Written by Jake Wood, drummer and percussionist for An American Musical. An Intelligent Person's Guide to Beginning Drum Set is an all-inclusive humorous approach to drumming that caters to the instant gratification mindset of today's video-gamer kids and covers all the bases for a solid drumming background. Along with free audio downloads, the book now has a companion play-along app for iOS! Download Oscillator Drum Jams at the App Store.
Oscillator was born from the frustrations of teaching hundreds of students with out-of-touch warhorses like Syncopation and Stick Control. Unlike these antiquated texts, Oscillator prepares drummers with the practical skills needed by today's contemporary drum set player.
This is more than just a book for students. This is a book for the teachers. For instance, the "rights" and "lefts" are already written in, the spine is coil bound so it sits happily on a music stand, and while there's enough text to get a beginner going, it leaves a fairly blank canvas for the teacher's interpretation.
How to play the drums. Beginning drums. Drums for beginners Idiot's guide to drumming.
