great story I thoroughly enjoyed reading and highly recommend to anyone else who enjoys these genres.

Thanks to the Author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say that I completely loved Cassidy and her bad self. She was tough, funny, sarcastic and loved to have fun. Her scenes with her BFF Bobbie were priceless. They had each other's backs always and did pretty much everything. Cassidy so wanted to prove herself in the man's world in which she worked. And she did. She gave it good. Such bravado.

There were so many twists to this story, some of which pointed to an obvious person and some that made you think hmmm, maybe that person.

Lorenzo, in my humble opinion, was not in this book enough. I needed more of him and his handsomeness. I could not get enough of him or his innuendos with Cassidy. He was mouthwatering.

Then there was Roger. He was simply a dear. And I need one of him in my life. Loved him!

This book definitely kept my attention, wanting to see how Cassidy would get out of each sticky situation and what havoc she would create next. She was highly entertaining, gave me some laugh out loud moments, as well as some "you go girl" ones.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Reading the description for this book doesn't really do it justice.

This was funny
Had a sassy hard arsed heroine
A smutty best friend
Hot cops
Lots of sarcasm
Murder with a handful of suspects

What more do I need to say for you to read this?!

I loved Cassidy and couldn't help picturing her as Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell)

description

She was such a good lead, especially with her best friend Bobbie. Yes it was a bit stereotypical in some aspects (chauvinistic male cops, drug taking strippers) and there was a lack of sex but aside from those points, it was a funny read that had me neglecting my kids just so I could keep reading more.

On top of that the whole question of
description

was handled well and I didn't see who it was until the last chapter. Can't wait to read more about Cassidy and maybe some more grinding on Detective Coleman (I feel some sexual chemistry there)

Being in a small town and one of two females on the force this is the beginning of this series with Cassidy. She is given a assignment to go undercover in a club and turns that around in no time. With help of her friend who is works in the morgue she starts the night as a stripper but ends up being offered bartender. Investigating a murder to lead in this novel to all kinds of things with a growing attachment to the deceased brother-Lorenzo. The deeper she uncovers bits of clues the more dangerous it will become for her too. There is some awesome humor in here also. This mystery is written pretty good that the author will be good at fooling most with figuring out the who done it. Also another murder will be thrown in there that will throw the reader off too. I would say though that there is some romance in here but not too much because it would of been out of place with the way this is written. This is really I would say a big start with this character and what promises to be a awesome series. Suspense to the brim filled with characters that bring it all about to some excellent reading. The best part of course was the shocker on who done it and on the edge reveal.

A quick paced, light-hearted mystery featuring a fast talking heroine and a sexy as sin hero.
I really enjoyed Double Down, which is the debut book by Victoria Pratt. The author did a fabulous job building her characters. I loved the quick dialogue, the fast paced story, and basically everything about the book.
Written in 1st person, I was sucked right into the story from the first page. I liked that Cassidy Jones was a strong main character who knew her mind, and didn’t let the fact that some of her male co-workers didn’t take her detective skills seriously.
When she got the chance to prove herself—by pretending to be a stripper in order to find a murderer—the fun began.
It didn’t hurt that she had a bestie that acted much like her, and when they were together their conversations were a lot of fun. They played off each other so well. Very entertaining.
And then there’s Lorenzo. I can sum him up in one word. YUM!
I can’t wait to see what happens to Cassidy next. Will Lorenzo be in book 2, or will she find another hottie? Will she move up in rank, tackle another case, keep her cockiness and her bestie?
I guess we’ll have to stay tuned …

In what is expected to be the first in the series of books centred around undercover policewoman, Cassidy Jones, one finds a protagonist who is personable and relatable, but also entertaining, witty and likable. The hilarity and wonderful sense of humour of Pratt's Cassidy Jones will draw comparisons to Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, but Cassidy is a greater force to be reckoned with with her tough but sexy edge. She is an extremely well written strong female character which is what is so often needed, but not granted in crime/ thriller novels. Pratt has a great ability through her use of language to bring the characters and places featured in "Double Down" to life so that they truly seem real and believable.

Cassidy Jones is a police officer. She is good at her job, but no one appreciates what she does. She's given assignments that are boring and routine. Suddenly she has a chance to use her skills. They want her to infiltrate a strip club and find out who killed Jimmy Polonco who has mob connections. What a break! Or is it? She will be a stripper. Is it worth it? I liked Cassidy. She's a feisty woman who takes no prisoners. She made me laugh. When she and her childhood friend, Bobbie, get together, they shake things up. This is a fast paced, suspenseful story that combines humor and a sexy romance. Lorenzo, the victim's brother, provided Cassidy with passion and desire. He's a temptation that she can't resist. I enjoyed Double Down. Victoria Pratt did an excellent job! I was hooked. I'm looking forward to more police work by Cassidy Jones.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. "Double Down" by Victoria Pratt is the first book in the "Cassidy Jones" romantic suspense series.

Cassidy is a detective doing more baby sitting type jobs and is chomping at the bit to do some real police work. She finally gets a chance to go undercover to find a murderer. Cassidy meets Lorenzo when working undercover there is chemistry between them from the start.

I have so many mixed emotions about this book. I prefer more romance but, this is more a detective, suspense, and mystery story. There were lots of strange scenes and odd twist and turns. FYI, contains mature content.

This story is a very fun read. It is a unique storyline that I have not read about before. An undercover cop in a strip club? Sign me up!!

Cassidy Jones is a cop who is looking to further her career by getting a promotion. The only way to do that, accept an undercover job by working as a stripper at the club Double Down. The plus, she gets to investigate a murder and there is a super HOT owner of the club Lorenzo. As she gets further into the case, she realizes things won't be as simple as they seemed at the beginning. She also realizes that keeping her distance from Lorenzo will be harder than she thought.

This is a great read which I absolutely loved. I highly recommend it.

Double down by Victoria Pratt

Double down was an action packed, funny read. Although it wasn't a long book, it was filled with a bit of everything you'd want in a book.

Cassidy Jones is a complete badass female cop. She may be little but she sure does pack a punch and the boys in this book find that out pretty fast.

Cassidy did it all, between stripping, bartending, policing, kickin butt, catching murderers, and falling for the other side she had he days quite full.

Victoria did an awesome job with this book. It grabs you and keeps you interested. I look forward to reading more of her work :)

I loved this book! I picked it up cause I've been a long time fan of Vicky's and it was so fast paced and the twist and turns just kept you guessing. The main character Cassidy was a tough talking take no shit from anyone with a witty sarcastic humour and I loved here. I can't wait to read more from Vicky

Fun, fast read

I bought this book because I'm a fan of Pratt as an actress and her director/photog husband. Now, I'm a fan of Pratt as a novelist. She's that funny, sarcastic friend who spins batshit wild yarns over a night of cocktails. I look forward to more Cassidy Jones novels.

I enjoyed this story. It has some interesting twists and our heroine, Cassidy, is definitely a take no prisoners kind of gal. Lorenzo doesn't get left behind with his alpha sexiness. Together they make a fun and interesting team.
