Thoughts on Miracles: Miracles around us

Rate this book
Thoughts on Miracles is a collection of thoughts about miracles. These thoughts were inspired from a variety of sources but are all my own original formulations. The book contains principles about miracles from Romans, Hebrews, and 1&2 Corinthians. It draws upon insights from Kabbalah teaching. It makes liberal use of insights of great Sufi poets Rumi and Kabir. Overall, Thoughts on Miracles is solidly Christian in its outlook and principles even if sometimes they are stated in what I hope are surprising and delightful ways.

The book consists of forty-five chapters that deal with forty-five different aspects of miracles. The style of writing varies from having a modern scientific philosophical feel (A sufficiently advanced technology is not only indistinguishable from magic it is magic.) ; to other times more like the wisdom literature of ancient texts such as Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon (Wisdom is realizing that God is the only one that can supply our needs). I've tried to overlay the text with the feel of Rumi and Kabir; that God is love ; that God is loving us and that we are surrounded by God's love. Many of the chapters start with sayings of Rumi or Kabir that apply to the theme of the chapter.

I hope that folks that read this book, will find it a breath of fresh air and a source of inspiration. The theme of the book is not about how to overcome health problems or to solve some situation problems in your life. Nevertheless, indirectly, I do hope that the text can open the heart and mind, so that one can see and feel that miracles are possible. It is my hope that when one is reading it, one feels that life is miracle, that a spiritual victory is greater than a physical one, that we should seek spiritual victory before we seek physical victory. I hope that the feeling on reading the book is that the very air we breathe is full of miracles. Perhaps in this way, folks will find the miracles they seek in life. Lastly, I hope this book encourages us to seek out and find God, in all His glory, and to get our healing from Him.
